Chapter 245 | 245 | The Battle for Servusarator: Minos Rebellion Part 1

The Aegis Fleet consisted of over half a hundred warships, ranging from frigates, destroyers, cruisers, logistics ships, and most importantly, aircraft carriers. These warships were amongst the newest constructed armada of the Construction Yard Vulcan.

Within the fleet was the following organizations of the United Military. From the United Marines, United Army, United Special Task Force, and the United Defense Force. The last two were the newest military organizations under the United Military.

The United Special Task Force was an organization that handles special task that usually involves behind enemy lines. Whether it\'d be disrupting the logistics, destroying supply depots, or impeding transport capabilities, the USTF was the military organization to rely upon.

On the other hand, the United Defense Force was an organization with the sole focus to protect the country of the United World Government. They mostly consist of reserves that would be deployed when the sovereignty of the nation becomes at risk of hostile alterations.

It was mostly the USTF handling the duties of the Special Response Division since their latest policies of not handling anything that didn\'t include the influence of magicraft. As such, when dealing with hostile entities, the USTF were reliable for the United Military to deploy.

Naturally, with the disbandment of the Special Response Division, the deployments of the USTF would further increase, making them busier in the following months. Fortunately, the USTF was only second to the Special Response Division in the expertise of handling magicraft related troubles.

At any rate, most of these military organizations boarded amphibious warships and carriers to lessened their deployment time over the island of Servusarator. After all, when the bombardment in the western coastline ends. The United Military would officially begin the invasion.

Amongst the warships of the Aegis Fleet was the capital battleship, UNS Trinity of Solace. Its commanding officer was none other than Vice Admiral Charlotte, who had been reassigned back to the military after the declaration of the Minos Rebellion.

Despite being the Prime Minister of the United World Government, there were no laws halting them from joining the war effort. As it was a rebellion, Charlotte found the need to destroy its flames.

"But... I didn\'t think of all the states under us. The State of Minos would be the one rebelling." The vice admiral remarked, gazing at the western coastline of the island of Servusarator. It was difficult to pretend that she wasn\'t disappointed. After all, the State of Minos was the first tribe they had liberated.Nôv(el)B\\\\jnn

"And those two brothers have authority over two organizations within the United World Government, whether it\'d be the Special Response Division or the Minos Government."

"It seems that we have underestimated how far such hatred go." Beside the vice admiral was Major Laplace, who had been deployed to ensure the success of the operation. Laplace then continued "The Minos Tribe had been compliant since the beginning, but we never knew what went through their minds while collaborating with us." Stay updated through empire

"Well, you aren\'t wrong about that. No matter how much we pretend to be in the rational side of things. There are some things we simply couldn\'t ignore. However, the moment they declared their rebellion against us. They have already become the enemy of the United World Government."

"The punishment for betraying the oath that had not even lasted a decade would be heavy." Charlotte remarked, gazing at the coastlines with a saddened expression. She turned her attention towards the dragoness and asked.

"The whole debacle in the City of Dawn. I feel that I\'m not totally informed about the specifics of the operations that occurred within it. I understand why you wouldn\'t trust someone affected by some strange mind control shenanigans, but at the very least, I\'d like to be informed about it."

Hearing the words of the vice admiral, Laplace found herself in silence. A wry smile emerged on her face as she patted the head of Charlotte, who flinched when her head met the pale and soft hands of the dragoness. "In due time, Charlotte. After the rebellion, Abraham should take helms of the country."

While Charlotte was disappointed that Laplace wouldn\'t immediately tell her the specifics, she was surprised to hear the news about Abraham finally beginning to take control over the country. She had previously thought that he would continue to act as a spectator.

But it appears that the recent troubles this month had prompted him to be active within the United World Government. She didn\'t know why, but she was relieved by the news. After all, Abraham had been absent since the creation of the country.

If he was to start giving orders about what to do, the United World Government might reach heights previously thought to be attainable by experts around the country. Perhaps, a golden age would begin from the moment he takes the helms of the country.

"That is a piece of good news, Laplace. I was wondering when I should return from my job as the Prime Minister of the UWG. It seems that the time is near." Charlotte remarked with a satisfied smile. Her suffering was finally about to reach its end.

"What do you mean retire, Charlotte? It has merely been over a year since you became the Prime Minister. Your term lasts for about a decade. So, you have eight years left to take care of the country." Laplace said with a smile, earning the annoyed grunt of the vice admiral.

"Why do you have to punch me back to reality, Laplace? Give me some time to enjoy these delusions of mine." Charlotte uttered, her annoyance as clear as ever, plastered throughout her face.

Before the two could continue their conversation, an intelligence officer entered the bridge of the capital battleship, saluting and quickly giving a report. "Only a minute is left before the beginning of Operation Rebound, Vice Admiral Charlotte."

Hearing the words of the intelligence officer, Charlotte nodded in understanding and turned her gaze towards her subordinates. It has been a while since she had commanded the battleship, UNS Trinity of Solace. But it was good to be back, far from the paperwork of governance.

"Prepare the bombardment of the selected targets within the western coastline."

Her words resounded throughout the interiors of the bridge as alarms quickly rang within the capital battleship. Every personnel in the warship were moving in an efficient manner, preparing for battle. The mission of the UNS Trinity of Solace was to bombard the given targets within the data link.

These targets were thoroughly investigated after being discovered by reconnaissance drones who had soared through the skies of Servusarator, performing a recon sweep. There was nothing the rebel forces of Minos could do about it as the task of handling drones was beyond the capabilities of the air defenses.

The naval guns of the UNS Trinity of Solace slowly turned towards its respective targets, with its barrels turning for better angles. After the preparation was complete, the personnel of the capital battleship awaited further orders from the commanding officer, Vice Admiral Charlotte.

"Alright, the operation has begun. Start the bombardment of the western coastline of Servusarator!" Charlotte ordered as the minute before the operation had already gone by. Surrounding warships began sending tomahawks towards the skies while aircrafts were being thrown out by the carriers nearby.

The first phase of Operation Rebound was a complete assault of all military infrastructure within the island of Servusarator. The assault would be in the form of complete bombardment, which would thoroughly disable the infrastructure that could mount a defense against an invasion.

The second phase of the operation was the invasion. From the sea, to the skies, the United Military would make their landing over the western coast of Servusarator and ensure that everything would be taken over in an orderly manner. Civilians captured within prison camps would also be rescued in the process.

The third phase was the dismantling of the Minos Government. This would take place in the capital city of Minos, which resided in the town formerly called as Servusarator. According to intelligence, the War Minister was currently residing in a bunker somewhere in the city.

Obviously, the United Military simply couldn\'t bomb the place as there was still a civilian population within the capital city.

"The United Navy is really throwing a lot of bombs towards these rebels." Laplace couldn\'t help but grinned, observing the naval guns keep firing at the western coastlines of the island. The interiors of the battleship slightly trembled, but it was unnoticeable when compared to the ambient vibrations.

"The United World Government doesn\'t take any rebellions. To be honest, I wonder if they haven\'t even seen what had occurred within the southern colony of Austerus. It makes me wonder how foolish the War Minister is." Charlotte stated while staring at the missiles soaring through the skies.

"A lot of policies will need revisions after this. You sure do have a lot to do, Charlotte." Laplace smirked while leaving the confines of the bridge. She had been personally ordered by Abraham to stand back from fighting with the United Military against the Minos Rebellion.

After all, he needed the island of Servusarator intact. It also wouldn\'t do good for the remaining civilians to have giant craters scattered throughout their islands, which was practically the land that made them one of the major food suppliers of the United World Government.

"I\'ll be with my daughter, so don\'t worry about me running off somewhere." The dragoness waved her hand while Charlotte stared at her back. "It even makes me more worried when you announced that." The vice admiral muttered to herself, but turned her attention back to the ongoing operation.
