Chapter 88: Unrivaled Sweep
Chapter 88: Unrivaled Sweep
He had thought he had caught an ordinary Blood Cultist; he hadn’t expected one that could transform into something like this.
Just then, one of the employees attempted to flee, consumed by fear.
"Trying to run? None of you are leaving here alive."
The red monster\'s expression turned ferocious, and with a thunderous movement, it appeared behind the fleeing employee in an instant, its terrifying speed bursting through the air with a deafening roar.
Rip!
Its sharp claws tore through the air, emitting a tearing sound as they reached for the employee\'s chest, ready to rip it open in the next moment.
Bang!
A black long saber slashed upwards from below, intersecting with the blood-red true power in an instant and creating a burst of black and red sparks.
The powerful force sent the red monster staggering back several steps.
"Such formidable defense!" Chen Chu stood in front of the employee, looking at the red monster with astonishment at the fact that his attack had only made a scratch on its arm.
Unlike the ordinary cultists’ true power, which usually crumbled upon contact, the true power on this monster\'s body was incredibly condensed and half an inch thick, and its scales had astonishing defense.
Although Chen Chu hadn’t unleashed the saber qi in his previous strike, with his current strength and supersonic slash, the tearing force of the blade edge alone could cut through a tank. But here, he had only managed to tear through its protective true power and damage its scales.
The red monster stared coldly at Chen Chu, its voice hoarse and solemn. "You\'re not a Second Heavenly Realm cultivator."
He had initially thought the other party was a newcomer and hadn\'t taken him seriously, intending to kill the receptionist and employees first to prevent them from revealing more information on him. But he hadn\'t expected this newcomer to be so powerful, able to tear through his protective true power and force him back with a single slash.
Chen Chu, holding his sword, calmly replied, "When did I ever say I was in the Second Heavenly Realm?" As he spoke, a faint black true power emerged around him.
Compared to the centimeter-thick protective true power on the red monster, however, Chen Chu\'s true power was only a thin layer, even with it having doubled after his breakthrough in swordsmanship. Considering he had only been in the Third Heavenly Realm for three days, that was to be expected.
"How is this possible? Didn\'t they say you newbies have only been practicing for two months?!" The red monster\'s eyes revealed shock and disbelief.
Chen Chu replied nonchalantly, "Indeed, I\'ve only been practicing for a little over two months, but is the Third Heavenly Realm really that difficult?"
He wasn\'t saying this to show off, but to provoke the monster. Chen Chu clearly understood that his rapid breakthrough was due to the strengthening of his attribute points and thus very unusual.
"Damn it, damn it, all you geniuses should die!" Chen Chu\'s calm tone infuriated the red monster, filling it with anger and envy.
It had taken him a year, cost hundreds of lives and even turning into this monstrous abomination just to break through to the Third Heavenly Realm. But these talents...
"Argh! I\'ll kill you, I’ll kill you!"
The monster\'s vitality surged, and it charged towards Chen Chu like a demon emerging from a pool of blood, exuding a terrifying bloodthirsty aura.
Boom!
Chen Chu\'s body suddenly expanded like an awakened giant elephant, and he surged forward, fiercely facing the attack head on.
In his hands, the long saber struck like lightning, emitting qi and sweeping through the air.
Boom!
The sharp blade struck the monster\'s arms, creating a powerful shockwave. The clash between the saber qi and the blood-red true power created a ring of black and red light.
The black saber qi was incredibly sharp, almost tearing through the thick layer of crimson true power before dispersing.
Clang! The scales on the monster\'s body were like alloy, sparking and shattering under the blade\'s impact to reveal the tough blood-red muscles underneath.
Once the blade had dug into the monster\'s arms, Chen Chu swept his sword horizontally, unleashing a violent and domineering force that smashed the monster into the wall, which collapsed with a thunderous crash, bricks flying and dust filling the air.
In the corridor, as soon as the monster hit the ground, it quickly got back up. Its arms bore long wounds several centimeters deep and were bleeding profusely. But in the next moment, the wounds began to heal at a visible rate.
What terrifying regenerative capability. As Chen Chu chased after the wounded red monster, his eyes squinted at the sight of the regeneration.
Roar!
The injured red monster became even more ferocious. Its blood aura started surging, and its body grew larger. Its terrifying presence almost filled the entire corridor. With a howling gale, it lunged towards Chen Chu once again.
Chen Chu\'s saber qi surged as his gaze turned ice-cold, refusing to back down in the face of the charging red monster. He took a step forward, his heavy alloy combat boots shattering the tiles beneath his feet.
Bang! Splat!
The monster\'s left claw fiercely grabbed onto the long saber, its blood-red true power circulating as it allowed the blade to tear through its palm. A grim smile was on its face as it looked at Chen Chu.
"Hahaha... I\'ve got you now."
Amid its laughter, the muscles in the monster\'s right arm bulged even more, and its sharp claws came crashing down, ready to rip through Chen Chu.
From what it understood about cultivation, it believed that the Federal genius\'s swordsmanship was his greatest strength. It thought that as long as it could restrain Chen Chu\'s sword, it would be like severing one of his arms, rendering him helpless.
But at that moment, Chen Chu released his grip on the sword handle, and his armored hand clenched into a fist.
Boom!
The fists covered in black and blood-red true power collided, compressing the air into tangible shockwaves. Under the violent impact, both of them were pushed back involuntarily, as the pain in the monster\'s left hand caused it to loosen its grip on the sword.
A draw. This outcome was unbelievable to the monster, turning its face ghastly.
The person who had given him the Blood Seed had told him that in his monster form, his power would be unrivaled and his defense formidable, making it impossible for humans of the same level to contend with him.
But now...
Boom!
In its distracted moment, Chen Chu\'s aura erupted violently as he charged forward. The ground trembled, and he appeared in front of the monster like a shadow.
Boom!
The black saber light slashed horizontally, bursting through the air with unmatched might.
"You can’t be tougher than me!"
Madness filled the monster\'s eyes as it ignored the long saber slashing towards its chest. It clasped its hands together, bringing them down like a heavy demolition hammer towards Chen Chu\'s head.
Splat! Boom!
The unrivaled saber qi tore through the blood aura, slashing a half-meter-long and ten-centimeter-deep wound across its chest, causing blood to gush out and guts wriggle.
At the same time, Chen Chu slightly tilted his head, and the monster’s muscular arms landed on his left shoulder like hammers, exploding with force.
Boom!
Under the burst of power, Chen Chu sank only slightly, resembling an unmovable mountain. Although the ground beneath his feet exploded and cracked, he stood firm.
At that moment, Chen Chu appeared more like a monster than the monster itself, as his battle armor’s terrifying defense and his robust physique allowed him to directly ignore its full-force blow. He looked at the ferocious red monster with cold eyes and calmly said, "Is this your all? Seems a bit weak."
At that moment, the red monster went completely insane. "Argh!!"
In its frenzy, it swept its claws horizontally, attempting to grab Chen Chu\'s head. However, he swiftly dodged by crouching, and then charged into the monster.
Boom!
Another wall collapsed, and amid the flying debris and dust, the two figures crashed into the adjacent advertising company, frightening the ordinary people inside who had already been on edge.
Boom! Boom! Boom!!
The two colossal beasts wreaked havoc as they rampaged through, destroying office desks and walls alike along their path. The entire floor shook violently from the terrifying impacts.
Suddenly, the outer wall of the building exploded, creating a large hole.
Countless fragments of concrete scattered around as Chen Chu, with both hands gripping his saber, stabbed it into the red monster\'s chest, standing on top of it as they plummeted from the fifth floor together.
They both crashed heavily onto a car parked on the side of the road, causing shockwaves to erupt as it was flattened beneath their combined force. The sudden turn of events startled the pedestrians around, causing them to scream and back away.
On the wreckage of the sedan, Chen Chu looked down. After confirming that the monster had breathed its last breath, he slowly pulled out the blood-stained long saber.
Clad in his blood-covered black and red battle armor, and standing on the monster\'s body with his saber in hand, he exuded an overwhelming aura terrifying many of the people who were watching from afar.
However, there were also some bold pedestrians among them, their faces excited as they took out their phones to capture the scene.
Chen Chu paid no attention to these onlookers. He simply lowered his head and checked himself over, then dialed a number on his phone.
Within ten minutes, two military trucks arrived, and several soldiers jumped down. They saluted Chen Chu first before carrying away the monster\'s body.
Once Chen Chu boarded one of the trucks, they left. He knew he didn’t need to worry about the damaged building, the smashed car, or the injured people; there were others responsible for that sort of clean-up.
***
It seems like my monstrous talent is about to be exposed. Sitting in the truck, Chen Chu looked at the broken and battered corpse with some frustration. He had just wanted to train and see if he could potentially encounter a Blood Cultist. He hadn’t expected to catch such a big fish—a monster in the middle-stage of the Third Heavenly Realm with late-stage combat power.
Getting 10 contribution points all at once was quite good, but it would also expose his breakthrough to the Third Heavenly Realm. While other students with only average strength could be easily deceived, the head teacher, Ms. Liu, was not stupid; her eyes were sharp.
Ultimately, however, Chen Chu was only slightly frustrated about this. He wasn\'t worried, because the purpose of the school was to cultivate geniuses. The school wasn’t worried about monstrous talents, but the waste of resources on mediocrity.
In a situation where all resources in the school needed to be earned through one\'s own efforts, there was no need to worry about jealousy, scheming, or censorship. Otherwise, An Fuqing and Li Hao would have had to hide away.
The biggest downside was that he would attract more attention and couldn\'t continue to keep a low profile. He would need to be more careful in certain areas.
But, he had long been mentally preparing for this situation. He couldn’t hide his progress forever; the increase in strength might be a bit slow in the early stages, but once he accumulated enough strength, it would grow explosively.
The Third Heavenly Realm was just the beginning...
