Chapter 333: Plans gone awry
Chapter 333: Plans gone awry
*Plop*
A black spherical blob of some sort of dark matter landed a few feet away from Jin Wang and suddenly started expanding, swallowing everything inside. He jumped back while also dodging a sword that was coming straight for his head.
"God damn it, this would have been so much easier if we were allowed to kill them!"
"No sh*t sherlock!" Hao Xuan retorted through gritted teeth. He was bleeding from his forehead and there was a patch of clothes and skin missing from the left side of his abdomen, showing the bloody muscles underneath.
It looked like someone had actually pulled the skin off by sheer force, which was no small matter considering Hao Xuan\'s physique. Yet the strangest part was not that, but the fact that it wasn\'t healing at all.
Under normal circumstances, a wound like that would be healed in a matter of minutes but this one didn\'t seem to be getting any better. Hao Xuan flinched when he tried to dodge another incoming attack and a wave of pain spread out from the wound.
"What the hell are they using? Why can\'t I heal?!?" he yelled in anger and pain. His Qi that was circulating through his body much like a water stream in a violent storm suddenly burst forth with a newfound power, and some of it leaked outside.
"I\'M TRYING TO HELP YOU!" he yelled at the top his lungs in the language of the Ancient Orcs, releasing a shockwave along with the words that sent a dozen or so unsuspecting people tumbling back. Yet it made no difference.
Where a dozen were sent back, several dozen joined the fray without saying a single word. They kept their mouths shut and their weapons raised, wasting no opportunity to try and land a fatal blow.
Ancient Orcs, this was their race. The race of Agueda, of Orion and of all these people currently trying to cut Hao Xuan in half. He found this out when Baracus insisted on analyzing some DNA and finding out their genetic code.
And according to him, a long time ago Orcs ruled over a small area of the universe. Well, it was small according to them but there were hundreds of galaxies under their control and numerous planets, too many to even count. That\'s why they only counted those planets that had the same amount and level of cultivators as a grade 1 Kingdom here on the beast world.
With that in mind, if Zodenheim existed today in all its glory, it would still be stronger than several Empires combined. Such was its majesty!
The Ancient Orcs that populated these planets, they were a race of Tribal folk. They usually kept to themselves and didn\'t mingle with any of the other races, which could be considered to have played a major role in their eventual downfall.
Near the end, it was only them against the uncountable armies of the Abyss. Perhaps if they had reached some of the others, Zodenheim would not have come to an end like that.
Still, from what Baracus knew, even though Zodenheim stayed away from other races, they never turned away those seeking help and refuge. That\'s why there were a lot of smaller Orc tribes spread out through the universe even now, but without the support and leadership from Zodenheim, that\'s all they were ever going to be.
They were a race of both learned scholars and fearsome warriors which made them proud....too proud.
"AH!"
Hao Xuan raised the glaive above his head and brought it down in front of him. A multicolored wave of Qi shot towards the hundreds of people in front of him in an arc and everyone that was hit by it was sent shooting away like a shooting star.
*Huff*Huff*Huff*
"I can\'t....keep this up," Hao Xuan mumbled.
He was both tried and running out of Qi. And the attacks and Qi these guys were using was strange. He wasn\'t able to heal from the wounds inflicted by them and they were sapping away his stamina at an alarming rate.
Jin Wang wasn\'t doing much better either. He was covered in sweat and blood, most of it his own.
Their plan was going smoothly at the start. They went into the cavern pretending to be "observing" the wonder that it was until a group of hooded figures walked in accusing them to be tainting the \'honor\' of Lord Ra.
Knowing there was no hiding from it, Hao Xuan decided to forgo all the \'formalities\' and used the item provided by Agueda to store away almost 80% of this "ocean" of ancestral liquid in an instant. That, of course, didn\'t go too well with the Orcs guarding it with their lives.
They attacked with everything they had, while Hao Xuan and Jin Wang only attempted to run away. The only problem was that Buse was supposed to be their guide and they had no idea where to go without her.
5 times already they had run into dead ends and had to fight their way out again.
"Dude, this is NOT working out as I had hoped," Hao Xuan pushed away 3 attackers and jumped back.
"Well, what do you want to do then?"
"Let\'s just break through everything. Cover me, I\'ll take lead," Hao Xuan said while taking a few steps back.
He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath to regulate the Qi. There wasn\'t much of it left so it would have to be done in one go. A streamlet of pure red and yellow Qi separated from the rest and went towards Hao Xuan\'s arms. Their color changed to a dark red and size started expanding.
"Assault of the Mad God!"
With a roar, he turned towards the nearest wall and punched. Surprisingly, it didn\'t break in one hit. Hao Xuan faltered but he tried again, this time using even more Qi. An explosion sounded from the impact of his fist with the wall and a hole the size of 3 meters appeared.
"Come on, let\'s go!"
