Chapter 123 - 123 Ch. 123 How To Get The Antidote?
Anxia realized she almost lost control and wanted to torture Quinn to force her to give the antidote. Her anger toward Richard was no less than she was toward Quinn. She still couldn’t understand why her husband doubted giving what Quinn wanted.
Anxia knew the argument wouldn’t resolve their problem now, which was the only reason she sealed her mouth and embraced her daughter tightly to calm her emotions.
“Sheylie’s speaking. Can I help you?” Finally, a voice came from the other side after Richard tried to reach someone repeatedly.
“Sheylie, it’s me.”
“Richard? What is it?”
“If my memory serves me right, you are with Moni in Paris, aren’t you?”
“Yeah, I was. But just now, Moni has left with Uncle Stanley and Aunt Meisya. What about you? You’re not going with them? I heard your sister-in-law had given birth. You don’t know?”
“I do, but I can’t right now. Sheylie, I need your help.”
.....
“Interesting. You do realize that I know nothing about robots or something like that, and I won’t be much help with your work problems.”
“Someone poisoned my daughter.”
“…” For a moment, there was no sound from the other side, then, “I will send you my address.”
Richard sighed with relief and then immediately headed to the airport. “M, I’m counting on you.”
“Alright! Head to track number three. No one will see you there.”
There were so many questions running through Anxia’s mind. Who is Sheylie? Plus, why didn’t Richard hesitate even once to admit that he already had a child?
What hurt Anxia the most was that Richard had too many women around him. She hoped Sheylie wasn’t her love rival and wouldn’t hurt Lori like Quinn did. Otherwise, the list of names in the kill list will get longer.
Anxia was lost in her thought and brought back to reality when she felt Richard speed up the car. Her eyes widened in surprise to see a very long trajectory like the flight path of an airplane.
Are they at the airport? Why are they here?
“Xia Xia, make sure you hold our baby.”
Even though she was confused by her husband’s words, Anxia still obeyed and tightened her grip on her daughter. It was firm yet gentle to ensure her embrace wouldn’t hurt Lori.
Richard opened a black box in the middle of the car dashboard, exposing a red button. Richard pressed the button, and instantly, their bodies jerked backward because of the high speed.
All of a sudden, the front part of their car lifted and now floated like a plane taking off into the sky.
“Woaaaaaah!! We fly?” Lori exclaimed in a cheerful tone making Richard smile, but he couldn’t respond to his daughter’s comment because his mind was too restless worrying about the poison in his daughter’s body.
Anxia herself also couldn’t really admire this super advanced car which now had black wings on both sides, considering she was too nervous thinking about Lori.
On the other hand, the clueless Lori squealed in awe endlessly, enjoying the mesmerizing night view with many lights around the rows of houses.
At the same time, far away, where the place was unknown to Richard and Anxia, a middle-aged man walked through a very long building corridor until he came to a large door made of wood and gold.
The middle-aged man knocked on the door, and after getting permission, the man opened the door and entered inside.
“Madam, our spies collected some reports.”
“What is it?”
“It seems that someone poisoned the little miss.”
The woman immediately turned to face her men with an unsightly expression. There were a few wrinkles here and there, but that didn’t reduce the woman’s elegance and dignity.
Her hair was jet black, while her eyes were pale blue. Her face was that of an eastern descendant, but her distinctive blue eyes gave the impression that she was not of pure eastern people.
The shape of her face, jawline, and nose was exactly like Anxia’s. Perhaps if she were in her twenties, people would mistake her for Qiao Anxia.
“Who dares to poison my granddaughter? I won’t let them off the hook. But wouldn’t my daughter be weaker if I were to intervene myself? Being the wife of a successful businessman like Richard Calvin is enough to make her weak, and I don’t want her to get any weaker than this. Give her the necessary information, and let her save my granddaughter herself.”
“As you wish.”

Anxia and Richard watched their poor baby girl being examined by Sheylie worriedly. Sheylie was a young doctor and an expert in medicine using herbs and could mix them herself.
“Her pulse is operating normally, and her breathing has no problem. If what the culprit said was true, there was a chance that the poison would only take effect at noon tomorrow. Only then would her pulse beat weakly, and she fell asleep.”
“Can you make an antidote?”
“Richard, I am not a poison expert, and I could make an antidote if I knew the poison type. I’m sorry, I’m not my mother who immediately recognizes the type of poison at a glance.”
Sheylie’s mother, Kirena, was a poison expert and had retired long ago. She was one of the trustee people of Richard’s uncle, Kinsey Alvianc, with her gifted hand concocting a poison and finding its antidote.
Alas, Kirena was currently settling with her husband somewhere unknown in the western area. Even their own daughter, Sheylie, didn’t know where they stayed. So, the only way to get the antidote for Lori was for Richard to give what the cunning lady wanted.
“Richard, instead of expecting something impossible, why don’t you just give her what she wants?” Anxia could no longer wait longer and decided to voice her mind out.
Richard was tongue-tied and silently wondered if Anxia would suggest the same thing if his wife knew what Quinn asked him for.
