Chapter 131 - DETECTIVE
"Why can you say that it will be useless?" Lucas said starting to show feelings of irritation in front of his wife.
"Hm ... just sleeping, why do you have to dress up beautifully. Won't it be drool later?" Ellena turned her head while asking her husband a silly question.
"Do you need proof that it's really useful?" Lucas asked as he wrapped his arms around his wife's waist with her chin still resting on her shoulder.
Instantly Ellena convulsed in surprise. Her heart was beating fast in there. Oh shit! She always had a hard time neutralizing her feelings when she was in that position. Lucas is really good at making her heart jump in there.
"Lucas, what are you doing. Please let go of your hand!" Ellena protested, trying to get Lucas' hand off her stomach.
"Not!" Lucas immediately refused and didn't care at all about his wife's protests.
"Come on ... we should have dinner soon, maybe Mom and Martin are waiting." Ellena coaxed without removing her hand from Lucas's, which was still in the same position.
"Just don't dress up, I really love you, Honey. How about you dress up. I really want to try it, Honey? Lucas said in a slightly sensual way of speaking, not to mention the soft caress of his hand on his wife's stomach, making Ellena feel an uncontrollable tickle. bearable.
"Lucas, please ... don't be like this. I'm amused." Ellena whined, giggling slightly amused.
"Why, Honey? I like it." Lucas briefly kissed his wife's neck and Ellena made him go crazy.
Really the woman could no longer withstand every touch of her husband. She laughed while trying to avoid Lucas's lips that kept kissing her neck. Until a knock on the door echoed in the room and made Lucas stop teasing his wife.
"Lucas, Elle, are you done? Let's eat!" called Briana from outside the room.
"Ah, your mother just annoying me!" Lucas grumbled as he removed his hands from his wife's stomach, stood up straight and turned towards the door.
"You are!" Ellena patted her husband's arm lightly, before answering her mother.
"Wait a minute, Ma'am!" shouted Ellena who had focused her eyes on the door.
No more response from Briana. It seemed that the middle-aged woman immediately left after Ellena answered her.
"Let us eat!" Ellena got up from her seat and invited Lucas to have dinner with her.
"You go first, I'll catch up later. I'll call Adley first, just a moment. After that, I'll eat." Lucas said a little hesitantly.
"Okay, I'll be waiting for you at the dining table."
Ellena walked away leaving Lucas alone in the room. She stepped towards the dining table, where her mother and younger brother are already waiting there.
Meanwhile, Lucas, who previously said that he would contact Adley, actually grabbed Ellena's cell phone which was lying on the nightstand. It seems he is still curious about Ellena's behavior a few minutes ago, when she had just come out of the bathroom.
This is the second time Lucas has checked his wife's cellphone. Luckily the cellphone was not locked using a password or fingerprint, at least he could launch his action to find out who the bully said Ellena was.
He wiped the phone screen to the right and managed to display a portrait wallpaper of his wife who was smiling sweetly.
Not wanting to stare at the portrait for too long, Lucas immediately opened the short message and whatsapp application. Check one by one incoming messages. However, nothing. Nothing suspicious.
Not wanting to give up, he checked several social media applications and the results remained the same. Finally, he checked the list of incoming calls and that's where he found something odd. Several incoming phone calls with private numbers, of course made him feel suspicious. Who is that caller? Why was his identity hidden? What did Elena mean?
Lucas thought to himself. However, not wanting to make Ellena wait, he immediately ended his daydream and immediately left the place.
At the dinner table, Ellena and her family still hadn't started dinner, because they were still waiting for Lucas.
"Why haven't you eaten yet?" Lucas asked who had just appeared in the room.
He pulled up a chair next to Ellena, then he landed himself there.
"We're still waiting for you, Lucas." Ellena answered quietly, then grabbed Lucas' plate and poured the rice there.
"Sorry for the long wait." Lucas replied feeling uneasy.
"It's all right, Lucas." Briana responded with a smile.
"Martin, how about your exam results, has there been an announcement?" Lucas asked, looking at Martin who was sitting to the left of his mother-in-law.
"The results will be announced tomorrow afternoon," replied Martin a little lazy.
It seems that he is still not ready if he passes the test and has to go abroad leaving his mother and sister behind. However, because Lucas continued to insist, he couldn't do much, much less had to resist.
"I'm waiting for the results. Don't forget to let me know!" Lucas asked his brother-in-law to remind him.
In this case, he was the most enthusiastic in encouraging Martin to study abroad.
"Yes." Martin whispered curtly.
They also had dinner together in silence, with nothing else to discuss.
***
This morning, there were three handsome men sitting on the sofa in the CEO's room. Lucas had deliberately invited Adley and Alex to his room for an impromptu private meeting, because this had nothing to do with office work.
"So, what was your real purpose in inviting us here?" asked Adley who looked so relaxed when talking to his boss. In contrast to Alex who is more silent and always obeys whatever the boss's obstacles are.
"I've been worrying about Ellena these past few days." Lucas told them.
"Hm ... isn't that natural? A husband should be worried about his wife, right?" replied Adley who still didn't understand the meaning behind Lucas' words.
"That is not what I mean!" Lucas said with a slight chuckle.
Meanwhile, Alex was still silent and didn't intend to say anything.
"So?" Adley seemed to be frowning, staring at Lucas in surprise.
"Looks like Selena is starting to interfere with my wife's life." Lucas explained without the slightest shame and hesitation.
Yes, at this time Adley and Alex already knew Lucas' true feelings for Ellena. After he told them a few days ago.
After all, without Lucas admitting it directly, they could already guess about Lucas who actually loved Ellena.
"How do you know?"
Even Adley, who had been leaning his back on the back of the sofa, suddenly leaned forward with great enthusiasm.
"I watched Ellena from afar and saw Selena coming to meet her at the cake shop." Lucas replied with a worried expression.
"What for?" asked Adley who still looked curious.
"I don't know."
"Have you asked Ellena this?" asked Adley again to which Lucas immediately responded with a heavy sigh.
"Ellena isn't telling the truth. It seems like she's hiding something from me. I'm afraid that Selena has threatened her." Lucas replied, putting on a frustrated expression.
Lucas leaned back against the back of the sofa. For the umpteenth time he exhaled so heavily.
"Anything else suspicious?" asked Alex starting to speak.
"Last night Ellena was contacted by a private number repeatedly, she even hid it from me."
Lucas put his hands on his head, his gaze focused upwards as if he was trying to think positively and not worry too much about his wife. However, the result was nil. He still couldn't get rid of the negative thoughts that were swirling in his brain.
"On the other hand?" Adley looked at Lucas questioningly.
"So far I haven't found anything suspicious. What's clear is that I suspect Selena will do things to my wife," Lucas complained.
"Investigate immediately," Adley advised.
"Yeah, I've thought about it too. However, who can help me find someone I can trust to investigate this case?" Lucas replied looking confused.
"Isn't there Stuart?" Adley looked determined.
Yes, Lucas has had Stuart who always helps him in investigating suspicious cases. Whether it's about personal or corporate matters.
"He's also busy investigating Michelle," Lucas answered to which he nodded again and again.
In contrast to Adley who seemed relaxed because he already knew this, Alex was actually wide-eyed at Lucas' statement.
"What's wrong with Miss Michelle, Sir? Why should she be investigated too?" asked Alex, putting on a surprised expression.
"She also started to approach Ellena. I suspected that he had bad intentions, so I immediately asked Stuart to investigate.
"Oh yeah. How's it going?" asked Adley who was just thinking about it.
Lucas was silent for a moment, then lifted his back from the back of the sofa, resting his arms on his thighs.
"Stuart hasn't found anything suspicious so far, he replied casually, but the expression couldn't be helped that he was still worried about Ellena.
"You calm down. I'm ready to help you find a detective who can handle this case," Adley said trying to give a helping hand to his best friend. .
"Me too, Sir," said Alex in response.
"Thank you for always being there when I needed you."
