Chapter 59

As he ate his food, he could not stop thinking about his meeting with the little fairy again. The man’s thought was on the girl he did not realize that a few of the doctors were talking to him.

Seeing that he was absentminded for the first time made the others turn to look at each other.

Bai Qi was Doctor Qi’s apprentice who was always sharp. This might be the first time that they had seen him being absentminded. They could not help but speculate that Bai Qi might be facing some difficulties.

Of course, Bai Qi was unaware that his junior were all worrying about him.

After he finished his lunch, Bai Qi went back upstairs to continue his work.

He went to check on some matters that Doctor Qi Zheng had asked him to do earlier before he went back to his office to take a breather.

The moment he sat down, his mind would replay his meeting with the little fairy outside the elevator that afternoon. Meeting her at this hospital was a pleasant surprise

When he met her at He Rong’s wedding, Bai Qi had thought that the girl and her family had moved over to L City. However, it seemed that his thought was all wrong.

.....

The only reason she was in L City was to attend a wedding.

He really did not expect that Zhang Li Xue would be friends with He Rong’s wife.

Wasn’t this a small world?

It seemed that his decision to transfer to Y City was not wrong.

Surprisingly, Zhang Li Xue seemed quite close with his mentor as well.

His lips curled into a smile.

But, what was their relationship?

Bai Qi was tidying up his table when he saw the documents on the table.

Previously, Doctor Qi Zheng had mentioned that he could look for him if he had any questions.

His eyes narrowed as he tapped his fingers on the table a few times. After a while, Bai Qi stood up with the documents in his hand and headed straight to Doctor Qi’s office.

He rapped his knuckles on the door and entered when he received the permission.

Qi Zheng was writing something on the documents. He looked up and smiled when he saw the boy. “Bai Qi, what can I do for you?”

Bai Qi lowered his eyes to hide the guilt in his eyes. “I have a few matters I wanted to check with you.” He slid the documents on the table before explaining his problem.

Qi Zheng leaned over and explained to the boy patiently. Once he finished his explanation, Qi Zheng looked at the boy again. “Do you understand?”

Bai Qi nodded with a serious look on his face. He took the documents and was about to turn around. Just as his hand was touching the doorknob, Bai Qi stopped himself again.

“Is there anything else?” Qi Zheng asked.

“Nothing that important,” Bai Qi said. “Just that... Doctor Qi, what is your relationship with that girl from earlier?”

Qi Zheng frowned. “You mean, Li Xue?” His lips turned into a teasing smile. “What is it? Are you interested in her?”

His hand was gripping the documents tightly. Bai Qi was worried that his mentor would be able to figure out what was going on in his head.

He let out a cough and spoke, “Doctor Qi, don’t tease me. I’m just curious. The last time I saw her was at a friend’s wedding. That girl seemed to be close to my friend’s wife.”

Qi Zheng did not suspect anything from his words. “You could say that Li Xue is my niece.” He was too lazy to properly explained their family’s relationship and had often referred to the siblings as his niece and nephew to anyone who asked.

“I didn’t expect that the two of you would be related,” Bai Qi said.

Qi Zheng smiled. “That’s right. I need to thank you for helping her at the wedding. Fortunately, you were quick enough to give her first aid. Her ankle healed faster with your help.”

Bai Qi nodded. Hearing that the girl was recovering fast made him feel more at ease.

“My niece is someone who liked basketball very much,” Qi Zheng continued. “It would break her heart if she had to stop playing that sport for too long.”

The last time Qi Zheng visited the girl at her house, Zhang Li Xue was watching her brother who was playing basketball with longing.

It was not hard to figure out what was on her mind.

She wanted to go on the court and play with her brothers. However, the others would make her rest.

Bai Qi smiled when he heard Qi Zheng’s words. He knew just how much Zhang Li Xue loved basketball.

Years ago, she had recruited him into her team and called him his first teammate.

Bai Qi had thought that it was a happy thing. Who would have thought that the girl would make him train almost every day?

Fortunately, she still liked to play basketball.

Worried that the doctor might think that he had other intentions, Bai Qi quickly excused himself before he went back to his office.

The boy seemed to be in a good mood as he left his mentor’s office.

Bai Qi could not help but be thankful that heaven seemed to be helping him.

He returned to Y City, wanting to meet the girl from his childhood again.

The girl had taught him how to play basketball and later, he became a fan of the sport. Each time that he played basketball or drink some milk, Bai Qi would always remember the flower fairy in his heart.

The two of them had not kept in contact after he moved away with his family to S Country.

He was always curious to know just what Zhang Li Xue would look like now that she had grown up.

The girl was still as beautiful as the flower fairy he met at her aunt’s wedding.

It was just that... Bai Qi was a bit disappointed that the girl seemed to have forgotten about him.

Even after she heard his name, the girl did not give any reaction.

But this was fine too.

He could take this chance and slowly get to know her again. If he continued to follow Doctor Qi, perhaps he will have a lot of chances to get close to her again.

The thought made him happy again.
