Chapter 409 - Hitting A Hard Snag
Chapter 409: Hitting A Hard Snag
“It’s about time. Let’s start.” Chen Zhao looked at the students present. “I’m Chen Zhao. Some of you may know me, and I won’t introduce myself. During the talk, try not to interrupt me if possible. You can ask me questions after I finish.”
Chen Zhao began the class. “I’m a professor in TCM, and my favorite treatment is acupuncture...”
Just then, a tall student stood up.
Tiger and the old members of the boxing club could feel their hearts skip a beat.
Shit... it’s over.
“What bullshit is that? I’ve never heard about TCM being used in neurosurgery.”
With astonishing speed, Tiger charged forward and knocked the student onto the floor.
“Shut up. Listen to Mr. Chen’s talk in silence or scram.”
Almost... Tiger shivered but he was proud of his cleverness.
“Alright, Tiger, don’t punch people in class. Those who are not interested can leave now. I don’t want the same thing to happen again.”
The student was still in a trance as he was pulled back onto his seat.
“Senior, is that part of the plan? Why did you...” the student asked softly.
“Are you mad? Do you know who he is?”
“Who is he?”
“He’s the one who caused Zanla Douglas to be handicapped. If you don’t want him to beat you up too, you better be polite.”
The student had just joined the boxing club on that day and clearly did not know Chen Zhao.
When he heard Tiger’s words, his face paled in fear.
“Senior... Will, will Mr. Chen...”
“Be very polite to him later.”
Tiger was also very upset. He had no idea that Jared was trying to target Chen Zhao.
Had he known it earlier, there was no way he would accept the job.
Fortunately, nothing terrible happened. The lesson resumed.
Jared looked at Tiger multiple times, questioning Tiger with his eyes.
However, Tiger only replied with a malicious glare, as if he was going to devour Jared alive.
Jared just could not figure out what Tiger meant.
Didn’t we have a deal?
Why would he change his mind halfway?
Is it the price? That’s not a problem at all. He should have told me earlier.
Forget it...
Jared thought in his mind. Anyway, Tiger was insignificant to his plan.
His plan would work with or without Tiger. Jared estimated when Anse Ronan and Hill Nandes would arrive.
Suddenly, he saw someone outside the windows who looked like Anse Ronan.
Jared was delighted. It’s time!
Jared stood up. “Mr. Chen, what have you been talking about? Are you sure you’re not a fraud?”
Chen Zhao turned his head to look at Jared, who was clearly not a student.
A lecturer? Chen Zhao was confused. Why would he attack Chen Zhao so directly? Had there been any conflicts between them?
Nevertheless, there was no reason for Chen Zhao to retreat from such a blunt assault.
“In the American medical community, it’s generally thought that TCM is most suited for recuperation, not as a main treatment, especially for neurological diseases, but you’ve been talking about how to use TCM to treat neurological diseases. So I have to question your academic and medical knowledge.”
“Just because you don’t understand it or agree with it doesn’t mean you’re right. I’m standing here, but you’re sitting down there, which proves that I have the right to teach the students with my theories. Also, before the talk started, I asked you to not interrupt me. I hate it when someone breaks my rhythm.”
“Can nobody interrupt you?” Jared dug a trap for Chen Zhao.
“Yes!”
“Even neurosurgery authorities?”
“I’m standing here. I am the authority.”
“Is it?” Just then, someone pushed the door open. “I would like to see which authority you are.”
Anse Ronan stood at the door, but when he saw Chen Zhao, his face turned purple.
“Err...” Anse Ronan opened his mouth. “I...”
“Mr. Anse, you’re finally here.” Jared clearly did not notice Anse Ronan’s weird expression. He happily approached Anse and announced loudly, “Let me introduce you to Anse Ronan, the dean of Chantilly Hospital’s neurosurgery department. He has published six academic papers, one of which is in our college’s official textbook. The other five have appeared in Medical Weekly and been awarded with the California Outstanding Medical Contribution Award. I believe he can be called an authority. Mr. Chen, he should be able to question you, right?”
The students burst into excitement. Most of them were medical students and some had subscribed to Medical Weekly.
It was already difficult enough for a paper to enter Medical Weekly.
More unbelievably, Anse Ronan’s paper had been selected to be part of the official syllabus. Nobody could achieve this apart from top experts.
Tiger and the others began to panic. They did not expect Jared to invite a real authority just for Chen Zhao.
The other students also noticed the unusual atmosphere.
Jared and Anse Ronan were obviously here to look for trouble. It all depended on how the speaker would react.
He might just be defeated by the pair and lose all his reputation.
Anse Ronan stood still, his face filled with hesitation.
“Huh, Ronan, how come you’re here?” Just then, another person walked in.
“Nandes, you’re here too?” Anse Ronan looked at Hill Nandes in surprise.
When Jared saw Hill Nandes, his face shone brightly. “Mr. Hill Nandes, here you are. Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to Hill Nandes, aka Surgical Knife, who specializes in high-difficulty neurosurgery. He has the top-tier specialist certificate recognized by the International Medical Institution.”
The students were wowed again. Nobody expected Jared to be so brutal and invite two neurosurgery authorities at once.
Perhaps many students had never heard of the name Hill Nandes, but everyone was familiar with the nickname of Surgical Knife, because his surgical videos were used to teach them.
Many of his classic surgeries were models in the medical community and had been studied by students over and over again.
