地震时怎样保护自己

Chapter 422: 423: Critical illness (2)

In the afternoon, Qin Zhiyou of Hanhai came again to “inspect”.

This time, however, he didn’t come to disturb their work nor did he enter Lu Weixi’s office. He only went up to the Siyi Building to discuss joint business development with Chairman Liao, then immediately left in his car.

According to Xiaochen, who always observed the situation through a telescope from the floor-to-ceiling window, Qin Zhiyou’s face was also bruised.

Then, she drew a conclusion: it was a fight triggered by adult males competing for a mate!

Lu Weixi never explained, and they didn’t feel comfortable asking. Qin Zhigu naturally was even worse at speaking up. The company’s atmosphere was tense. Though everyone was extremely curious, they could only keep their heads down and work. Moreover, Lu Weixi became noticeably stricter, rarely smiling during work, and appearing even more fierce at this time.

Everyone initially assumed Liu Yiyi had made a fool of herself, keeping her frustration bottled up, and were even more cautious in their actions.

This mood lasted until several days later, when a short video featuring Liu Yiyi was suddenly made public.

Lu Weixi was still in a meeting when Xiaochen suddenly exclaimed, “My God!” The entire conference room turned to look at her. Xiaochen no longer cared about decorum, knowing that only Lulu’s staff were present, and immediately blurted out, “Boss Lu, look! Someone posted a short video of Liu Yiyi!”

“Ah, really? Where, where?” Everyone in the conference room quickly pulled out their phones. Lu Weixi was the calmest among them, but though she appeared composed, her body revealed her curiosity – she leaned over to look at Xiaochen’s phone screen.

The moment she saw that the male in the video was a bald guy with a beer belly, she breathed a sigh of relief – for a moment, she had suspected it was Qin Zhiyou.

The other spectators were just enjoying the novelty and drama, but the people from Lulu turned to Lu Weixi and said, “Boss Lu, this…”

“What are you looking at? Isn’t there work to do?”

Lu Weixi scolded them and went back to work. But as she lowered her head, she thought of Qin Zhiyou’s promise that night: “I will definitely give you an explanation, you won’t see this person again.”

So, did Qin Zhiyou have something to do with this incident?

When it was finally time to leave work in the evening, a familiar Benz car was parked in its usual spot. When Lu Weixi opened the car door, she found only a driver inside.

The driver was also a familiar face; he had picked her up in a BMW during a banquet before.

Lu Weixi was a bit puzzled, and the driver said, “President Qin had some business today and won’t be able to come back tonight. He asked me to pick up the young madam.”

Lu Weixi merely responded with an “Oh,” and the driver drove her back to the mansion.

That night, alone in the bedroom after finishing her work, Lu Weixi closed her laptop and stretched lazily. She took a sip of her coffee and when she looked up, it was already eleven o’clock at night.

In the past, when Qin Zhiyou didn’t come back, she would speculate if he had gone to some girl’s place, but she wouldn’t feel too upset.

But this time, Qin Zhiyou had given her a promise, that he wouldn’t go after other women. Even though she didn’t believe it, what if he was telling the truth?

She took out her phone and casually scrolled through his social media page, found no news.

But soon, she saw other people posting pictures on their social media feeds – and Fang Rushuang was among them..
