Chapter 567 WE ARE HOME NOW (2)
This library was still the same like before, the people, who took care of this place really didn\'t change anything.
And by being here, Zuri felt like they had gone to the past. The first time when she met with him.
She remembered how she used to wait for him in this library when he was away, she remembered how she easily sensed him.
She remembered about Anne, how she took care of her eight years old self thought how great her life turned out after Chaos saved her that night.
And now, twenty one years had gone in a blink of an eye.
Twenty one years later and here she was with Chaos in her arms, sitting in front of the same fireplace, but this time it felt so different. She felt despair in every second that passed.
Something was wrong with Chaos and he became restless. Not only that, he became very weak. He breathed raggedly.
Zuri had seen his enraged side, how he lost control, even when he lost his sight, but she had never seen him like this and this hurt her heart so bad to see how vulnerable he was when he used to be the strong among the supernatural creatures.
"Chaos…" Zuri called him, but he didn\'t respond to her, not even to her touch and this filled her heart with fear. She blinked her eyes to prevent herself from crying out loud. She couldn\'t lose herself.
At that time, Zuri heard something moving behind her, but she was not startled by it, because it was White, the wolf that she found when she was traveling with Chaos.
The white wolf came to her and nuzzled her hand. It had been a long time, since Zuri saw this creature.
"Hi, White…" Zuri said in small voice, as she rubbed her hand on its head, which the wolf bark at her and wagged it tail. "Don\'t make a noise, he needs to sleep."
Chaos was using her laps as a pillow and fortunately, the rug was thick enough and the fireplace was lit up, thus it was not cold at all.
Right at that moment, there was another person entered the library as well and it was Nathen, Gael\'s trusted man, he was left to this manor to take care of it, along with Darius.
"Zuri?!" Nathen was surprised to see her here. "When did you arrive? How could I not know?!" He immediately approached her and saw she was not alone. "Is that Chaos?"
"Yes," Zuri replied, she made a gesture for him to come closer and didn\'t make any noise.
"What happened? Why are you suddenly coming here?" Nathen sat closed to her and look at Chaos, who was still unconscious, but somehow, he knew there was something wrong.
For a moment, Zuri lost in thought when she saw Nathen. The first time she met with him, he was a young and reliable man, who always followed Gael\'s instruction and even now, when he had to stay behind to take care of this manor.
However, right now, he was already an old man with grey hair and wrinkles on the corner of his eyes. He was not that old, Zuri remembered he was forty six this years, but to see how the people around you changed and how there would be a day you would need to bid them farewell, it made her felt sad.
Her heart was in a mess right now and to see this fact, this reality before her eyes, she felt even more morose.
Would it come the day when she had to bid Chaos farewell too? Was their effort not enough and they still couldn\'t be together?
Nathen looked a little bit nervous when Zuri didn\'t speak anything and tried to engage with her. After all, there was an important thing that she needed to know if she had not known about it yet. "Do you know that the dragon is running rampant in the East Draghar now?"
"No," Zuri said simply. She didn\'t know about that and she didn\'t think she care so much about the dragon shifter now.
But then, she remembered that Killian was Chaos\'s shattered soul, thus it was very possible for him to act up, because right now Chaos was not in good condition, especially after the collapse of the realm.
She was not sure what the after effect of the collapse of his realm would be, but she knew it was not something good.
"Have you been in contact with Knox?" Knox was one of Chaos\'s shattered soul too, thus he must know something or feel something when Chaos was like this.
"No. I lost contact with him a few days ago," Nathen replied truthfully.
"Try to contact him again or another people and let me know."
"Okay." He was still as obedience as ever.
Zuri felt her head was so dizzy, because she tried to keep it together, also because of how overexhausted she was. "Help me to get him to his room and call Ciara. She is still around here, right?"
Ciara was the witch and she needed someone to help her to figure out what was going on or at least, let her knew about Chaos\'s condition right now.
"I will look for her," Nathen said and then stood up. "I will call Darius to help me."
Nathen was not so weak by any mean, though he was not young anymore, but Chaos was a big guy, he wouldn\'t be able to prop him by himself alone.
Not so long after that, Nathen returned with Darius, both of them then carried Chaos to his room, which had been kept tidy, even though he was not here for so long.
Once they had settled Chaos on the bed, Nathen left to find Ciara, but Darius stayed behind.
"There is something I want to talk with you about the witch," Darius said with a frown.
