Chapter 200 - To Hate You
"There you are, son. I almost searched the entire hospital for you," his father who now stood beside him commented.
When Cain did not comment his father looked in the direction he was looking.
"Oh, Kimmy is here. She ran away from her mother just a while ago," his father commented.
"Kimmy?" Cain whispered.
"Oh, that\'s the girl sitting there. Her name is Kimberly Hansen but her nickname is Kimmy. She\'s Princess Kimberly the only daughter of Her Highness Leila. She came with her mother to the hospital. Her mother was looking for her."
"They were in my consulting room when Kimmy saw some pictures sent by her friend. When she showed it to her mother, her mother simply told her to ignore it and \'let it be\' which pissed Kimmy off. They eventually had an argument after which she burst into tears and ran out…."
"Argument because?" Cain pondered.
"It\'s their personal matter son. Let\'s not talk about it. They are facing some family issues and it\'s not good to talk about other people\'s lives. Come with me, I will introduce you to Her Highness. I also need to tell her that her daughter is safe so she won\'t worry."
"Oh, I see. Okay, dad, you go ahead and tell her, I will follow you soon," Cain uttered.
"Alright, son. I\'ll be leaving, come soon," Daniel said to which Cain nodded.
Even after his father left Kimmy was still sobbing on the bench. He walked toward her as he grabbed a handkerchief from his pocket. He stopped in front of her and handed her the handkerchief before saying, "Here use this…"
The girl did not even bother to look at him but she took the handkerchief and whispered, "Thank you."
She used it to wipe her tears and Cain was surprised when Kimmy blew her nose as well before returning it to him saying, "Thank you."
Cain could not help chuckling as he said, "You keep it. It\'s yours now."
Kimmy looked at the handkerchief she was holding and said out loud, "See? Even you don\'t want this back because it\'s too dirty, so I don\'t know what is wrong with her… He is so dirty but she keeps letting him back."
"You can clean this and it will look new. Maybe she keeps letting him back in hope that he will change somehow," Cain commented with a smile.
"That\'s outrageous. That man has no hope anymore," the girl whispered. Cain could tell she was very angry about the man he was talking about.
"You must not lose hope and I\'m sure she\'s thinking the same...:" Cain commented next.
The girl had already stopped sobbing but was still sniffing once in a while.
"Thank you for giving me this handkerchief. Can you let me be, please? I just want to be alone," the girl whispered.
"Yeah. I\'ll leave you to yourself now. I hope you feel better soon," he whispered.
"I hope so too. Thank you…" the girl whispered, her head and eyes still looking down. Cain sighed and turned around to leave her. He smiled as he walked towards his father\'s clinic.
He felt something weird towards the girl, something foreign which he had never felt towards any other woman before. The girl looked young and if he was not mistaken, she was only a teenager.
"What\'s wrong with you Cain? Getting attracted to such a young girl? You\'re already thirty-two!\'
He grabbed his mobile phone and searched for Kimberly Hansen as he walked in the hallway.
"Eighteen?" he whispered looking at Kimberly Hansen\'s profile. It turned out she was just eighteen…
*****
Cain sighed and shook his head before turning off the shower. Kimmy was obviously not aware that he had already met her in the past. Who would have thought that years later, Kimmy\'s mother would ask for an arranged marriage between him and Kimmy?
He was honestly glad when he found out about it. He was very excited to finally meet the grown-up Kimberly Hansen whom he was smitten from the first time he saw her. He could not wait to meet Kimmy and show how serious he was about entering a relationship with her and making things work between them.
During that time his mother was sick so it was hard for him to come to Country B as soon as his vacation started. But still, he somehow reached and asked to meet Kimmy but the latter refused to see him saying she was not feeling good. He went to her house to visit but her mother said Kimmy was resting.
He already felt that something was off at that time but he brushed it off since he liked Kimmy too much. Upon that her mother Leila was reassuring him about her daughter.
He had to leave because of his mother and it took him a lot of effort to see Kimmy two days before the wedding. But she refused to see him once again saying that it was bad luck to see the bride before the wedding so they were unable to meet each other again.
Cain could not help but mockingly laugh at himself recalling how stupid he was before. He was so blinded by his desire to marry Kimmy that he failed to notice the hints that were right in front of his eyes. Hints that were telling him that the bride was unwilling to marry him.
"Stupid Cain! Look at how stupid you were before and you\'re doing the same thing again. When will you learn huh?!" he growled before stepping out of the bathroom.
He looked at Kimmy who was working at her table through the one way mirror wall. He also noticed how she looked at the door of his private room every once in a while as if she was waiting for him to come out.
Cain sighed deeply. He looked at Kimmy intently and whispered, "I\'m supposed to hate you… Punish you for what you\'ve done Kimberly…"
