Chapter 5951: Ties
Chapter 5951: Ties
“From what I know, both of these progenitors were famous, I don’t think they’re around anymore though.” The disciple said.
“Is that so?” Li Qiye gazed deep into the area again.
“Yes, one of them died in battle.” The disciple knew a fair bit about Ancient Step: “Blossom Progenitor fell in battle to Eldertree Grand Emperor, a heavenly tree turned cultivator.”
“Eldertree Grand Emperor.” Li Qiye murmured.
“Young Noble, future generations view this as a competition between two eras. One was the old path while the other was the new one started by Desolate Ancestor.” The disciple said.
“Yes, competition between two paths.” Li Qiye said. One path belonged to the three immortals while the latter was his own.
“They say within the realm of the progenitors, Blossom Progenitor was at the myriad level. I don’t know what this means since I’m more familiar with Eldertree Grand Emperor. He wasn’t an ordinary one since he had twelve dao fruits at the anima level, that’s at the top already.” The disciple said.
“So Blossom Progenitor’s loss was deserved.” Li Qiye said.
“The other progenitor, Stone Aegis, sought revenge against the emperor who had seen the truth to reach origination. A battle ensued and Stone Aegis won, albeit with grievous injuries.” The disciple glanced at Ancient Step and said: “No one saw him again, perhaps he had fallen to the unhealable injuries.”
“From truth to origination, it’s a long path.” Li Qiye smiled.
This applied to progenitors as well - myriad, imperial, and immortal levels. A few of them couldn’t be classified so simply.
In Uncrossable Expanse, certain progenitors still carried this title despite being immensely stronger.
For example, Strong-grass and God Eye were at the immortal level. However, there was a distinct gap between them and others of the same classification such as Gao Yang, Fire Ancestor, and Xian Baihui.
“Yes.” The disciple looked at the sky and said: “Then there’s the limit path before becoming a Primal Ancestor. I think the only one in Sin is Immortal Suppressor.”
This disciple was an ancestor of the Chu but had a good awareness of his place in the world. He respected emperors of all levels but Primal Ancestors were just something beyond his realm.
Immortal Suppressor was rumored to be Moshi’s disciple and had lived for a long time. Others in Sin didn’t have a chance. To see the more powerful Primal Ancestors, one would have to venture to Old World or Heaven.
Li Qiye only smiled and thought Desolate Ancestor had done a great job pioneering the path in Three Immortals.
On this path, the duck egg buyer in Eight Desolaces and First Vine of the six continents have done something similar. However, they never thought about spreading this to the rest of the world.
They focused on their own cultivation and left instantly, not giving a damn about future descendants. They didn’t bother leaving insight or making corrections, so future descendants trained with nothing but mistakes.
At the very least, the duck egg buyer stuck around for a bit while First Vine disappeared instantly after starting the new path.
Therefore, Desolate Ancestor was more responsible than either one, leaving a clear model and continuing to perfect it.
Her dao progress created perfect examples for everyone else, from obtaining the twelve dao fruits to creating an immortal shell and anima. From that to origination and breaking the limit to obtain a primal anima...
Not only that, she even started something for those who couldn’t walk the imperial path - Desolate Gods and Heaven Slayers, an extension of what Space Dragon Emperor and Bull-dragon Ancestor did.
Her generosity and benevolence earned her the respect of everyone in Three Immortals.
Of course, Li Qiye didn’t feel the same way. Cultivation was a personal matter; Desolate Ancestor was a benevolent soul but the duck egg buyer and First Vine shouldn’t be criticized.
“Buzz.” A divine light emanated from Ancient Step.
“Looks like an ancient portal, someone’s going to Enigma.” This surprised the members of the Chu.
“Ties with Enigma?” Li Qiye didn’t care too much.
“According to a legend, Ancient Step was once a part of Enigma before splitting off. This was because Enigma had been destroyed several times before during the reign of Dingtian and Poye. It kept rising from the ashes each time.” One of them responded.
“They have backers.” Li Qiye closed his eyes and smiled mysteriously.
