Chapter 125 - 125 Street Thug (An extra update for "Tired Morning" featuring 10,000 rewards)
Song Jian had completed one-tenth of his primary mission, but it was quite tough to choose one of these ten battle professions as his primary profession.
Song Jian already had two inheritances in the Sword Immortal profession. If he could obtain the inheritance for this profession, it would be excellent. However, obtaining the Swordsman Immortal profession was really difficult. Just by the name, it was ten times, even a hundred times, more potent than a “Musketeer”.
After the dwarf Zack left the Sunflower Bar, most of the players in the bar also scattered. They had lost an opportunity to recruit a follower and wasted six hours. Their faces were not looking good, but they dared not make remarks, fearing that if they offended Song Jian, they may risk their lives.
Song Jian walked up to the bar, ordered a cheap beer, and started to rest. The combat footage of the Musketeer profession was still replaying in his mind.
The Musketeer’s pros and cons were very clear. Even if Song Jian didn’t plan to take up this profession, he had to understand more about its characteristics, as he might possibly encounter players of the Musketeer profession in the future.
As Song Jian was sipping his beer, a thug from the bar slowly walked up to Song Jian, ambiguously asked in a low voice, “Hey kid, are you looking for guidance from a battle profession instructor?”
Song Jian glanced at him. This bar thug was burly with a waist circumference of at least four feet. He looked like a barrel. The club tucked in his waist was almost as thick as his finger when it was drawn up.
“Yes, do you know where an instructor of a battle profession can be found? If so, 1’11 buy you a drink.” Song Jian raised his beer toward the thug.
“I do happen to know where an instructor of a battle profession is. If you buy me a drink, I’ll tell you!” The thug from the bar said smugly.
“Oh, really? That’s fine then. Fiana, get a beer for this gentleman, please.” Song Jian took out two Doomsday Coins and placed them on the bar.
Fiana gave Song Jian a strange look, poured a large beer, and pushed it in front of the thug. She disdainfully glanced at him, “Zuo Ya, you are becoming worse.” “No, no, I’m just mooching for a drink. Hehe-” The thug squinted his small eyes and answered with a face full of smiles.
Glug, glug-
After finishing his large beer, Zuo Ya, the thug, gave a satisfied burp and carefully returned the empty glass.
“Okay, now that you’ve finished your beer, you should tell me the information.” Song Jian stared at Zuo Ya and asked.
“No problem, I’ll tell you about the battle profession ‘Street Thug’ right now.” Zuo Ya said with a serious face.
“Wait a minute, hey, what did you say? Which profession? I didn’t hear you clearly just now.” Song Jian quickly interrupted Zuo Ya from continuing, cupping his ear, he could hardly believe what he had just heard.
“A battle profession, a Street Thug. What, you look down on this profession?” Anger flickered across Zuo Ya’s face.
“I’m saying… is a Street Thug really considered a combat profession?” Song Jian asked in disbelief.
“Of course. A Street Thug is an ancient profession. One must be extremely brave to take up this profession – it’s not just anyone’s cup of tea.” Zuo Ya earnestly said.
“Nonsense! It indeed takes immense courage to choose Street Thug as one’s primary battle profession. People with slightly thin skin can’t bear it, they would die of laughter.” Song Jian curled his lips and muttered.
“Alright, tell me where can 1 find an instructor for this battle profession?” Song Jian relaxed his shoulders, took a sip of his wine and asked.
“Right in front of you. I am the instructor for the battle profession ‘Street Thug’.” Zuo Ya answered with a smug expression.
System: You have discovered the instructor of ‘Street Thug’ battle profession. Would you like to learn more about the ‘Street Thug’ profession?
Song Jian was speechless, stunned for a moment before finally choosing “Yes”.
After all, knowing all about the ten combat professions, and considering each one as they come, doesn’t necessarily mean he’d commit to any of them.
“Alright, Zuo Ya, tell me about the street fighter profession”, Song Jian nodded as he spoke.
“Alright,” Zuo Ya’s small eyes sparkled, speaking seriously to Song Jian, “If you want to understand this profession, you must pass my test and earn my approval, then I’ll tell you about this combat profession. Are you willing to accept my test?”
“Hold on, I hope you’re not asking me to buy you an expensive drink. If that’s the case, I’ll pass. Actually, I’m not that interested in the street fighter profession,” Song Jian shrugged, showing an indifferent expression.
“Actually, this profession is pretty strong, just look at me now,” Zuo Ya said, puffing out his chest and standing tall, displaying his formidable stature.
“Hehe,” Song Jian chuckled sarcastically.
“Eh…” Zuo Ya’s face darkened. Anyone would feel upset if their chosen profession was scorned.
“In that case, your test will be to fight me. As long as you can defeat me, 1 will tell you all about the ‘street fighter’ profession. How’s that?” Zhou Ya’s face took on a fierce expression, his muscles rippled menacingly, making him appear very ferocious.
Thud-
Song Jian put his empty glass on the bar and stood up, “Alright, let’s do it. 1 could use the workout after that drink.”
Fiana snapped her fingers and shouted, “Guys, give these two ‘warriors’ some space. Let’s enjoy this exciting show.”
“Haha, this should be interesting!”
“Zuo Ya, don’t embarrass yourself. If you lose, you’ll have to run around the bar, naked, for three rounds.”
The other bar staff and bouncers joined in the excitement, clearing the center of the bar. The remaining gamers looked curiously at Song Jian.
“Is this… another hidden mission, or maybe a side mission?” a player asked, perplexed.
“It’s unbelievable! Just after the dwarf left, he gets another mission from a random NPC! It feels like he’s playing a different game.”
“Yeah, I still haven’t even completed the main task of building a safe house, and he keeps getting hidden missions. It’s enough to make you envious!”
Almost all the remaining players were envious of Song Jian.
“Hehe, just wait and see how powerful the street fighter profession is!” Zuo Ya stood in the middle of the cleared area in the bar, waving his fists at Song Jian with a ferocious smile.
“In the street fighter profession, anything can be a weapon!” Zuo Ya revealed a glint in his eyes as he pulled out a black expandable baton from his waistband. He flicked it out with a “snap”, and it instantly extended a foot in length.
“Compared to other items, this baton brings out my full power,” Zuo Ya grinned wickedly, tensing his abdomen in preparation to charge at Song Jian.
He took a couple of steps before suddenly stopping, staring at Song Jian in terror. “What… what are you doing?” he yelled.
