Chapter 737 - Why Did He Save Me?
Chapter 737: Why Did He Save Me?
Gu Mian was genuinely frightened. All she could think about was the look on Tang Zui’s face when he got himself heavily injured just to rescue her. She thought about what the doctor had said, about the shard near the artery in his chest...
‘The doctor who’s treating Long Sijue has already come out. Why hasn’t Tang Zui’s doctor come out?’
Gu Mian kept rubbing her hands. She had too many questions in her head. Ever since the incident, she had been wondering why Tang Zui wanted to save her and why Tang Zui called out her name when he was semi-conscious.
Seeing that she was shivering anxiously and that there was a red bruise on her forehead, Si Mancheng asked the nurse to treat her wound.
The nurse walked toward her with medical ointment and disinfectant. She called out to Gu Mian twice before the latter responded.
“Don’t be anxious. Tang Zui’s a tough fellow. He’ll be fine,” Si Mancheng comforted her even though he was, in fact, very anxious as well.
“Why did he save me? He hates me. Why does he save me every time I’m in danger?” Gu Mian was genuinely confused by Tang Zui’s action.
To be honest, she did not really mean to ask Si Mancheng that question. She just blurted it out because she was too confused and puzzled.
“Tang Zui holds a grudge against you. He merely thinks he hates you... but in truth...”
As Si Mancheng spoke, the door to Tang Zui’s operating room suddenly opened. He instantly grew anxious and strode over. Gu Mian stood up abruptly too. The young nurse who was treating her wound stopped for a moment.
“How is he doing?” Si Mancheng asked anxiously.
Gu Mian felt her heart tightened. She did not even dare to move. Instead, she fixed her eyes on the doctor who had walked out of the operating room.
“The surgery was a success, but it was also a risky one, considering the position of that shard in Mr. Tang’s body. The good thing is that he managed to pull through. The surface area of the burn injury on his back is rather huge. He’ll have to bear with the pain and inconvenience.”
Si Mancheng nodded. “It’s good as long as his life is no longer in danger.”
“You don’t have to worry about that. As long as Mr. Tang listens to our professional advice and receives treatment, he’ll be fine,” the doctor said and went back into the operating room.
Hearing what the doctor said, Gu Mian flumped back into the chair. By then, she had forgotten what they were talking about earlier on. She merely knew that Tang Zui did not die. He did not die because of her.
Seeing this, the nurse continued to disinfect her wound.
Si Mancheng was also in an extremely tense and stressful state. He had forgotten what he was about to tell Gu Mian right then.
...
Ye Gu dragged Su Qianxun to the treatment room, but she was very anxious. She tried to run back to the waiting area outside the operating room, worried that she would not see Long Sijue as soon as he came out.
Ye Gu kept holding her by the shoulders to stop her from moving around.
Ten minutes later, the nurse finally finished treating the wound on her forehead. Su Qianxun immediately got up and dashed out of the treatment room.
After she slipped out of Ye Gu’s grip, he slowly retracted his hands. He thanked the nurse and left.
The Head of the Elite Dragon Guards rushed over to report to Ye Gu about how they dealt with Cassius. He had ordered his people to dissolve Cassius’ corpse with a special chemical solution.
Hearing that, Ye Gu instructed him to leave.
The young master had mobilized the Elite Dragon Guards to rescue Su Qianxun, which surprised Ye Gu. It was becoming harder and harder for him to figure out what was on his young master’s mind.
Ye Gu really did not understand what role Su Qianxun played in Long Sijue’s life exactly.
The moment Su Qianxun rushed to the waiting area outside Long Sijue’s operating room, the door opened. She immediately heaved a sigh of relief. ‘Thank God, I made it just in time.’
