Chapter 472 - Made a Mistake
Chapter 472: Made a Mistake
Tan Mo nodded. “I do.” She even recalled getting a fever that day.
“When I woke up, you weren’t suffering from fever then, but you did fall asleep on your arms by my bed after taking care of me,” Wei Zhiqian said. “I carried you onto the bed. You were too sound asleep that you didn’t even notice it. Since you got a fever after waking up, you didn’t remember it.”
Tan Mo blinked as her heart began to race. She never thought that she had slept on the same bed with the man before.
“Seriously, little girl, why are you getting more and more reserved after growing up? You weren’t like this before.” Wei Zhiqian laughed as he rubbed Tan Mo’s head.
When he removed his hand, she touched the part of her hair where he rubbed.
‘That’s because I’ve never thought much about it back then…’
Tan Mo said in her head.
Seeing that she was completely stunned by the news, Wei Zhiqian suddenly bent forward and lifted Tan Mo off the floor like a princess.
“U-Uncle?” Tan Mo shrieked and quickly wrapped her arms around Wei Zhiqian’s neck.
Wei Zhiqian smiled and whispered, “What’s wrong? Hm?”
The hum that Wei Zhiqian made almost made Tan Mo faint.
There was a time in the past where she would usually find a certain type of short video online.
There was no picture in the video. The video was completely black, and a man would speak in it
Most of these videos were narrated by men with attractive voices.
Their voices were clear and flirty.
However, it didn’t take long for Tan Mo to get bored with such videos.
She felt as if these men were too forceful with their voices.
They did it by lowering their pitch as much as they could.
The more she heard those types of voices, the more disgusted she would get.
It was only now that Tan Mo realized it wasn’t that she got bored with those types of voices. It was that their voices weren’t attractive enough.
Compared to Wei Zhiqian, those videos were like fakes.
Wei Zhiqian’s voice was attractive and flirty.
No matter how much Tan Mo heard it, she could never get bored.
Even the hum that Wei Zhiqian did was clear and low. He didn’t force his way with it, and it came out naturally.
It was as if his voice was an arrow that was shot at Tan Mo’s heart, and the arrow did not miss its target.
Wei Zhiqian walked to the other side of the bed and put Tan Mo down where he didn’t sleep last night.
He then set the pillows up by the headboard for Tan Mo to lean on.
At that moment, Tan Mo finally gave up on refusing. Since Wei Zhiqian didn’t mind it, then there was no reason for her to not sit on the bed.
He then walked to the other side of the bed and sat down.
Both of them now sat on the bed together. Even though they were still separated by a space that could fit another person, Tan Mo could still feel her heart race.
She quickly took her phone out and swiped on it to mask her nervousness, but she couldn’t focus on what was on her phone.
She opened her chat with Qin Muye and stopped there.
Tan Mo sneaked a glance at Wei Zhiqian to see what he was doing. She did it with the minimum amount of movement because she was scared that he would find out.
“That’s right,” Wei Zhiqian suddenly said.
Tan Mo jumped in surprise as if she had just done something wrong. She quickly raised her head and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“How’re your injuries? I know you used your healing power, but are they completely healed?” Wei Zhiqian asked.
“Yep! They’re completely healed.” Tan Mo nodded.
“How about the bruises on your left shoulder?”
“They’re gone too!” Tan Mo subconsciously pulled her shirt collar down a little and showed her left shoulder to Wei Zhiqian. “See. They are completely healed.”
All Wei Zhiqian saw was her pale and soft skin that was so smooth lights could bounce off it.
He couldn’t help but gasp while his body began to heat up.
At first, he intended to see if Tan Mo’s bruises were gone.
However, when he lowered his head and saw the perfect skin, he couldn’t even describe how shocked he was.
His breathing turned uneven, and he was starting to feel hot.
He accidentally breathed his hot breath onto Tan Mo’s shoulder, and it made her shiver a little.
Wei Zhiqian did his best to hold himself back. Behind him where Tan Mo couldn’t see, he grabbed the sheet tightly to calm himself down.
Fortunately, his phone rang at the right moment, which broke the awkwardness.
“That should be our food,” Wei Zhiqian said in a very hoarse voice.
He answered the call. Just as he had expected, it was their food delivery.
“Wait here. I’ll go get the food,” Wei Zhiqian told Tan Mo and put his slippers on before leaving.
Tan Mo quickly pulled her collar back. After he left, she gently touched her shoulder with her finger on the spot where Wei Zhiqian’s breath touched her.
The place was still warm. It was as if she could feel Wei Zhiqian’s body temperature on it.
The feeling felt almost as if the man had kissed her on her shoulder.
Tan Mo quickly moved her finger away and shook her head, trying to dismiss that thought.
It didn’t take long for the doorbell to ring. She quickly jumped off the bed to open the door for Wei Zhiqian.
Both of the man’s hands were occupied with the food they had ordered.
Tan Mo took a package from him and put it on the table.
She suddenly recalled what Wei Zhiqian had said and asked, “Didn’t you say the table and chairs are dirty? Where are we supposed to sit?”
Wei Zhiqian froze. He realized he had made a miscalculation.
Even though he wasn’t wrong about the cushions being dirty, his true intention was to make Tan Mo sit on the bed.
Now that he had mentioned how dirty the couch and chairs were, there was no way they could sit on them anymore.
After giving some thought, the man finally found a solution. He moved the table in front of the couch to the side of the bed. “Let’s sit on the bed and eat!”
“Okay!” Tan Mo nodded, not giving much thought about it.
Just like that, they sat on the bed together and opened the food they had ordered.
The moment they opened it, the room was filled with the tingling aroma that was uniquely found from Szechuan peppercorn generally found in Sichuan cuisine.
Tan Mo’s appetite was boosted by it instantly.
Just as Tan Mo was about to eat, Wei Zhiqian abruptly stopped her.
“Hold up.” He took another box and opened it, showing the rice congee inside it. “Eat something warm first. You just got up and shouldn’t eat spicy food right away.”
With Wei Zhiqian watching her, Tan Mo took two sips of the congee before moving her chopsticks towards the main dishes.
Sichuan cuisine focused on the spiciness and numbing feeling in their food. The food was usually oily too.
As Tan Mo took a bite of the chicken, the sauce dripped down her hand and arm.
Wei Zhiqian barely ate as most of the time as he was taking care of Tan Mo.
From time to time, he would wipe her mouth with tissue papers.
When Tan Mo took a bite of the chicken cartilage, the spicy oil burst inside of her mouth and dyed her lips red with the spiciness.
Her lips even began to swell a little from the food.
Wei Zhiqian gave her a bottle of iced sour plum juice to calm the spiciness down before cleaning her mouth once again.
He actually had other motives to wipe her lips.
When he saw her red lips, he couldn’t help but wonder how soft they were.
