Chapter 108
The situation would have been troublesome if only the enemy was the one capable of controlling bones but for now, with the death magic, such disadvantage is nothing to Damon. Even without saying it out loud, Damon silently acknowledged the power of the death magic is far more vast than many people think.
Hehehehe!
Suddenly Kain let out a shrill laughter land began laughing even louder. He looked like a young man who has lost his sanity, with his eyes bleeding and his mouth foaming.
“You fail to see what’s going on here... the entire allied camp has been surrounded! The first bloods are here. In this chaos, your fancy formations and war weapons are useless. This is where you all will die!” Kain laughed like a madman while Damon frowned slightly but that was the best reaction Kain could get out of him.
Seeing this, Kain stopped smiling and frowned. His eyes revealed a hint of fear as Damon’s identity as the death mage meant he had a large arsenal of abilities. If he wasn’t too moved by anything it meant he should be able to deal with it.
“Death is absolute... Rely only on your power to gain what you want” Damon repeated the words Sol, the old death guardian spirit host said to him in their meeting.
Back then he didn’t understand any of it but right now he was faced with enemies at all sides, Damon finally realized what Sol meant by those words.
“To think I needed to be pushed this far just to understand those words” Damon exhaled as if a major burden had left his shoulders.
.....
Pa!
He slapped his face hard causing his pale cheek to turn red. His eyes seemed to be filled with peace as he let go of the greatsword and watched it fall to the ground! Stabbing in deeply and lodging there.
Bang!
“You were right!” Damon suddenly said, making Kain’s eyes dilate.
“All this while I have been seeing myself amongst these people, feeling myself and deluding myself to believe I am one of them when I am made for a different purpose... who would have thought it would take this to make me understand” Damon said solemnly as he watched the chaos all around.
While Damon didn’t say it, his body was agitated by the countless souls surging in. With each moment that passes, he consumes the soul of at least ten people. His body was getting overloaded since he is yet to refine the souls he has consumed already and more are coming. This is not something he could stop, it was like his body was a magnet for souls.
If nothing is done now, he will end up getting dying eventually even if Kain doesn’t kill him. The decision he made now was not only for his sake but for the dying soldiers from all the four great kingdoms.
“Rise, my army!” Damon said in a calm tone of a thousand voices as and for a moment the entire battlefield seemed to be consumed by darkness.
The darkness spread all over the bone forest anomaly created by his enemy and from it, undead soldiers began putting out!
Kain was still speechless and confused but then in front of him, a figure slowly emerged from the shadow, shaking him to the core!
“Kyle... brother” Kain muttered as he staggered back!
Bang!
Blegh!
Kain spat out a mouthful of blood and looked down only to see an arm sticking deep into his chest and at the other side was the hand holding a heart. Disbelief remained in his eyes as he gazed at the person whom he once called brother.
“You have nothing to fear brother.... We will still achieve our goal but as a part of my master’s great army! It is a privilege! Rejoice!” Undead Kyle declared with passion.
“Rejoice!”
“Rejoice!!”
Hearing the undead army of over a hundred thousand Damon felt intoxicated! All these while he has been fighting like a human, it was time for him to fight like a god!
“HEAR MY ORDER! WIPE THEM OUT! SHOW THESE BLOOD SUCKERS THAT DEATH IS NOT SOMETHING THEY CAN ESCAPE!” Damon bellowed as his words echoed across the entire battlefield gaining the attention of practically everyone.
No matter where on the battlefield or what camp they were, the voice of a man overlapped by thousands of voices resounded, stunning them!
...........
Puff!
Gin skillfully decapitated a human realm vampire and looked around. A firece fight was going on and even the reserve troops like them were forced to fight for survival. They were currently losing and on the verge of defeat.
Even Klien and Cyrus were almost worn out due to lack of mana. They weren’t like Gin the force guardian spirit host who has a tremendous amount of mana or Damon whose werewolf side grants him fast regeneration, allowing him to regenerate his mana just as fast as he spends it.
“Damon? What the hell are you doing?” Gin muttered while exchanging a panicked glance with Cyrus and Klien!
..........
Elsa had just made it to the Elven camp to meet the great general Isabella who had supreme authority over the Elven forces. Just like the human camp they too were thrown into chaos and even the great general tent has been destroyed.
She was still confused about where to look when she heard the voice boom!
Rumble!
Rumble!
Rumble!
In an instant, the ground began to tremble as the hundred thousand plus undead soldiers began racing forward like crazed beings searching for who to slaughter.
Seeing the undead, be it the humans, orcs, elves, or dwarves, everyone was terrified but strangely these undead soldiers only attacked the vampires!
No matter what disguise these vampires wore, Damon’s undead army could sniff out the blood suckers like dogs and gang up on them.
In just an instant the tide of battle changed and even without the humans or other races making a move, the undead army kept bulldozing their way through the enemy forces, adding to their numbers!
.......
“HEAR MY ORDER! WIPE THEM OUT! SHOW THESE BLOOD SUCKERS THAT DEATH IS NOT SOMETHING THEY CAN ESCAPE!”
The words struck the hearts of all the human generals like lightning making them shudder in fear. The undead army and the strong stench of death looming over the battlefield was enough for them to figure out what was happening!
“No! We killed her not too long ago! How could she have returned?” Duke Hail wore an ashened expression on his face while he spoke.
Cassius Blood too wore a stern look on his face. The arrival of the death mage should be good news to the blood clan yet this one was protecting those he was meant to kill!
.......
Unaware of the effects of his actions on the rest of the world, Damon remained seated in a cross-legged position as he began refining all the souls he had consumed already. In a short time, he had already reached the peak of the warrior realm and still pushing. As long as nothing goes wrong, his ascension into the champion realm is a possibility.
By his side were Kyle and Kain, standing guard while he cultivated with a heavy heart. He could feel the negative emotions directed toward him after his undead army made their appearance.
In fact, even some human soldiers began running in the direction of the voice in a bid to search for the owners of the voice but the undead army quickly cut down everyone who dared get close to the bone forest. Within it, Damon’s identity was still a secret.
[What have you done! Not only have you made an enemy out of the humans but the blood clan as well! Who will protect you now?] Death’s voice seemed restless.
He had always regarded Damon as the smartest host to have ever been born but today, he had been proven wrong.
“My power is more than enough” Damon replied dryly and continued to cultivate.
With each soul refined he drew close to the next level.
Unknown to him his skin was turning paler, while the black cracks kept spreading, covering more than half of his face now. It felt like his cracked skin would peel off at any moment.
Greer!
Grrrr!
Grrrr!
Dark clouds began gathering above the bone forest as countless bolts of lightning began surging violently! Beneath it, Damon couldn’t help but look up with a frown. He had been warned of this before by death and arch mage Kratos.
“Heaven’s tribulation!” He gasped with a hint of fear in his eyes.
His last breakthrough from the human realm to the warrior realm brought about a heavens tribulation that almost took his life.
It is said that the heaven’s tribulation is a random event that rarely occurs. One may cultivate through his life and not even expreinec it and even those who experience it, only go through it once.
But this was Damon’s second time already!
