Chapter 637
Since the fight was announced for the next few days we thoroughly analyzed Vazasse fighting style. He had extraordinary stamina and endurance, and usually, when he saw an opportunity, he would push through with long combinations of attacks at high speed forcing mistakes in his opponents to finish them off.
He was using a heavy energy cleaver, a shield made of one of the sturdiest materials known in the Ixan empire, and also had another energy blade attached to his thick tail, which allowed him to do crazy combinations.
In the fights I saw, he seemed like quite a tough opponent, but not as tough as Sevva. Still, there were rumors of him never actually fighting seriously. If those were true, I could even lose with that guy, since many believed he was actually stronger than the champion himself. I even noticed small indications which could support those rumors.
For example, there were instances when he showed up, just very briefly, much higher speed than he normally presented.
Druoag did his best to imitate this style, and we fought many, many times. After one of those sparring sessions we both were leaving the training facility, which was booked by Yagg completely, so I was quite used to it being empty, but this time it wasn\'t. There was a crowd outside, directly by the glass sliding doors.
- Maybe your fans - said the former champion.
- Maybe...
They reacted as soon they noticed us. The parking lot was behind them, and there were actually enough of them to completely block it from my eyes. They saw us more or less the moment we saw them, and visibly prepared for us getting out.
The see-through doors slid open, and we stepped outside to just get blasted by a cacophony of screams and shouts. I couldn\'t understand shit, mainly because I didn\'t know the language they were using, but even if I could, there were very slim chances of picking anything from that entangled mess of words.
I rose my hands, thinking that maybe they will shut up, but they didn\'t. Druoag then yelled at them on top of his lungs, and like a spell from a magic wound, they became quiet.
- They are Vazasse fans, and clearly want to just yell names at you - he explained to me, still locking his eyes at the crowd.
- I don\'t care. I just want to pass through, and get home - I responded and took a step forward.
The wall of bodies didn\'t budge, and I immediately understood, that it will remain like this until I use violence. Unfortunately for them, I had help. Druoag suddenly grabbed my shoulder and moved ahead of me. His sheer presence was enough for them to move away. They clearly were scared of the former champion.
He pulled me after himself and practically shoved me inside the flying vehicle, which took off heading straight to my apartment. For a moment I lost sight of him, but I quickly rushed towards the window to watch as he also boarded his vessel.
It was quite a strange experience, especially since nothing even remotely similar happened to me before. To be frank I was very glad it was over, and also that it ended without me having to confront those people, to make it past them. Maybe I could jump or something, but for some reason, I was quite sure they would just follow me, and if they had to, surround my vehicle.
Unfortunately, it was not the end, and I learned it quite quickly, as I landed next to my hotel. Even from above, I could see the massive crowd blocking the entrance.
- Fuck - escaped my mouth.
There were so many of them, that they actually partially blocked the street, and vehicles moving on the ground couldn\'t pass, but what was worse they totally cut off my ability to get inside the building.
Well... Maybe I could climb the wall or something, but let\'s not be ridiculous.
As I was thinking what the hell should I do, and the crowd partially surrounded my ship, shouting and yelling on top of one another, another one, bigger, landed in the vicinity. It was a familiar vehicle belonging to my trainer.
Druoag stepped out and immediately started moving towards me. Nobody even attempted to stop him, and I doubt they could. He was massive and clearly pissed off, which was enough for the surrounding aliens to back off.
He stopped next to my ship and tapped on the roof. I took it as a signal to step pot.
- What the hell is happening? - I asked.
- They are upset you are fighting with Vazasse, because they think it\'s too early for you, and you don\'t deserve this opportunity - he explained.
- I didn\'t ask for that...
- Just ignore them and get inside. Soon the authorities will make them go away.
I shook my head and sighed. With his assistance, it was easy to get inside the hotel, and for some reason, nobody tried to follow me inside. Just as I got in the lobby, a few floating ships, in colors of the local government, landed in front of the hotel, and the crowd immediately started leaving.
- I already hired some security for you - Bashan\'s voice took me by surprise.
I turned around, and saw him, moving towards the door.
- Then where the hell are they? - I asked a bit angry.
He smiled.
- Wanted to see how you will deal with the situation. They will be with you from tomorrow.
- This is not funny.
- This is part of your life now. You are a famous person, and people will get behind you, just as they will stand against you. Druoag also went through this.
For a moment he clearly drifted away with the memories.
- Good times - he added as he returned back to reality. - Anyway, have a good day.
I sighed again and went straight to my apartment to eat something, but more importantly, take a long shower and wash the fatigue off myself.
