Chapter 51 51. Bottom Line.
Hearing this Rebecca thought about Xander\'s question for a little while before she eventually replied,
"He\'s quite prideful and he doesn\'t show the usual fear or caution commoners regularly have for nobles. Either he\'s ignorant or he\'s just that confident in his own talent."
As Xander heard Veronica\'s evaluation he just scoffed
"His confidence in his talent can\'t be that high, otherwise he would have just stated what talent he had outright."
Hearing this Veronica just shrugged
"Maybe it\'s not a combat related talent, who knows?"
Realising that there was no point in continuing this mindless speculation, Xander just snorted coldly and continued his way around the academy, his mood now soured.
He hadn\'t forgotten about Lucius, what happened today would be paid back.
The Caldwell family would never forget its grudges, no matter how small and insignificant they may seem….
….
After meeting up with Camilla and Alice Lucius counties to explore the rest of Sanctuary and after a full day he had managed to get a good idea of the place.
At least now he knew where the departments and keg locations were.
Lucius also didn\'t make any changes in the classes that he picked.
He briefly considered adding magic to the courses that he would practise but after speaking with a few of the teachers for the magic department he quickly got that thought out of his head.
Magic took a lot of preparation and preliminary education before you could even get started.
Although being a magician had a higher power ceiling than being a fighter or a swordsman, it took much longer to convert the training into actual combat power which was the main thing Lucius needed at the moment.
Without excellent talent, it would be a joke to think you could become a magician capable of fighting within a few months, not to mention the few days Lucius had.
Even if he bought a magic talent with his Love Points, the situation would only be slightly better.
Only the goody talents like [Master of Mana] could ignore the time constraints needed to train magic simply because with talent like that mana simply followed your every will, casting spells was as easy as breathing.
For the Other talents below this, whilst they would definitely improve your magic potential, they wouldn\'t outright break the rules.
Simply put, unless Lucius could somehow get enough Love points to buy the [Master of Mana] talent, buying any other magic talent was simply doing loss making business.
There was absolutely no point!
So with the idea of learning magic completely crossed off for the foreseeable future, Lucius really didn\'t have much to do in the academy any longer.
After going to the magic department and being thoroughly disappointed.
Lucius just spent some time with Alice and Camilla enjoying the other things outside of sanctuary like going to some nearby cafes and seeing the streets to the capital.
If it wasn\'t for the fear of wandering too far and missing curfew, they probably would have gone out to truly explore the capital city, unfortunately they could only go to the places located near Sanctuary for now.
But as a place with thousands of students, living in and going to each day, the business savvy people would never miss a chance to make a profit so there were still lots of shops and places located near Sanctuary.
The two girls enjoyed the new and novel sight, even the usually serious Camilla could be seen cracking a few smiles.
As the girls were enjoying themselves, Lucius was also having a good time.
He was farming Love points!
Although his Love Points didn\'t go up by a high amount with each action only around 10 points each time, money was still money do Lucius was still very pleased.
If it wasn\'t for the fear of utterly embarrassing the two girls in public, Lucius would have shamelessly used a few [Instance Inducers] to get an even greater harvest of Love points. It\'s just that Lucius had only used it once until now and didn\'t know where the true limits of such power lied.
If it would cause the two heroines to stumble into his arms a few times then that was fine but if it caused their skirts to randomly go flying up or other wardrobe mishaps then Lucius\'s conscience would be hit.
He was shameless, he would be the first to admit that, but he still had a bottom line!
As Lucius had this thought he suddenly heard a notification go of in his head
[Ding! Conditions met New mission detected!]
[Buy and use an Instance Inducer
Reward: 200 Love Points ]
The second Lucius saw this he was left speechless.
He just had some thoughts about being a decent person but that god suddenly there a mission to test his bottom line. Just how wretched could this god get?
Lucius looked at the mission with interest but as he saw the amount of Love points rewarded, he just sneered.
200 Love Points to break his bottom line? Just who did he take him for?
Double it and give it to the next person!
Just as Lucius thought this another notification came in.
[Buy and use an Instance Inducer
Reward: 400 Love Points ]
Lucius was surprised to see that the love Points had actually doubled but even with that he still remained unmoved
400 Love points was an increase but it was still not enough!
Sorry, but double it and give it to the next person!
As Lucius thought this, he pretended not to look at the panel and looked away.
But as the seconds turned to minutes he couldn\'t help but sigh.
Sure enough, no matter how lousy a god was he wouldn\'t be so naive as to fall for such basic tricks.
400 Love points couldn\'t move Lucius but if they kept doubling the situation was unknown
