Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Plans for the Future
"Wha da ya young\'uns know \'bout quality," the director slurred.
At this point, all of the other orphans had already gone to bed, and Sally had returned to her and John\'s home. Only Kain and Bridge remained with the two tipsy adult men.
"So what are your future plans?" Asked Farmer John, speech a lot clearer than the director\'s.
Bridge shrugged his shoulders. He hadn\'t thought that he would have a chance at a top college, even awakening an affinity feels like a dream.
"What about you Kain? You will both probably try for the top 5 colleges, after all there is a considerable gap between the funding, resources and instruction they have when compared to those mid and low-tiered colleges."
"I\'m not 100% sure. If necessary, I may try for more than one. But I think my first choice will be the Dark Moon College."
"Dark Moon?" John asked surprised. That college was all the way in the east. Brightstar City where they lived was in the Southern region. Therefore, most local geniuses\' first choice college was Starfire College, currently ranked fourth among the top 5 colleges.
"That\'s quite far. Any particular reason why?" John asked curiously. Bridge also turned to look at Kain in confusion.
\'Because so far the only lead I have about my affinity leads me to there…\'
"The needs for my affinity are quite unique. I think Dark Moon College would be best able to meet them." John and Bridge nodded slowly. Seeing that Kain still did not want to disclose what his affinity was they did not pressure him for answers.
Snore
Turning to look at the fast asleep director they realized that it was probably time to head to bed.
Covering director Silas with a quilt they said their goodbyes to John before making their way upstairs.
\'I need to get more information on the admissions test for Dark Moon College…\' The last thoughts of Kain and Bridge were surprisingly identical as they fell into slumber.
