Chapter 776: Going Back To Classes
Before I knew it, the weekend ended and it was back to school once again. Not that I actually needed to go since I was a Special Class student but I had a mission to complete this time so I had to go.
I went through the usual Pyromancy, Iatromancy and Umbramancy classes in the day before I went for my Lumenmancy class with Lisa.
We had moved from the class lessons to the practical lessons in the field where I would practise making constructs using Lumenmancy and getting used to controlling them.
On another note, I was still her only student in this class so I had her all to myself.
I was honestly expecting some Off-Worlder to show up in her class asking to be taught or something but that hasn\'t happened yet at least.
As Lisa had said, Lumenmancy wasn\'t really that popular of a magic in the first place unless you were aiming to be a Mercenary or Dungeoneer.
Ironically, the same goes for Iatromancy and yet there were more students in that class than here.
Then again, I\'m pretty sure the reason for that was more because of what everyone else thought Lisa was the strict and cold teacher instead of how she usually is when she was around me.
Unfortunately, since our lesson involved summoning constructs, we had to conduct our lessons in the field which meant there were other people around watching us.
Thus, Lisa had to adopt her strict persona while we\'re out here and I could tell she was quite vexed by that from how she kept fidgeting beside me as the lesson progressed.
I used [Light Forge] to create a suit of armour around me once again while facing against Lisa.
She was standing a few feet away with her arms crossed, waiting for my armour to form before she casually pointed a finger at me.
She took a moment to chant her spell before a flash of light shot out from her finger aimed directly at me.
My instincts were screaming at me to dodge it but I managed to fight that down to stand against the spell.
The beam of light hit me on the shoulder, knocking me back a few steps from the blow.
I looked down to see my light armour shattering after that blow, failing to maintain its form after protecting me from a blow like that.
"Still not good enough Aster. Once again. Front and centre," Lisa ordered, acting her part of being the ice queen.
There were a few students who were also using the field for their own practice sessions a short distance away from us, though it was clear they were more interested in watching us than paying attention to their own training.
I could tell so because of all the whispering they were doing over there.
"Miss Lisa really is a scary teacher huh?"
"She\'s even ruthless to the White Haired Princess huh…"
"I heard that she\'s more rough on her than anyone else though. Why do you think so?"
"Maybe she\'s jealous of her?"
"Why would she be jealous?"
"Because she\'s a fucking genius, duh."
"I heard there was a new student in her alchemy class right? I don\'t think she does that to him."
"Then I guess it\'s because she\'s hot?"
"She\'s looking over here! Quick, act busy!"
Those students quickly went back to their training while Lisa glared at them for a moment before turning back to me.
I saw her mouth the words \'I love you\' at me while I was busy chanting the spell again.
She\'s so cute.
I finished the chant and created the suit of armour once again, prompting Lisa to shoot another [Laser] at me.
The light beam once again struck me on the shoulder, forcing me to take a few steps back once more from the force of the impact.
Once again, I looked down at the armour I created and felt my heart soar when I saw the armour still there, right before it suddenly shattered again.
Damnit…
"Again, Aster," Lisa ordered.
"I don\'t understand what I\'m doing wrong Li… Ahem… Professor Lisa…" I grumbled.
I was sure that pouring more mana into the spell would increase its durability but that was obviously not the case since the armour still shattered in one hit no matter how much mana I put into the spell.
My next hypothesis was increasing the time it took for me to materialise the spell since [Laser] would be stronger if I were to take more time to charge it up. But that was obviously not the case since it still yielded the same result.
I guess that wasn\'t going to work anyways since [Laser] getting stronger was more because of the mana being used to cast it rather than the time anyway.
But what I didn\'t understand was why Lisa wasn\'t telling me what I was doing wrong and just kept asking me to try different methods this whole entire time.
Lisa crossed her arms at me, "Have you not figured out yet, Aster?"
"Not yet, professor Lisa…"
"Hmph. Seems like you still have a long way to go. Stay back after school for some extra lessons."
Ah… So that was her true goal… She\'s going to make me stay back so that we\'re going to go fuck in the classroom or something…
But this time, I somehow felt like she had something else planned for some reason…
"She really is working her to the bone huh…"
"And here I thought the Amrap Tamer couldn\'t be tamed… I definitely don\'t envy her being stuck with professor Lisa…"
"Hey… Isn\'t that the one who likes to sing? Who\'s that with her?"
I paused and looked at where that guy was pointing at.
A distance away from us, Delmare was clutching her notebook close to her chest and walking past the field with a girl following after her.
I strained my ears to hear what the girl was saying which wasn\'t really hard since the girl was practically shouting after Delmare as she chased after her.
"Please? Just a little bit? I heard that you sing really well! I just want a song! Any song will do, please! How about after school today?
We can go to an empty classroom and I\'ll be your audience! I\'ll make it worth your while!"
Delmare didn\'t even acknowledge her and simply quickened her pace.
The girl then overtook her to block her path, "Just once! I won\'t ask any more than that!"
I was preparing to rush to her aid when Delmare turned and spotted me.
Her face immediately lit up and she turned to walk towards me.
The girl that had been blocking her way frowned at Delmare\'s sudden change in destination until she realised that my Siren was headed towards me.
Her face instantly soured when she saw me and she resumed her chase after Delmare.
I started moving as well to meet her and Delmare quickly moved to hide behind me, her hands holding on to my waist while she peeked from my side to look at the girl.
While using my body to block Delmare from this girl\'s view, I used [Screened] to check her stats.

Huh… I was actually sure that she might be an Off-Worlder… Turns out that she\'s a local…
I turned to Delmare and whispered, "Is she the one you told me about? The one who wanted to hear you sing?"
She nodded quickly before going back to hide behind me when the girl got close.
She stood about a metre away from me and glared at me with her arms crossed.
I was expecting her to say something but she just stood there silently while watching me.
Just as I was thinking about asking her what she wanted, she finally spoke.
"So… You\'re the one named Aster, aren\'t you?"
I tilted my head slightly, "That\'s right… Can I help you?"
She did not answer my question and simply looked me up and down.
Her gaze then went to Delmare who was peeking out from my side, causing her to duck back behind me to hide herself from view.
That obviously irked her as she turned back to me and pointed a finger towards me, "Aster! You and I are rivals from this point on! You better watch your back! Just you wait!!"
She then ran off before I could say anything.
What the heck was that?
