Chapter 309

When Mykael saw the look on Derek’s face and that he still had his hand over Connor’s mouth he smiled and he put one of his hands on each of their shoulders and immediately teleported them into the prison dimension.

Mykael then said to them: “Here no one can hear us, you can speak freely but first let me contact Caleb.”

Derek nodded and quickly explained to Connor that this man was the God of Destruction and Mykael told him to just call him by his name like everyone else.

And by the time Caleb arrived with Kelan, Mykael explained to Connor : “No matter what you know about the Acrium, Kelan is Dilan’s eldest son, so he has access to a very complete archive of your world that goes back to the creation of the border between your two races, so let’s work together.”

Derek looked at Connor and Connor still had a dark expression on his face and then he heard him ask Mykael after standing in front of him as if he wanted to protect him: “Why should I trust you, this ore must never fall into the hands of the Gods. Neither these goddesses, nor you, nor any other God.”

Caleb who had just arrived at that moment with Kelan then said to Connor : “And if this God was the most powerful of the Warrior Spirits that existed and that he had been nicknamed The Slayer of Gods, would that be okay ?”

Connor looked at him but still didn’t say anything so he asked him: “Connor, do you know what a Warrior Spirit is and why one appears ?”

Connor shook his head and he asked Caleb out of curiosity: “Why would a God be nicknamed The Slayer of Gods, it doesn’t make sense.”

Connor felt Derek’s hand on his shoulder and Derek said to him: “Listen to what Caleb has to say, because not all Gods are as bad as you seem to think, I guarantee you that Mykael is a good person and that you can trust him.”

Mykael then said to Connor : “After what you’ve been through, it’s understandable that you don’t trust me. I don’t blame you, and I wouldn’t want this ore to fall into the hands of the Gods either, unless that God is Elias, but even Elias would prefer to hide it and not use it.”

He conjured up his divine sword and said to Connor: “This sword was crafted by using the Acrium, the Creator himself crafted it. This sword is one of the few divine artifacts in existence, and one of its uses is to reset worlds to prevent them from exploding and creating much more damage by destroying worlds around them.

Kevin, as for him, has two of them. The first one is the system that allows him to see everyone’s Stats, to buy any product that can be found in your world and to receive rewards when he loot dungeons or do quests, it’s a great asset and it can become a strategic weapon if it’s well used.

The second one, I gave it to him myself, it’s called the Chains of Restraint…”

Mykael took the time to explain to him what the Chains of Restraint were for and he didn’t forget to tell him that these Chains had been created by Elias and that he had given them to him so that he could defend himself if needed against the other Gods.

And now that he didn’t need them anymore because he had become powerful enough to defend himself without their help, he had given them to Kevin so that he could protect his son and his friends.

By explaining all this to Connor and revealing that in the past he had also been a simple human who had fought for the freedom of his people, he wanted to make him understand that this ore and that crafting divine artifacts with it didn’t necessarily mean creating weapons of mass destruction and that the new Gods weren’t as despotic as Cassandra and Lilith.

Caleb then went on and he told him why the Warrior Spirits appeared and that all the Warrior Spirits under the command of the God of War, who was their general and the strongest and most intelligent of them, were the guarantors of peace in the universe, and that it was the Creator himself who had given them this authority.

Then he told him how Elias had rallied the first Warrior Spirits for over 200 years, how he had trained them, and how together they had killed the Gods, who at that time had no respect for the life of creatures and humans who lived in their worlds.

He explained that the Creator had finally made a pact with Elias and that’s why he had become the God of War and that his new role was to maintain peace in this universe.

Connor of course didn’t know this, until Derek told him about Warrior Spirits, he had never even heard of them because in their world they were called the Absolute Warriors.

He also didn’t know that a God could have been a human once and after everything they told them, Derek was right, Mykael seemed like a good person who loved his family and that he just wanted to protect them.

He then said to them: “What I learned, I learned it before I even met Derek, I was still a very young demon at that time and with a group we were sent to the border.

Only, when we arrived at the border, we quickly realized that we hadn’t been sent to fight against humans but to search for ores in the walls of the purple dungeons.

All the demons with me were either mages with a strong affinity with the earth element or fighters of my level, powerful enough to fight in a purple dungeon but not with a great potential either.”

Connor looked at Derek to give himself courage and then he said to them : “What I’m going to tell you, only Derek knows a small part of it, even Solomon and Kerry have no idea about it, and yet I really love them like my own boys.

The recruiters who chose me for this mission didn’t know about my special abilities, my sister, the boys’ mother, made me promise never to tell anyone that I could detect any ore anywhere because she was afraid I would be used and forced to find ores and craft weapons for the King’s army.

Mykael then stopped him and he asked him dumbfounded: “Wait, what ability are you talking about… Are you really able to detect ores ?”
