Chapter 240 - An Unhappy Situation
At Stevan\'s funeral, she could not attend because he was still very weak, so when she was allowed to go home, she immediately asked Dean to take her to the tomb.
During the trip, Bryana just stared at the view from the car window. she looked sluggish in her white overalls dress combined with a black blazer and pinned some of her hair back.
Dean just silently understood Bryana who was grieving. He focused on driving until he arrived at a public cemetery in the south Jakarta area right where Clarissa was buried a few years ago.
bryana exhaled roughly while staring at the quiet dining atmosphere until Dean opened the door for her, allowing her to get out immediately.
"Be careful," said Dean as he walked along leading Bryana through the many tombs that were lined up neatly with black ceramics evenly distributed with headstones that were quite clear, there were also graves that still had red soil.
Bryana continued to walk with an uneasy feeling until Dean stopped her near the tomb which was still new and the flowers were still visible all over the top of the tomb.
"Dad..." Bryana mumbled, fingering the tombstone with the name "Stevan Darlene" on it. Her eyes filled with tears until she slowly sat up and hugged the gravestone. Tears slowly fell from her eyes as the memories of every moment with her father spun like crumpled tapes in her memory.
"Why did you leave so soon? I haven\'t had time to make you happy... I haven\'t had time to show my devotion as a good daughter ..." Bryana said in her sobs.
Dean squatted down, using his knees as a support, then rubbed Bryana\'s shoulders. "Let go of him. This is the best way for him. he\'s no longer sick, depressed, and he\'s happy enough to see you happy."
"I don\'t have to pare...s anymore...I can\'t stop regretting when I was indifferent to him, leaving him while he was still in a coma until he came to his senses and came here when he wasn\'t fully recovered just to get me back with you. He came just to make me happy ...," said Bryana, still hugging the tombstone.
"He even continued to hug me during the accident, making me stay safe while he was so weak. He sacrificed for me ... I will miss him very much ... I will always miss his gentle speech and the warm smile he always gave me and the kids...." Bryana continued to cry until her face was full of tears. "I will miss him so much every time...."
dean sighed, then took a handkerchief from his trouser pocket and wiped Bryana\'s tears, then looked at her intensely. "You know, a person\'s life and death are in God\'s hands. Learn to be sincere so that dad is calm by God\'s side. he knows you love him, he also loves you very much, you have to show your determination by letting him go, then he will be at peace in heaven. Maybe he has smiled peacefully to meet his wife at God\'s side."
"I just can\'t stop regretting that he hasn\'t had the chance to see Aidyn, just like my mother hasn\'t had the chance to see Calvin. I feel so devastated, both my parents died at an early age, not yet satisfied with enjoying life. they are always plagued by discomfort until the end of their lives," said Bryana, wiping her tears with a handkerchief from Dean.
Dean sighed, embraced Bryana from the side, and said, "As humans, we never know what our fate will be, we can\'t choose how our destiny will be. Our destiny has been outlined by God since we grew up as a fetus until we were born as humans. live life according to plan. God controls everything, gave us life, so we must be sincere when God takes that life," he said wisely.
"Yes, I know. I just feel this is very hard for me ... I don\'t have parents anymore, Aidyn doesn\'t have the chance to see his grandfather again...."
"You still have my mother who is also your mother, there is me and people who will always love you. I\'ll don\'t let you feel alone," Dean said then put his arm around Bryana, trying to calm her down.
Bryana was still crying in Dean\'s arms. the image of when she was a child and always being pampered by her father and mother with Raymond seemed to keep replaying in her memory, making the feeling of longing and loss even more felt. now, only the man who embraced her will always be her support, become her life partner in hardship or joy, hoping that time will separate them someday when they become grandparents.
Dean let go of Bryana\'s arms and stared at her intensely. "Here I promise, swear in front of father\'s final resting place. I swear I will never leave you or hurt you. Trying to stay afloat because the wheel of life continues to spin where problems sometimes hit, I will always defend our marriage. I will take care of you for the rest of my life, as father always wanted because I sincerely love you."
Dean wiped Bryan\'s tears with his thumb. "You are my love, mother of my children, I will not let these tears fall because of a wound in the heart."
Bryana hugged Dean, comfortable with the promise he made, making her feel less alone. "Never break those promises because only you can understand me."
dean nodded and tightened his arms while rubbing Bryana\'s back. "I will not deny it. Because my life is only for you and our children."
After a few minutes of talking to each other in front of the grave, Dean invited Bryana to stand up and return to the car. He guided his wife carefully. "Does your stomach still hurt?" he asked.
"Yes, but I have to get used to starting activities slowly so that I can recover quickly," answered Bryana who walked while holding her stomach.
"We\'re going home and you should rest, just do activities as recommended by the doctor," said Dean.
"Yeah, I miss Calvin and Sofia too. They haven\'t had our attention for the past few days," said Bryana, remembering her two children at home.
"Yes, I will ask Dany and several other bodyguards to always keep Aidyn safe at the hospital."
"I will miss my little son too. We have to go to see him often until he is allowed to be discharged from the hospital," said Bryana with an amused smile, remembering Aidyn\'s cute and handsome face with a bluish face similar to Dean, sometimes looking a little like her father.
"Of course, because you have to breastfeed him. I will always take you to the hospital, make time for you, let David and Hera handle office matters," Dean said until he stopped walking because he had arrived in the car. he immediately took his wife in and drove the car home.
