Chapter 237
Lu Lixing glanced at the messages on his phone which were sent by Chen Shuyi.
Chen Shuyi had long wanted to bring Lin Zhen out for vacation and traveling so he made use of this opportunity and drove out of the resort with her early in the morning. He had prepared a surprise for Lin Zhen over there.
Lu Lixing fell silent for a moment.
Five minutes later, they each got a book, curled up onto the sofa, and focused on their reading.
In the post-production cut, the production crew photoshopped a big ellipsis between the two of them and even added some super awkward music to accompany the scene.
After reading for a while, Ji Qingqing finally finished the book she had been looking through for many weeks. She glanced at Lu Lixing who was still engrossed in reading and tilted her head to have a look. “What are you reading?”
It was an automobile magazine.
Lu Lixing didn’t answer her. Ji Qingqing then went to read the page he was looking at. It was presenting the latest car models this year and the page Lu Lixing was looking at was relating to autonomous driving technology.
After scanning through that page, Lu Lixing was about to flip the page over when Ji Qingqing, who was currently engrossed in reading it, had her whole body unknowingly lean towards Lu Lixing. With one hand, she pressed Lu Lixing’s hand that was about to turn the page over. “Wait, I haven’t finished reading it yet.”
Lu Lixing’s hand on the page paused and he let Ji Qingqing finish reading it.
【Ji Qingqing is indeed a scheming bitch. She keeps persistently leaning towards President Lu.】
【My god, she’s almost clinging to Lu Lixing’s body! This woman really knows how to scheme!】
【Lu Lixing has such a good temper. He even let this woman have her way. If I were him, I would give her a tight slap!】
【What a shame given Lu Lixing’s looks. How can Ji Qingqing have such good luck to be partnered with President Lu?! I hate it!】
【I feel that this image is rather pleasing to the eyes.】
The back of the sofa was facing the window and warm gold sunlight entered through it, warmly shining down on the two of them. Ji Qingqing unconsciously became engrossed in reading the magazine. After reading a page she stretched her hand out to flip it over. Lu Lixing grabbed her arm. “I haven’t finished reading yet.”
Ji Qingqing let out a bored yawn and Lu Lixing relented and flipped the page.
A while later, they reached the last page of the magazine. Ji Qingqing then got up and glanced outside the window.
Their room was on the third floor and when the window was opened, they could see the sea outside. Upon gazing at it, the sky and sea seemed to have merged into a body, stretching beyond the horizon——an expanse of azure blue.
Lu Lixing noticed the look of anticipation on her face and asked, “Wanna have a stroll along the beach?”
“But I’m so tired.” Last night at 1:30 am Lu Lixing freeloaded her bed, causing her to only sleep past 2:30 am. Furthermore, she had to wake up at 7 early in the morning. Throughout the entire morning, she was in a dazed state and lacked energy.
“Then go back to your room to have a rest first.”
Ji Qingqing nodded. She returned to her room, covered the cameras, and went to sleep.
Meanwhile, Lu Lixing remained in the living room, reading books and magazines. He wasn’t the slightest bit bored.
At 10 am Ji Qingqing finally had enough sleep. She pulled open the curtain and stretched. She had slept till her body felt groggy.
The sun outside was just perfect. The sea surface was sparkling, reflecting silver lights.
She walked out to the living room. Lu Lixing was still in his previous position, sitting on the sofa reading books. He wasn’t bothered by the quiet and did not seem bored at all.
“Awake?”
Ji Qingqing nodded her head. “Thank you, Mr. Lu, for your concern. I’ve rested enough.”
Lu Lixing raised his head and glanced at her and ended up not saying anything.
The sunlight was just right. Lu Lixing suggested going out for a stroll and Ji Qingqing nodded and agreed.
“Wait wait, don’t tell me you’re going out like this?” Ji Qingqing looked at the suit Lu Lixing was wearing and pointed out that it wasn’t appropriate beach-wear.
