Chapter 72: Massacre

Chapter 72: Massacre

"Hahahahahahaha!" Paladin let out a burst of joyful laughter.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door of the manor. A nervous call came in: "Mr. Emmet, are you all right? I heard a lot of commotion!"

"It\'s not a fight, is it?"

"Why do I smell something burning?"

"Oh, no! There must be a fire inside!"

"Call the city defense team, Sir Emmet\'s house is on fire!"

"Come and put out the fire!"

Paladin slightly inclined his head after hearing the noisy voices of the civilians outside. He could not help but hum lightly.

With a wave of his hand, a dozen chains of light immediately coiled and locked the iron door firmly. As long as no magician breaks it with fireball spells, it will not open for a while.

"It looks like we have to end this scuffle quickly." Paladin knows that this is Fenrir, a big city that ranks high in the Principality of Kasmi. And this is the home of a nobleman! It will not be long before hordes of soldiers surround the place. Then it will not be so easy to escape.

On the other hand, O\'Neill felt his own magic gradually restored. He fixed his eyes on Paladin\'s right hand and saw the bizarre golden crystal as a replacement for the skin. The interspersed veins inside could be seen in the seemingly translucent crystal.

"What the hell are you? What kind of monster are you?" Finally, O\'Neill asked the questions he had been holding in his heart for a long time.

Ignoring the guidelines of magic element control, the instantaneous formation of magic constructs, and the eye floating on that mysterious forehead---the almost endless magic power. It made O\'Neill begin to wonder if the guy they were fighting with was human or not.

"Hmm?" Paladin looked back at O\'Neill who was being helped to stand up by Liriel. Suddenly, he smiled faintly and threw his hand violently. A subordinate immediately ran out to a dead corner of that eave, burning with blazing flames, wailing, and falling to the ground. Paladin looked at the charred corpse, then suddenly glanced at O\'Neill. A hint of curiosity appeared in his eyes.

He was certain that he saw O\'Neill\'s magic power suddenly drop from more than two hundred magic elements to thirty because of the release of the thunderbolt. However, at this moment, it was slowly and gradually growing. With a slight squint, Paladin got even more curious when he saw a stream of elemental energy emanating from O\'Neill\'s body, and it was all integrated into the sticker on his temple. And this sticker is exuding ripples that humans cannot see. It is gradually attracting free elements of the same attribute around it.

"As expected of one of the three most powerful masters\' guilds, the mages of the Forest of Hellite. To think that there is such a method to restore magic power."

O\'Neill was shocked. This method was handed down from Hellite. Even magicians with some origins could not see through it simply. But this guy recognized it with just a glance. Thereafter, O\'Neill saw the floating eyes on Paladin\'s forehead. It felt like stripping him naked, which brought chills all over his body.

If you fear too much, you will be afraid. Too much fear, and you will be desperate.

With this in his thoughts, O\'Neill suddenly picked up his wand again and threw a lightning strike that caught Paladin by surprise. Unfortunately, O\'Neill infinitely overestimated Paladin but always underestimated his ability. The moment O\'Neill just picked up the wand, Paladin immediately saw the magic structure quickly drawn in the void. Suddenly having evil thoughts in his heart, he immediately smiled with disdain and copied the structure but drew it faster than O\'Neill. And O\'Neill, who was just about to finish forming his magic suddenly saw a scene that he could not believe to be in his dying breath.

He saw Paladin in front of him laughing excitedly, with a crackling sound from his raised hands. Several different arcs, like O\'Neill\'s blue arcs with golden arcs jumping back and forth at the fingertips! Paladin raised his eyes slightly and exchanged a glance with O\'Neill, whose eyes were full of shock. Then he said with a laugh, "It\'s really good! This magic structure is supposed to simulate lightning. I wonder how powerful it is."

Paladin used a full two hundred golden elements to operate the structure. O\'Neill saw a crackling golden thunderball in his palm at this moment. More and more arcs jumped out of the thunderball. Paladin could already feel the destructive power contained in this small, egg-like thunderball. With this, Paladin laughed loudly and raised his hand violently. He opened his palm to aim at O\'Neill, whose face changed greatly.

To the side where Liriel was!

With a loud sound, a golden thunderbolt emitting a dazzling light jumped out of Paladin\'s palm. It came with a terrifying power that could exterminate everything. It exploded, making a dent in the floor as it passed by and hitting the frothing Liriel extremely fast.

"Liriel, dodge!" O\'Neill shouted miserably. He had already lost his brother and best friend. He did not want to lose another dear friend.

O\'Neill went extremely fast with his wand and then, in one fell swoop, pushed Liriel away. The golden thunder merely brushed Liriel\'s hair but rumbled on O\'Neill\'s body.

Boom! Pop! Almost half of the mansion caved in under this terrifying and deadly blow. Paladin flew to recover the consumed elements and looked at the ruins in front of him. Suddenly, the crumbling debris were pushed away, and a wretched O\'Neill climbed out of the ruins. But after coming out, he did not pay any attention to Paladin at all, as if he had suddenly lost his soul. He was frantically digging through the ruins, as if looking for something very valuable.

Just when Paladin wondered if this guy had been beaten silly, the tender arm that was bleeding from the ruins proved everything. Liriel was buried in the ruins.

"Liriel!" O\'Neill\'s face was a little crazy. He also seemed to have suddenly forgotten the existence of Paladin while moving large blocks of stone slabs away.

Paladin just looked at him with a strange look in his eyes. "Go straight over; you can kill him with a single slap! The matter will be settled! Why are you hesitating?!"

Paladin seemed to have heard a voice in his heart say this to him. He himself fully agrees with the statement. But the strange thing is that he did not do anything. He did not move. He just stared fixedly at the crazy O\'Neill. He looked expressionless and did not know what he was thinking. Maybe it was "moved", maybe it was contempt. Maybe nothing. All of this should only be understood by Paladin himself.

Finally, Liriel was dug out, with O\'Neil ignoring the blood flowing from his hands. He fell to his knees on the ground in a decadent manner. He looked at Liriel, who was lying on the ruins with her eyes open and not breathing. His eyes showed emotions that were completely foreign to Paladin. What is that? Some people call it heartache.
