Chapter 165 - Disappearance

Chapter 165 - Disappearance

Once Yvonne had heard the truth behind the matter, she was disillusioned about the momentary dream that she had made up of her smooth sailing future as a businesswoman in this Kingdom.

The rest of the time inside the store {Golden Tailoring} was spent with Raylene greeting the other ladies of high society that she chanced upon in the store.

Along with her, the little girl was also introduced to these ladies as they had only heard about the daughter of the Earl\'s family but never got the chance to meet her.

Yvonne on the other hand had her spirit at an all-time low as she followed her mother like a lifeless doll with nothing to say or do.

Raylene had observed her gloomy appearance and tried to cheer her up by asking her which attire would suit her.

\'Vonny was a great help the last time, maybe this will make her excited about our shopping trip.\' She guessed and then began showing her the dresses that had caught her eye.

Since Madam Norma did not make clothes for children, Yvonne only had to assist her fashion dead mother to pick out some new clothes for herself.

"Not that one, get the blue dress. It matches your aura and accentuates your body." Yvonne directed her mother towards the right path.

Her assistance in choosing the right clothes made Raylene pick out only the dresses which suited her body shape and made her look pleasing to the eye.

Madam Norma had been conversing with a couple of other noble ladies when they had heard how Yvonne would explain how a certain dress would or wouldn\'t look good on her mother.

Her precise and clear explanations on why Raylene should wear this dress instead of the other one impressed these ladies as they stepped close in their direction.

Yvonne was busy teaching her mother the fashion do\'s and don\'ts that she had not observed the eyes which were now focused on her.

"So Mama would look good in this?" Raylene held up a blue figure-hugging gown that had golden flowers embroidered all over it.

\'Didn\'t she just choose a blue dress?\' Yvonne recalled and glanced at the two similar colored dresses.

Madam Norma knew what the correct choice here was but she did not make her thoughts known as she waited to hear what the little girl might say.

The little girl scrutinized that dress meticulously and after a few seconds, she shook her head in rejection.

She then stepped in the direction of a dark forest green dress that had the same design as the dress in Raylene\'s hand.

This one was better suited than the blue dress as it complimented her eyes and also accentuated her curves.

Madam Norma smiled and then stepped in their direction, standing next to the child.

"Your daughter knows what is right for you, Countess. You should listen to her." She interjected while nodding at the choice that Yvonne had made.

\'When did she appear here?\' Yvonne wondered as she looked up at the newcomer.

Raylene did not have to be told by an outsider about how good her daughter\'s selection was.

Nonetheless, she appreciated the kind words that the owner of the store had spoken in regards to Yvonne.

While the two women soon began discussing the clothes which should be packed and sent to their mansion, the other two women stepped closer to Yvonne.

Never having engaged in conversation with them, Yvonne could only greet them with the proper etiquettes that she had been taught and stood at the side in silence.

"Can you help us out as well?" One of the women inquired as she shot an awkward smile.

At first, Yvonne was confused about what they needed her help for but that doubt was cleared when the women pointed at the clothes.

\'Do I look like a saleswoman to them?\' The child sneered in her heart but she knew that she could not retaliate in an offensive manner towards them.

Nodding in agreement, she walked alongside the women towards the other side of the store.

When Raylene had finished completing her transaction with Madam Norma, she turned towards the place where she had left her daughter and a wave of panic hit her when she noticed that the spot was empty.

Looking around, she could not find her child anywhere and this made the worried mother almost break down in a heap of tears.

Madam Norma was baffled when she saw the panic that was evident in Raylene\'s face and upon inquiring about it, she was informed about her daughter\'s disappearance.

Raylene did not waste any time and rushed towards the door where the maids stood, almost as if they stood guard at the door.

Paula was questioned whether she had seen her little miss coming this way but the negative reply made the Countess to be both grateful and frustrated.

\'If she wasn\'t seen outside then she must be somewhere inside the store.\' Raylene deduced and then went back inside.

In a few moments, the entire store was searched for the little girl of the Earl\'s family who went missing after her mother had taken her sights off of her child.

Just as Raylene was about to send word to her husband about Yvonne\'s disappearance, she saw the little girl climbing down the stairs with two women next to her.

The worried mother rushed towards her and pulled her into her embrace before Yvonne could reach the bottom of the staircase.

The women accompanying Yvonne were stunned when they saw that the Countess was so anxious and realized that they might have caused trouble to her.

While the servants from the store were looking for Yvonne downstairs, she had ventured upstairs with these two women which had resulted in the servants not finding her anywhere.

Yvonne was surprised, to say the least when she felt her mother\'s trembling shoulders as she hugged her tight.

\'What\'s with her?\' The little girl wondered as she had no clue why she was in this bone-crushing embrace at this moment.

"I\'m so glad you are alright…" Raylene chanted repeatedly while continuing to hug her.

Yvonne patted her back as though she was comforting her mother who could not let go of the hold over her.

Madam Norma spoke to the women and that was how she knew that these women had taken Yvonne upstairs to ask her which dress would look good on them.

Raylene finally calmed down after a few minutes and then relaxed her hold over the little girl.

Yvonne had kept her discomfort aside and tolerated the suffocating hug until her mother had regained her composure.

This time, Raylene did not let go of the child and instead carried her in her arms.

"Apologies, Countess. We should not have taken the child without asking for your permission." The first lady expressed her apologies for what she had done.

"We caused you a lot of trouble." The other lady added as she shot an awkward smile.

Though Raylene was seething in anger at these women she nodded her head to indicate that she had accepted their apologies and turned away.

Madam Norma felt distressed that her patron had received such discomfort while in her store and did not know how to make it up to her.

Thankfully, one of her employees had given her a suggestion which she had agreed without a moment\'s hesitation.

"To express our apologies for this inconvenience, I would like to create a dress for Miss Yvonne." She offered while looking at the mother and daughter who remained close to each other.
