Chapter 92 Special Continent
\'I think I am teleported to some place, but why is there still pitch-black darkness around me.\' Alex thought after feeling normal again.
After a few seconds of being blind, Alex regained his vision, and what he saw surprised him to his core.
\'This sense feels familiar.\' Alex thought as he observed his surrounding.
Alex was standing in a vast empty area with nothing but darkness, and a short distance away from him, an identical dark throne was present, and on that throne sat a giant of a looking toward him with an expressionless face.
\'He has the same aura of authority as Cronos had around him.\' Alex thought as he looked toward the giant man.
The man was around ten feet tall with a sharp and handsome appearance, and his eyes were like two black holes, making it impossible to keep eye contact with him.
"Mortal, My name is Erebus." The man said in a deep emotionless voice.
\'He gives the feeling of a living person, but possibly he is just a wisp of consciousness like Cronos, and because of this special place, I could see his wisp of conciseness.\' Alex thought as he bit on his tongue to make sure he was physically present in this place and not in his consciousness form.
"My name is Hidden One, and it is my pleasure to meet you," Alex replied respectfully, not acting excited.
\'I have so many questions that I want to ask, but let\'s wait for a good opportunity.\' Alex thought as he controlled himself from saying anything unnecessary.
"Mortal, You don\'t need to pass any trials to prove your worthiness to obtain my legacy because you have already met the only condition by reaching this place, but you do need to make a Law Oath with me if you want to receive my legacy," Erebus said.
\'I am happy that I don\'t need to pass any trials, but what kind of law oath does he want me to take.\' Alex thought.
\'If he wants me to accomplish something ridiculous, I would rather pass on his legacy than doom my future.\' Alex thought after thinking for a few seconds.
The law oath was also a form of promise, but no sane person would ever take it because if the law oath ever got broken, there would be only one punishment which was being shunned by the world laws for the rest of his life.
A person shunned by the world laws would never be able to utilize mana, which would make it impossible to reach a higher Rank of strength, and this one punishment was worse than daying for both NPCs and Players.
"Sir Erebus, I want to hear about the restrictions of the law oath and what kind of things I need to accomplish to complete my law oath," Alex asked.
"A wise and calm nature are good qualities for a king," Erebus said out loud with a smile breaking his cold expression.
"The task you need to complete is to bring peace to my kingdom, and you need to accomplish that before you reach the first Transcend Rank," Erebus said.
\'I don\'t think he is a human, so he shouldn\'t belong to any human kingdom, and more importantly, does his kingdom even exist in the current era? and which one between the Fourth and Seventh is the Transcend Rank?\' Alex thought, not having any clue what Erebus was talking about.
\'If I need to solve his kingdom problem before reaching the seventh Rank, then the deal is not bad, but I don\'t want to manage a kingdom as it is too much work, and getting that headache for a legacy is not worth the trouble.\'
\'I should ask him to briefly explain his demand before making any decision because maybe Erebus\'s kingdom doesn\'t even exist in the current era.\' Alex thought.
"Sir Erebus, I want to know about your kingdom, and could you please briefly explain about the Transcend Rank," Alex asked.
"The First Transcend Rank, or Tenth Rank as you mortal people call it, is the stage that one could achieve after having a basic understanding of his element at the worldly level."
Erebus stopped his explanation after seeing Alex deep in his thoughts, not paying any attention to his words.
\'What the hell is he talking about? and there is a Tenth Rank, and to achieve it, one just need to have a basic understanding of his element and what is even the worldly level.\' Alex questioned, not paying any attention to Erebus\'s following words.
\'I don\'t understand why I am so surprised by this information even though Cronos sent me back in time using magic just a few months ago.\' Alex thought.
"I was a little surprised that to achieve the mythical tenth Rank, one just needs to have a basic understanding of his element at the worldly level," Alex said.
"I know you have some questions that you would like to get answered, but I suggest you find their answer yourself because the unknown would only motivate, and if you can\'t accomplish the unknown, then at the very least, it won\'t disappoint you," Erebus said.
\'This is the same reason I don\'t find any logical answer to my time travel, as it just makes my brain experience a headache.\' Alex thought.
"So, You want to hear about the condition of my kingdom?" Erebus asked.
\'If the law oath restriction gives such freedom, it should only mean that bringing peace to his kingdom wouldn\'t be an easy task, but Let\'s hear about the condition of his kingdom as it might not even exist, but I highly doubt that the case.\'
"It would greatly help me come to a decision if you could briefly explain the situation of your kingdom and the things I need to accomplish to bring peace to your kingdom," Alex said.
"My kingdom is present on the "Malefis Domain," and its name is [Abrus] and its current condition is that it is in shambles and will get erased in a few short decades if it stays without a king," Erebus said.
\'I want to know about this Malefis Domain as it sounds like a hidden continent, but let\'s not waste his time and respectfully decline his demand because I am not taking a law oath which is impossible to complete.\' Alex thought.
If any other player could get a [SSS] Rank legacy by just taking a law oath to complete something before reaching the mythical tenth Rank, they would do it as everyone believed it was just a game.
Alex knew that the game was not just some virtual code run by high-tech technology but something linked to reality, and even though he had no clue what the truth was, he was intelligent enough not to make any choice that he would regret in the future.
"Sir Erebus, I can\'t take the law oath even though I may never reach the transcend Rank, but I still have good hopes for my future, so I can\'t take such a big risk with my future," Alex said calmly and waited for Erebus\'s reaction to his rejection.
"I understand you don\'t want to have anything to do with an unknown kingdom on the verge of destruction when your future path to strength is at stake, so let\'s change the law oath," Erebus said
"You need to take a law oath that you would become the king of Abrus kingdom, and in exchange, I will give you my legacy," Erebus said.
\'This requirement is the same as before, but the words just have a nicer tone.\' Alex thought.
"You just need to become the king of Abrus, and after the coronation ceremony, you can leave the Malefis Domain at any moment," Erebus said, making his statement clear.
\'If I accept this deal, the destruction of Abrus kingdom will not affect me, but giving me such an offer could only mean he is confident that after I become the king, I would do my best to save the Abrus kingdom.\'
\'The question is, do I want the troubles of managing a dying kingdom in my life?.\'
\'The kingdom being present on a hidden continent alone makes it worth the trouble, and if the kingdom itself has any value, then working to save it could give me life-changing opportunities.\' Alex thought after evaluating the pros and cons of his current situation.
"Sir Erebus, You said I could leave the Malefis Domain after the coronation ceremony, but I don\'t believe the people from the kingdom of Abrus would accept a weak human like me as their king," Alex said.
"The Malefis Domain is a special area in the world, and it chooses its ruler, and the ruler of the Malefis Domain is also the king of the Abrus kingdom," Erebus said.
