Chapter 334 CH 319: OOPS!!
As Adam placed his cards back on the table as a sign of giving up this turn, he couldn\'t help but observe and hear the discussion that was going on between the two brothers that owned this casino.
\'I guess they didn\'t become big bosses of this grand establishment for nothing.\'
In his initial plans, he was going to win as much as possible, at least until he was not allowed to, then make sure that they attacked him to give as an excuse for totally wiping them out.
Like this, when their extermination was revealed to the supernatural side of the world, people would simply think that they had finally messed with the wrong crowd, someone they should have never crossed, and thus wouldn\'t be able to link the destruction of this establishment and its owners with the death of Williams in any way, shape, or form.
\'Well. Should I just kill them then? Make it as obscure as possible?\'
Now that he had already seen that they weren\'t just some small-time idiots, he was beginning to wonder if killing them would be a waste or not.
Using his fake identities, it wasn\'t impossible for him to create a sizeable force for himself in this Sin City— Las Vegas.
In fact, as long as he continued to change his identities along the way, what stopped him from taking control of a large part of America\'s underworld?
From the outside, it would simply look like many new gangs had popped out around the world but the truth would be totally different from anything that anyone could imagine.
\'This is a very interesting thought, yea, and I will face next to no retaliation from the larger gangs and police forces no matter what happens along the way.\'
Though the logistic would be quite a pain for him to deal with, this was still a plan worthy enough to give a try at least, according to him.
"Well. I won more than enough today so I guess I will just stop."
The way everyone at the table was panicking like prey in front of a true predator was a truly amusing sight for Adam. While they acted like normal clients, it was clear that they were in fact all employees of this place in one way or another. Adam had singled them all out from the start.
"Why not play for another turn? I am sure I can win the next one."
"Heh. I am sure you will be able to win even more easily without me present."
The gamblers at the table had all been uneasy about his presence. They could not stop Adam from leaving because doing so would be a great crime.
It was then that the chatter inside the room dimmed ever so slightly out of the blue. Adam tilted his head in wonder as he watched a woman in a beautiful robe that was tightly wrapped around her form and revealed plentiful of her curves for everyone to witness.
\'Well. At least, their honey trap is tasteful.\'
She was not a human from what he gathered. Reading her race, she seemed to be some kind of charm monster that he was not aware of.
Smiling at everyone at the table, she approached the dealer and muttered something to his ears before looking at Adam with a lascivious light.
"Hello, friend. Would you like to follow me? The Big boss wishes to speak with you…"
Adam\'s eyebrow rose at those words.
Why did this situation seem so similar to the one he lived through a few hours ago?
\'Fedora, is that you?\'
He shouted inside his mind and then giggled at his own joke with his second mind. This was an interesting phenomenon that only a being with multiple minds was allowed to enjoy.
He was never truly alone up inside his head.
There would away be someone to laugh with him even when it was one of his lamest jokes.
As he played around with his mind or rather minds, Adam ignored the red wave of power that went through his body. The originator of that skill being the lady in front of him.
\'Huh… Is this a bewitching skill?\'
Adam was quite interested in this kind of power. After all, he was slowly delving into something similar.
The only sad thing was that he didn\'t have the power to read the skills of his enemies yet…
Feeling ignored by him, the woman frowned ever so slightly before speaking again. The boss had told her to be very polite with the guest so she had to be careful about what she did or said.
"Hi…"
"Don\'t tire yourself out. That type of shit doesn\'t work on me."
Many clients sneered and laughed, thinking that Adam was talking about the honey trap herself.
But she knew that this was not what he meant by those words.
The only reason she didn\'t panic was because she knew that the powerhouse could easily block her power.
\'How is he so strong?\'
"Excuse me, dear client, I —"
"You are excused. But I am not your dear and I am certainly not a client of this place."
Adam chuckled under his breath and stood up. He wanted to take a more arrogant persona or at the very least, act far more based on emotions than simple logic at the moment.
It was necessary to have fun sometimes, after all.
"I…"
The woman was completely bewildered and lost for words as Adam left his chips on the table and started to walk ahead with a confident gait.
How did he know the exact place where her bosses were? This did not make a lick of sense to her.
Her eyes narrowed as she sent a signal to the men who had been preparing themselves for the off chance that a fight broke out.
80% of the staff were normal humans who knew absolutely nothing of the supernatural world after all.
This made them responsible for the safety of the casino and if anything supernatural happened to them during their work hours, the casino itself would be considered accountable and would pay a fine according to the damage.
There was also the fact that the man could be sent by some competitors of theirs. Everything was possible and they had to prepare according to the situation at hand.
.
.
.
A few moments later, Adam found himself alone inside an office at the heart of the casino. The way those two who were already present moved around and greeted a few guests before observing them from a third secret room was quite a funny sight.
But… He didn\'t have the time for this kind of power play.
"Come out now."
No one answered. Even the woman who had brought him here was silent even though he had spoken in a voice that would allow everyone to hear his words loud and clear.
"Well… I guess you want to show me who is the boss then."
This was nothing innovative about this.
Everyone valued time and in a way, it was the most precious commodity in this world.
Making someone willingly lose his time while waiting for you was a power move of the highest degree and gave the tone for the rest of the negotiation.
"So you see…"
Adam grinned maliciously.
In his current appearance, he had golden hair and a face that had a far more violent air than any of his other personas till now. His smile stretched all the way to either of his sides as the inhumane grin made way for a maniacal sight.
"Hey… Little bitches. I said. Come. Out. Now."
They were not able to see it due to his eyes being covered by the illusion of his current persona but his eyes had transformed into two blistering black stars that spun like an all-devouring black hole.
"Ugh…"
His aura immediately spread in the surroundings, not just through the entire room but through the entirety of the casino and even further beyond.
A bloody aura mixed with the power of Death and a deep desire for destruction and annihilation covered the entire region.
The woman\'s pupils dilated before she fainted, unable to take the pressure and the same happened to the Fernandez brothers and in fact, all the people caught in the blast of his power.
"Oh…."
Adam could only open his mouth wide when he realized what had just happened right now.
Strictly speaking, this was the second time he was using [Death] or at least the aura that was mixed within the all annihilating power.
The first time he used it was to fight a powerful Devil from hell while being covered by a divine barrier.
\'Welp. It seems like I kinda underestimated the effect.\'
One of his minds was calmly analyzing the situation and realizing that the stun effect of [Death] would certainly be very useful in any incoming battle he would have.
Another of his mind was stressing the hell out about the current situation. Wondering if the stunned people wouldn\'t face any problems.
Finally, his last mind was feeling a sense of ecstasy wash over him like no other.
Because if he had to be honest… This power was too fucking damn cool.
At the very least, Adam understood now why he always tried to control himself.
Acting without any restraints only brought fucked up situation like this.
[Should you not flee?]
Adam grimaced, knowing full well that the commotion would spread quite far due to the scope of the aura.
People fainting in a kilometers radius was no joke after all and many of them were part of the supernatural world.
\'Well. At least I know I can cause a mental debuff at least.\'
Standing up, he used his mind to move a pen and write a simple message on the paper of the office.
[I will be back.]
Then he vanished from the premise like a phantom.
This was a night that would be forever remembered in the city of sins known as Las Vegas.
