Chapter 156: The Kingdom’s Party
Chapter 156: The Kingdom's Party
The tremors they felt were due to swords of Heavenly Establishment cultivators crossing. In reality, it was mainly due to Gobuta and Eric who were going crazy while fighting. Gobuta seemed to enjoy pressuring Eric. A smile was plastered on his face while he was swinging his sword like a maniac. After a while, the duels ended and the results came out. It was an overwhelming victory for Ed's companions. Even Leonard who had the highest cultivation couldn't win.
"You guysYou know that a war just ended, and the people are on edge. Creating such a noise during a duel is not a good idea." Ed told them while drawing his sword. "So who will be my sparring partner?!" He was excited about sparring with a human in order to test his abilities. So much in fact, that he ignored his own words.
"We couldn't beat the monsters, and you want us to beat the master? Pffft, go fight some Dragon or something, then you might be satisfied." Eric made fun of Ed while withdrawing. The others nodded their heads in agreement, ready to flee the scene if he were to persist.
Luckily, Raikou appeared next to Ed's shadow. He brought five people who were bound by the shadows.
"Hmm? Ah, you can kill them." Ed knew Raikou's goal. He found them snooping around the area and brought to Ed who can identify if they're enemies or allies. Ed checked him Map, and since they're red they could be killed. The shadows binding them dragged them inside, and terror could be seen in their eyes.
"Run for your lives or the monster will drag you to hell!" Eric joked around while escaping.
"Raikou is my companion; don't call him a monster, even though he is," Ed told him off while looking at him.
"I wasn't talking about Raikou!" Eric finally spoke after he was far away. He knew Ed didn't like being called a monster, so he chose to say it only after he was far enough.
"Monster" Ed spoke to himself, and a second later he appeared in front of Eric. "Who did you call a monster? It seems like you've forgotten who's the older sibling huh?!" Eric was surprised since he was looking at Ed, and when he disappeared, he heard the sound from in front of him. Both of them joked around for a while before stopping. Ed headed back with Elizabeth to the office in order to continue their discussion.
"I took some spatial rings from the Heavenly Establishment people," Ed spoke while four colored rings appeared in his hand. "I'll check if there's some map or something indicating their hideout. Anything related to Blood sect would be helpful honestly." Ed told Elizabeth and chose a chair to sit on. He started going through the rings one by one. After two hours, he managed to check them all. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could help them in the fights against Blood sect. However, there was a mountain of gold that they got from the rings, as well as other precious items.
"I want to give the things in this ring to the families of the deceased." Ed was looking at the ring of the noble that killed those in the castle. There were enough valuable items in the other three that they could give up on this one. Elizabeth agreed and told him she would see to it. Those that had no families, their share would go to the orphanage.
Ed left to look at the city after finishing. He bought some items and visited the orphanage that was built. He was surprised to see that it was named 'Edward Avalon's Super Orphanage'. He stood there for almost five minutes with his mouth open. 'This must be Leonard!' Ed guessed the culprit behind this name and vowed to take revenge. His hand clutched itself into a fist.
Ed then visited Eri and the other children's graves. It was the first time in a long while, so he stayed there for almost fifteen minutes, telling them of his adventures. He left them some flowers he bought and headed towards his home. That night, Ed headed into the kitchen and started cooking along with Dorothy. She was surprised to see the exotic ingredients he brought to her. He wasn't cooking for his family alone; he invited Griffin, Oliver, Leonard, and Edmund. He also treated the remaining maid, butlers, and guards. He found out that Sebas was gone because he accompanied Arthur.
Ed asked them who named the orphanage, and it turned out to be Leonard as he expected. He looked at Dorothy, and both of them nodded in agreement. He also asked Edmund about how he found out about his identity. Turns out that Edmund has a special ability where disguises are futile in front of him. Which is why he is called the 'all-seeing eye'. After memorizing Ed's face, he 'visited' one of the employees at Central government, and got Ed's name from there. As he had a small fortune from taking the bandits' loot, it was easy for him to travel to Avalon. He wanted to return the fortune to Ed and his family, but they all declined.
After a while, the dishes started coming out, and everyone started eating. Food was abundant, and all of them were eating outside, enjoying the gentle breeze and the starry sky. Everyone choked on their food while laughing since Leonard ate something extremely spicy. Ed looked at Dorothy and gave her a thumbs up. Some sect Elders showed up, asking them how they could not invite them. Ed felt embarrassed since he actually forgot about them. Of course, they didn't get mad. They brought some dishes with them and their families and shared with everyone.
Soon enough, some citizens were attracted by the laughter coming from the castle. After finding out about the banquet, they wanted to offer some food to them. Ed and Elizabeth agreed to let them in, only after Ed checked if any enemy was amid them. The small-sized party turned into one that encompassed the whole kingdom. Everyone laughed while forgetting their sorrows, and the danger of Blood sect. some of them drunk some booze to make things even merrier, but Ed turned it down as he didn't like it. In the end, everybody went home feeling satisfied, as well as happy. Ed remained to help the maids and butlers clean up since some of the mess was caused by his companions. But, they didn't let him. So, he went to his room and slept.
A week passed by, and just as everyone was getting worried, Arthur returned.
