Chapter 360: The Tormented One is Invincible, Ready to End it All

"I mean, it’s clearly not working, so why bother."

People outside could only talk as they saw Stark, Lilith and Sora sit and do nothing.

While on the other hand, Clever was repeatedly trying to damage [Tormented One], with no result whatsoever.

At this point, the old man, who was supposed to be the strongest of this trial, and one of the best domination users, was growing angrier and angrier.

"Let me try something," Follower groaned, "The faster we do it, then the quicker we can get out of here."

Follower had surprisingly no grudge with Clever as the old man hadn’t done anything to upset him, it was only against the only three he wanted revenge.

"Hold it in place," Follower ordered, and Clever did as told, restraining the Tormented One.

Demon’s Grasp!

He transformed his hands into claws, then while making sure to not be noticed, he arrived behind the creature and plunged them deep inside its body.

"Got it, now all I need to do is..."

Suddenly, Follower’s eyes widened.

Five seconds passed, but nothing happened.

"That thing..." he mumbled, "It doesn’t have a heart, I can’t kill it."

Before he could remove his arm from the monster’s back, it broke free from the restraints and punched Follower so hard he almost shattered the barrier around the [Hollow Tower Square].

-64,834!

This would be equivalent to around 4,000,000 damage, by the way.

They truly weren’t kidding when the panel said that it had no skill, but insane defense and attack.

"How are they supposed to defeat it?!"

"What the hell? They’re all fucked!"

"Chosen has to do something now, right?"

Clever could hold it off for weeks if he wanted, as he didn’t need to focus to give his statue orders, but he didn’t feel like doing the work for all these people.

But regardless of that, hours passed.

All the participants were now sitting on the cold ground, while Clever [Golden Statue] kept Tormented One in place, sending him in the opposite direction whenever he approached too much.

He was extremely slow, so it took him around 10 minutes to traverse the square anyway.

Strangely enough, no one in the real world, even those that knew nothing was gonna happen, kept watching.

They returned to their daily tasks, like working or talking to one another, but still kept their phones and screens in case of any development.

Lilith was meditating, her eyes closed, gathering more strength to be able to fight.

Sora on the other hand was playing with her vines, twirling them.

"That’s my daughter," Mike Gardenis laughed as he saw Sora act so cutely, something very weird as it didn’t happen often, actually, it didn’t happen at all.

Was she this comfortable with these people?

Follower was punching the barrier of the [Hollow Tower Square] repeatedly while mumbling unintelligible words, as if speaking to someone else.

His wounds were already healed thanks to his other passive he acquired: [Godless Regeneration].

Clever also just closed his eyes, resting.

Stark was the only one not doing anything, observing all the others.

He could sense Follower’s gaze on him sometimes, but every time he looked, the man would go back to punching the barrier.

He looked above, and saw the three moons still looking at them, their pupils locked on him precisely.

"..."

But Stark didn’t want to stay here for too long.

He didn’t feel like staying in this place any more than he has to, especially now that only one commander remained, and that the moons were within his grasp.

If he killed them, all of this could end.

He also wanted to get rid of Clever and Follower, since they could cause problems.

But as he expected, the moons would never go down, and quite frankly it was impossible for them since they were too big.

[If you kill all three moons, then the true form of the apostle will reveal itself.]

He clearly remembered that panel appearing before him.

If the [Moon] Apostle was in his true form, then he probably wouldn’t be able to escape anymore.

Basically, Stark needed to find a way to kill all three moons, as well as Clever and Follower, in one attack.

’Hey,’ Stark thought, directly linking himself to the angel above, who still looked down on this trial with his otherworldly gaze, his hand raised.

[Yes, master?]

’Can you manage to destroy all three moons,’ this was the simple task he gave it.

Stark believed it would be difficult.

The first time he threw his spear, at the beginning of the trial, all the moons did was get out of the way when their friend was targeted, thus only resulting in one moon being killed.

Plus, as Stark feared killing Sora, he had deliberately reduced the output of the spear, not by saying it loudly, but because the angel subconsciously understood what Stark wanted and followed through.

But now that he wanted to go full annihilation route, there was no need to hold back.

[Yes, I can do that, and even end it with the spear crashing in the middle of the square.]

The angel said in a neutral and holy voice.

’Amazing, then please do that in exactly three minutes.’

[Alright.]

In response to its master request, the angel, who stood idle for all these hours, suddenly moved, taking a more appropriate stance to unleash all of its power.

Though it made sure to not reveal that it was planning to throw the spear, as otherwise it might ruin Stark’s plan.

The moment the angel moved, Follower immediately stopped punching the barrier and looked up, and Clever also woke up from his nap.

His golden statue instinctively placed around 50 giant golden hands around him to protect him.

They could sense that something was gonna happen soon if they don’t move, as Stark’s patience couldn’t be infinite.

He was crazy enough to tell the two girls he would kill them at any moment if he felt like it, so no wonder.

But surprisingly, the three moons didn’t even bother moving or staring at the angel even though they sensed its presence.

And the reason was simple:

"There’s three of us, no chance he can eliminate us," Moone laughed

"His previous spear hit one of us, then disappeared, meaning that with only one spear, we can just escape and attack," Motwo added.

"Just stay on guard, if he throws it, make sure to escape, the one that’s been targeted will undeniably regenerate since he can’t use it again."

They were just this confident in their power.

Were the foolish? Or was it because they were given the [Apostle] title that they thought they were in invincible in this trial and because it was their domain?

In the end, they would soon realize that they were dumb for thinking like that.

"Use your protection amulet when I throw the spear," Stark ordered Lilith and Sora.

"You’re gonna use it?!" Lilith was baffled, "But what about you?!"

"Got the [Revive Token], so it’s fine," he didn’t reveal he could also revive himself one more time with his talent, but better keep it a secret.

After doing that, Stark got up, grabbing the attention not only those in the trial, but in the real world too.

"HE GOT UP!"

"Shit, shit, what’s gonna happen?"

"Chosen, are you gonna the thing?!"

Stark arrived in the middle of the [Hollow Tower Square], and even [Tormented One] stopped what he was doing as the boy approached.

He put his palms together, making sweat drip from everyone’s brow, even those outside.

And then...

"Goodbye, everybody," he smiled, a vortex of aura spinning in his eyes, as if he was insane, "ANGEL, THROW THE SPEAR!"

The outside world exploded (not literally) as those words were uttered.
