Chapter 110: Florida Man Breaks Up with Wife Live During National Ball Game and Attempts to Assassinate Local Monarch in the Same Day

As Felix contemplated killing Saucon, a wave of nausea hit him. His stomach churned, and his vision blurred.

<Warning: Breaching a magic contract may result in backlashes. You may suffer one or more of the following symptoms: nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach cramps, inconvenience, diarrhea, internal bleeding, and blood coughing.>

Feeling the effects, Felix realized the contract enforcement was not in his favor. He glared at Saucon and muttered, "Why can he send assassins to kill me, but I can\'t kill him?"

<The emperor is also suffering backlash from breaching the contract. However, you\'re obliged to follow the empire\'s laws. Killing the emperor would clearly breach the contract.>

Felix frowned, displeased with the restrictions, but he wasn\'t foolish enough to adhere strictly to the rules. He knew a few loopholes.

"I\'m entitled to self-defense if things go south. Can\'t I exercise my right to protect myself since the emperor tried to kill me first?"

As if in response, the dizziness subsided, and his vision cleared. The backlash warning ended.

Seeing the change, Felix grinned and adjusted his aim, targeting the emperor\'s head. But then, recalling a certain presidential assassination attempt, he shifted the muzzle slightly. Without using a scope, he smirked and held his breath, finding a new target he could justify killing.

Saucon broke out in a sweat as he clutched his stomach. The backlash from breaching the contract still plagued him with discomfort. He licked his teeth, counting the time and waiting for Elizabeth to return.

Ignoring the three matches in the arena, Elizabeth eventually came back, wearing a wooden mask and concealing clothes. Her black long-sleeve robe and gloves made her look like an evil cultist.

Saucon glanced at her and noticed her nape and ears looked more withered than usual, but he didn\'t question it. Instead, he asked, "Where is Felix Ariel?"

Elizabeth lowered her head in defeat. "I\'m sorry, Your Majesty. He killed the guards and escaped."

The emperor wasn\'t fooled. He glared at her and exposed her failure, "You didn\'t kill him, did you? Look at you, hiding your face and skin. Did your favorite poison backfire on you?"

"I\'ve failed you. My deepest apologies," Elizabeth admitted, regretting her actions. She wished she could turn back time and finish off Felix while she had the chance.

Tanaka, though disgusted by Saucon\'s policies, could only sigh. He regretted signing a magic contract with Saucon\'s father, which bound him to the kingdom. He also missed his wives at home, whom he hadn\'t visited in a week. He also thought of Diana and their secret promises.

Because of his wandering thoughts, he recalled a strange rumor about a mage who had grown up with Lamias as an "Alpha." He wondered who that was.

Lost in thought, Tanaka suddenly sensed intense killing intent from the opposite side of the stands. Reflexively, he drew his sword and stepped in front of the emperor.

Just then...

*BANG*

A bullet whistled through the air, missing Tanaka and the emperor by ten feet.

*PU*

But it hit something else. Elizabeth, standing nearby, felt something hot punch through her neck, leaving a large gaping hole. Her spinal cord was crushed, her arteries severed, and blood splattered. She dropped to the floor, green blood dripping.

Tanaka looked at the fallen elf and recognized the gunshot. He wryly smiled, knowing the culprit. "Boy, you\'re bold."

A second later, Elizabeth, who was presumed dead, rose to her feet. Her green blood condensed into jelly-like slimes and returned to her body. The wound on her neck slowly healed.

Touching her neck, Elizabeth was confused about what had struck her. Then she turned her gaze toward the opposite side of the stands.

She saw Felix aiming his hunting rifle at her.

*BANG*

Another mana-piercing bullet shattered her forehead, blowing her brain apart like a watermelon. Half of her head scattered, and soft pink tissues splattered everywhere. One of her eyeballs fell in front of Tanaka, while the other was lost.

Elizabeth fell again. This time, she longer stood back up.

Saucon looked at the dead elf, widening his eyes in shock. He then shifted his gaze to the culprit and locked eyes with Felix. Understanding what had transpired, Saucon muttered, relaying a new decree.

"Hear my mandate. From now on, Felix Ariel is a traitor of this country. Tanaka, Martin, you two… Kill that traitor and bring his head to me. Don\'t come back until you get his head!"

.

.

Felix ejected the spent shell and glanced at the rifle, noticing a strange sound coming from the barrel after the second shot. Without hesitation, he tossed the rifle into the recycle bin and created a new one, readying himself to take aim again. However, when he looked back, the emperor and his men had already left the VIP box, leaving behind the elf\'s body.

"Ah, I spooked them," Felix muttered, lowering his gun. He leaned in to whisper to Jane, "Keep the ring with you. One day, I\'ll come back for you. For now, stay away from Sean Smith and keep an eye on the emperor. He\'s untrustworthy."

After giving Jane a final kiss on the cheek and shoved an item into her hand, Felix stood up and hurried out of the area. Jane, watching him leave, stared at the wedding ring and then at Felix\'s retreating figure. A tear rolled down her cheek as a deep sense of loss washed over her, feeling as if this might be the last time they would be together.

Jane stood up, ready to call Felix back, but it was too late. He had already disappeared into the crowd. A wave of regret washed over her, and she fought the urge to cry out, questioning why she had to sacrifice her happiness for the sake of an old debt.

As she stood there, she noticed something in her hand—something Felix had slipped to her before he left.

It was a house key.

"..."

Jane clenched the key tightly and bit her lower lip, holding back the tears.

After parting ways with Jane, leaving her with just a house key, Felix severed his last emotional tie to the place. If she ever wanted to return, she could whenever she wanted, provided she found her way back.

As Felix exited the stadium, he summoned his ATV and headed south toward the nearest city gate. While driving, he kept the vehicle\'s protective barrier small to avoid harming the townspeople, but he still crashed through several vendor stalls that cluttered the road.

Upon reaching the gate, he stopped abruptly as a commotion caught his attention.

Ahead, a group of aura knights stood in formation, blocking the path. Their backs were turned to Felix, facing off against another opponent. On the other side, a man with glasses and a familiar face stood confidently, taunting the knights with a smirk as he nudged his glasses with his middle finger.

Oddly, the man wasn\'t dressed in his usual noble attire. Instead, he wore a black cloak that clearly belonged to someone else—someone who had been sent to hunt him.

Felix pulled out a pair of binoculars and peered through the gaps in the crowd to get a better look. When he finally identified the man, he couldn\'t help but mutter, "Well, shit."

It was Sean Smith, and the black cloak he was wearing belonged to Xavior Faunir, the transmigrator Felix had encountered in the emperor\'s office. The badge of the Alchemist Saint still attached to the cloak
