Chapter 448 - 448 Blessed Child~
Luo Lixi slowly looked up at the long stairs on the mountain and turned to her father in silence. Then, she turned towards her grandfather and saw the latter was nonchalant.
"How many steps are there?" Luo Lixi asked her father who was holding her.
"More than… 200?" Luo Baiyun replied in doubt, "Probably?"
"... Baba, I asked you first!" Luo Lixi grumbled and then inquired, "How can grandma and mother go up?! They will be tired to death!"
"They won\'t go. Only I, Housekeeper Wu and your grandfather will climb up with you and Luo Lixiang." Luo Baiyun said. Luo Lixi shook her head as she whispered.
"Don\'t we already know the name the priest would give to him? Why waste time and energy?!" Luo Lixi whined as she glanced at the stairs. She already started to feel sad for her father and grandfather.
"But… others don\'t know. We have to go up and let your grandfather hear the name from that old man\'s mouth." Luo Baiyun said casually and a bit loudly.
Luo Baiyun turned to Luo Lixi and said indifferently, "Not only the boy but also you. Both of you will take up the name the priest will seem better for you all."
"..." Luo Lixi pitifully turned at Luo Baiyun. The latter coughed and began to walk up the stairs.
\'I don\'t want to lose my name!\' Luo Lixi cried out pitifully in her head but there was nobody who could hear her wailing.
Sun Xumei and Madam Tang waved at her as the three men began to climb up the stairs. Throughout the way, Luo Lixi glanced around curiously. She peeked at Housekeeper Wu and wondered, \'Why isn\'t he crying today?\'
Luo Baiyun patted her back and said in irritation, "Xixi, you are moving too much. If you continue, I will throw you down."
"..." Luo Lixi speechlessly glanced at her father. The latter smirked. Finally, she understood her father was taking his revenge.
"Do you want to climb by your tiny legs?" Luo Baiyun\'s smile broadened as he asked.
"Baba~ Don\'t~" Luo Lixi acted adorably and then became a sloth on his chest, slumping against his chest with a hidden pout and an annoyed frown over her face. Luo Qintian turned around and said sternly.
"Why are you threatening a child? If you can\'t hold her, give her to me! Useless!" The old man snorted. Luo Lixi straightened her little body and then spread her arms for Luo Qintian.
Both of them didn\'t care about Luo Baiyun and she went to her grandfather\'s embrace. The fatherly heart of Luo Baiyun felt stifled again. The whole way, all of them were quiet and concentrated on climbing the stairs.
…
Two hours later.
In the holy room of the priest.
Luo Lixi and the boy were placed on cushions. She looked ahead and saw the ultra old priest who was chanting mantras nonstop. After a while, he opened his eyes and glanced at them indifferently.
Luo Lixi blinked her eyes and greeted him respectfully, "Hello, grandpa."
The old priest nodded and smiled benevolently. Housekeeper Wu placed the details related to the two children\'s birth and retreated.
Nobody made any sound for a long time while the old man was busy chanting and calculating. He took the boy\'s details first and while chanting, he frowned nonstop.
"Bring him to me..."
At the priest\'s command, housekeeper Wu picked the child and handed him to the priest. The old man examined something for a long time and then shook his head.
"This child has a fatal fate. Everything is bound to fail in his hand if full control is given. In the future, he should be cautious to not get deceived by people… Put Xiang in his name." When he waved his hand, Housekeeper Wu went ahead to take him back.
Currently, Luo Baiyun was all flustered while Luo Qintian\'s face was black. The old man knew that the priest was a man of few words and would always say the true essence in his speech.
Suddenly, his mood became complicated when he stared at the child in housekeeper Wu\'s hand.
Then, the priest turned to Luo Lixi. He picked up her birth details and started his chanting and calculations. The more he did, the more his face brightened.
"Good gracious! She was born at an extremely auspicious time! This child has the protection of the heavens and she has a phoenix fate! Her better half will be a great leader!" The priest smiled broadly as he patted her head.
"..." Luo Lixi was taken aback by the high praise of the old man. She wondered in bewilderment, \'What is this bullshit?! Phoenix fate and me?! Then, shouldn\'t I have turned into a bird and escaped the fire rather than turning into ashes to become fertilizer for plants?!\'
"Good child! Come to me." The old priest stopped chanting. Luo Lixi stood up hesitantly and then walked up to him. "Your name?"
"Luo Lixi." She spoke out with an obedient expression. The priest nodded and then his eyes fell on the chain in her beck.
"You are a blessed child, however, always listen to your instincts and never go against it. You have a bright future ahead." The old man smiled and then took leaves soaked in holy water.
Then he sprayed the water on Luo Lixi and said gravely, "The name she has is more than enough. This old mortal doesn\'t have a more suitable name to give."
Luo Lixi sighed with relief as she thought, \'You are a good man, old priest. If you had given me another name, I would have hated you!\'
…
On the way down, Luo Baiyun\'s mood was very complicated. He glanced at Luo Lixiang and sighed, \'Why did it turn out like this?! Back then, the old priest didn\'t say those.. . Why this time?!\'
On the other hand, the way Luo Qintian saw Luo Lixi had changed drastically after he heard the priest. Not to say, he had a very favourable impression of her since the point they had met.
He liked obedient and quiet children and Luo Lixi satisfied all those features. A cute, quiet, obedient, thoughtful girl… it was his impression of hers.
\'I don\'t need others as long as I have this girl!\' Luo Qintian thought deeply as his hold tightened around Luo Lixi\'s small body. Luo Lixi was too tired to notice the changes and pouted her small face as she slept on Luo Qintian\'s chest~
