Chapter 812: An Unexpected Guest in the Northern Hall
Chapter 812: An Unexpected Guest in the Northern Hall
"Still coming?" Moon Fairy figured they would be smart enough to back off. Yet, they persisted relentlessly, which stoked his anger.
WHOOSH! The nine-tailed silver fox leapt into the fray. Shrouded by wind, fire, and thunder, it clashed fiercely with the Goldblood Lion, Dark Sabre-Toothed Tiger, and Swiftcloud Star Leopard.
BOOM! ROAR! SPLATTER! This was a battle of flesh and blood, where every collision scattered gore and echoed with cries of pain.
Of course, neither the blood nor the cries concerned Moon Fairy.
The scattered blood, the torn flesh, and the fallen fur… all came from the bodies of the lion, tiger, and leopard.
Initially, their rage was like a great river, their roars incessant.
As the battle wore on, their roars turned to screams of agony, their righteous indignation sinking to the depths. They were reduced from fierce beasts to drowned rats, relentlessly pursued by the nine-tailed silver fox. They were forced to flee with their tails between their legs.
"Hahaha!" Qi Qiqi was completely at ease now, even finding the spectacle amusing, laughing for a long time. She could tell that Moon Fairy hadn\'t truly intended to grievously wound them. Though their injuries were painful, and perhaps they would be bedridden for a while, but it wouldn\'t significantly impact their cultivation.
"These three were too reckless, it\'s right to discipline them and teach them a lesson; otherwise, they\'ll continue bullying people and disregarding others!
"Still, I never knew Moon Bro was so strong! He\'s only in the Second Baptism Realm, but he\'s making three prodigies in the Third Baptism Realm flee in terror. No wonder he\'s the great hero who saved the Reincarnation Wick…"
The multi-colored qilin\'s eyes gleamed as it watched the elegant and graceful nine-tailed silver fox toy with the lion, tiger, and leopard, its youthful face filled with the sweet bloom of first love.
"Father, help me!"
Just as Qi Qiqi was lost in her daydreams, Mo Sha suddenly bellowed in despair, like a drowning man clutching at a lifeline.
Above the Great Dry Well, a sudden tremor erupted, and a terrifying presence descended violently!
HUM! Moon Fairy looked up, and above him appeared a pair of vast black eyes, locking onto his form!
A black storm burst forth from those eyes, crashing into Moon Fairy with a thunderous impact.
CRACK! SNAP! Moon Fairy\'s muscles tore, and from every pore, threads of fresh blood seeped out.
"Father, kill him! He violated Qi Qiqi!" Mo Sha snarled ferociously.
"Yes!"
Those enormous black eyes showed no emotion, their oppressive force intensified, a crushing pressure descending upon Moon Fairy.
Quick to react, Qi Qiqi dashed in front of Moon Fairy, shouting, "Uncle, don\'t hurt him! He\'s the savior of the Reincarnation Wick! It\'s a misunderstanding!"
With Qi Qiqi shielding Moon Fairy with her body, and the mention of saving the Reincarnation Wick, the crushing pressure quickly disappeared.
"What\'s going on?"
From the heavens descended a man in a black robe, his face dark and square, standing with his hands behind his back, exuding authority.
When he noticed the bloody wounds on the Dark Saber-Toothed Tiger, his eyebrows twitched and he frowned slightly.
"It was like this! I was playing with Brother Moon, and those three misunderstood and wanted to beat him up, but then..." Qi Qiqi hurriedly explained. She hesitated to finish her sentence because of how badly the three had been humiliated.
All three were promising talents and sons of Generals of Xuan and Huan. Yet, they had been bested by a mere nine-tailed silver fox?
The man in the black robe fell silent for a moment before looking deeply at Moon Fairy and saying, "I hadn\'t realized our great hero was also so gifted in battle."
Moon Fairy responded modestly, "It\'s nothing noteworthy."
Had it not been for his ability to save the Reincarnation Wick, this man in the black robe would have surely torn him to shreds for daring to beat his son like this.
"Father! That\'s not true! This guy is a scoundrel! He saw Qiqi was young and naive and deliberately deceived and tempted her! If we hadn\'t caught on, she might have been his victim!" Mo Sha, covered in blood, growled in a low voice.
He didn\'t care about the Reincarnation Wick; his concern was whether this silver-haired youth had dishonored the young goddess.
"Shut up! You\'re the ones with dirty minds! Moon Bro and I were playing innocently." Qi Qiqi, who had been cheerful, now burst into tears of injustice upon hearing these accusations.
"You three are a disgrace; stop embarrassing yourselves here and get out," the man in the black robe said coldly.
"Father!"
"Leave!" As the man in the black robe roared, Shi Chan, Mo Sha, and Zhao Yichen could only depart in pain, casting venomous looks at Moon Fairy as they went.
"They got off lightly," Moon Fairy muttered.
“Qiqi, I won\'t disturb your playtime any longer.” The man in the black robe gave Qi Qiqi a slight smile before turning to leave.
Qi Qiqi wanted to say more, but he moved quickly. She pouted, feeling a bit wronged, and turned to Moon Fairy. “I’m sorry. They\'re my friends, but today they were too much. How could they speak so thoughtlessly?”
Moon Fairy shook his head and smiled gently. “I should be the one apologizing; I\'ve hurt your friends, after all.”
“No need, no need. I\'m the one mad at them! They\'re real bullies!” Qi Qiqi huffed.
Moon Fairy chose not to dwell on it and changed the subject, “Qiqi, let’s continue to absorb the desolation! Let’s improve together.”
“Okay! I also want to advance to the Fourth Baptism Realm soon and become a Colonel, commanding a battalion of 1,000!” Qiqi giggled.
Moon Fairy chuckled, looking at this naive and charming girl, thinking to himself, “Innocence is truly wonderful.”

Outside the Great Dry Well, after sending the three youngsters away, the man in the black robe turned to an old man reading a book. “Flame God, have you been keeping an eye on Qiqi and Moon Fairy?”
“I have. They play quite well. What about it?” The Flame God looked up, adjusting his flame-scorched reading glasses.
“That little fox has the power to save the Reincarnation Wick, which is commendable. But foxes are cunning and unpredictable, and Qiqi is overly naive. I\'m afraid if they play together too much, it might negatively affect her,” the man in the black robe said.
“It’s fine; I’ve been keeping watch,” the Flame God responded calmly.
“Alright,” the man in the black robe nodded, then added, “Thank you. I must also remind the Desolation Marshal.”
His latter remark implied that if the Flame God didn’t intervene, the Desolation Marshal surely would, as Qi Qiqi was her precious daughter.
“Go ahead,” the Flame God said.
“Do you know where the Desolation Marshal might be?” asked the man in the black robe.
“I do not,” the Flame God replied.
“Seems she just left?” The man in the black robe shook his head, sighed, and then suddenly added, “Although he doesn’t get along with the Desolation Marshal, Qiqi is still the apple of his eye. Rumor has it that she’s already arranged a royal marriage for her to elevate his status among the beasts. While Moon Fairy can save the common folk, he’s no five-colored qilin. If that fox truly angers her, not even 10,000 lives would suffice.”
After listening, the Flame God looked up again, smiled faintly at the man in the black robe, and pointed outside, saying, “The door is that way.”
The man in the black robe pursed his lips, then bowed and backed away.

An hour passed before Moon Fairy emerged from the Great Dry Well. He had absorbed too much desolation and was burning with an unvented fury. He was not one to hold it in.
So, Moon Fairy found an excuse to bid Qi Qiqi a temporary farewell, longing to rest a while back at the Northern Hall.
Qi Qiqi, too tired, planned to return to the Southern Hall to find her mother.
"See you tomorrow, Moon Bro!" The young girl had transformed into her human form and stood at the entrance of the Marshal\'s Base, smiling and waving at Moon Fairy.
In the form of a barefooted, silver-haired youth, Moon Fairy waved back at Qi Qiqi and hurried toward the Northern Hall.
Soon after, he arrived at the eerily silent Northern Hall. As he entered, he called out, "Colonel, where are you?"
Before heading to the Great Dry Well, he had instructed Lin Daiyuan to stay put here. After calling out, he loosened his robe and proceeded deeper into the Northern Hall. To his chagrin, the Black Brute Bear didn\'t answer him.
"Where have you gone?" Moon Fairy called out for a while, but it was clear there was no one around.
"That girl has quite the nerve. She\'s been tasked with protecting me. Yet, she dares to wander off?"
Moon Fairy\'s irritation flared. Bears were indeed hard to tame! After all, they were naturally wild! However, it was this kind of challenge that made things interesting; otherwise, he might quickly grow bored.
"I\'ll speak with the Desolation Marshal later and report you for dereliction of duty!" Moon Fairy huffed, deciding to find a place to consolidate his cultivation on his own.
Just then, he thought he heard a deep chant echoing from the depths of the Northern Hall.
"Who? Isn\'t the Northern Hall supposed to be my personal quarters? Who\'s here?
Moon Fairy\'s gaze grew cold as he moved barefoot toward the source of the disturbance. As he drew closer, the smell of blood grew stronger, mingled with an oddly sweet fragrance. The subdued cries of pain also became clearer.
"Who is it, really?"
At the end of the corridor, a black door appeared, slightly ajar, with faint glimmers of crystalline white light seeping through.
"They\'ve noticed me."
The cessation of the gentle moaning indicated as much to Moon Fairy. Deciding to confront the situation directly, he strode forward and knocked.
"Come in." A soft voice beckoned from within.
Moon Fairy pushed the door open, and a burst of radiant light washed over him. As his eyes adjusted, he saw in the corner of the chamber a woman with multicolored long hair, sitting cross-legged on the ground, her hair cascading around her...
The strands shone brighter where they were stained with blood, which appeared in five distinct colors. It was strangely beautiful.
His gaze traveled upward to find her clothes torn into ribbons, exposing swathes of pale skin. Normally, such a sight would stir the blood, but Moon Fairy felt no such stirrings.
Instead, he was taken aback by the sight of hundreds of centipede-like crimson wounds across her exposed flesh, looking like 100 blood serpents entwined around her.
She was sitting in a pool of her own blood, her complexion deathly pale, barely clinging to life. Pain and endurance were etched deeply within her multicolored eyes.
As Moon Fairy entered, she spoke softly, "I didn\'t want Qiqi to see this. I just needed to use your Northern Hall for a bit. Lin Daiyuan left because I told her to."
Moon Fairy bit his lip and nodded, "Yes, Marshal."
"Mhm. Ugh…" The Desolation Marshal groaned.
"I should leave now," he said, preparing to turn and close the door.
"Wait." The Desolation Marshal looked up, her voice gentle, "Don\'t go. Could you help me apply some medicine?"
