Chapter 461 458- Chosen Tournament (5)
"Are we even going to get our turn at this rate?"
Mao Wen, who was with Fuangu, said as he looked over at the crowded teleportation circle.
"It\'s because of those bastards!"
Mu Fan said as he glared over at the young men and women from the Fire Empire.
They were shoving people out of the way for an indifferent Gu Jin to pass. The people shoved all wore dark expressions, but they restrain themselves from doing anything despite the humiliation.
The youths from the Fire Empire only showed derisive expressions to their reactions to being shoved aside.
"What\'s with them?"
Tai asked with furrowed brows.
"Ever since the Fire Empire\'s involvement in the Tournament was announced, they\'ve become way more arrogant."
Fang Chen, who had his arms folded, followed up while wearing his usually cold expression. But faintly, a small amount of killing intent flickered in his eyes as he looked at the youths from the Fire Empire.
He along with everyone had a less than favorable impression of these people.
However, Mu Fan who was the most hotheaded of the group and was unceremoniously showing hostility towards them, suddenly had his expression change.
"What the fuck?!"
Hearing his sudden curse from Mu Fan, Lihua who was next to him turned and gave him a disapproving look.
"What are you looking at me like that for? You\'ll react the same way when you see that."
Mu Fan said as he pointed in the direction of Gu Jin.
Lihua and everyone hearing this followed his point to see what he was talking about. What they saw caused each of their faces to turn gloomy.
"Why is he walking next to Gu Jin?"
Fei Yin asked before Mu Fan responded with a ferocious expression.
"Isn\'t it obvious? They\'re grouping up so it\'ll be easier for me to lop off their heads!!"
What the group saw was Shiming and those from the Ming Clan, or Ming Academy, happily chatting and walking with Gu Jin and those from the Fire Empire.
What was even more shocking, however, was that the Demonic Cultivators from their Maple Continent were mingled with them.
"So the Ming Clan aren\'t even trying to hide their relationship with the Demonic Cult anymore?"
Li Wen said with a dark look on his face.
He then continued.
"You guys should be careful during this Tournament. It\'s not a good sign when our enemies suddenly join forces."
Li Wen was worried since he wasn\'t qualified to enter the Chosen Tournament. Among the crowd of youths, he was the oldest one here despite his mid-twenties appearance. Fifty-eight to be specific.
He was able to enter the Hidden Fragmented Realm when it opened though because of his position as a member of the Li Clan.
It should be mentioned that winners of the Chosen Tournament weren\'t the only selected group that was preparing to enter the Hidden Fragmented Realm. Just that it was the main group that got the most highlight since they were promising youths of the next generation.
"Li Wen is right you guys, we should really be careful from now on."
A voice suddenly said, agreeing with Li Wen.
"Yeah, we kno-"
"…??"
Jun who was about to answer suddenly paused. Turning to his side, he saw who had agreed with Li Wen.
It was Xian.
He suddenly appeared in their group without anyone noticing. He was even acting like he was a part of their group like the crazy person he was.
Jun\'s reaction was more violent than anyone else. With a dark look on his face he instinctively shifted to stand between Lihua and Xian; a threatening look was in his eyes like he was about to attack at any minute.
Everyone in the group just took several steps back away from him. But they couldn\'t move far as they were in the crowd of youths preparing to enter the teleportation circle.
In response to their reactions, Xian merely stood there while looking at Gu Jin and Shiming with a solemn expression.
It looked like he wanted to match the emotion of the group; like he was a part of them and shared the same sentiments.
"Xian, what are you doing here?"
Jun growled out.
Xian turned to look at Jun and said.
"Kun Peng boy, calm down. I came here to form an alliance."
"And what makes you think we\'ll agree to that absurd proposition?"
Xian glanced at Fei Yin who said that, before he sighed and said.
"You know, I\'m not a bad guy. I\'m just misunderstood."
"BULLSHIT!!"
Jun immediately roared. It drew a few people\'s attention.
With eyes filled with immense anger, Jun said.
"You might have not killed all those people in the city, but you murdered members of my group. Give me one reason why I shouldn\'t cut you don\'t right where you stand?"
Jun then seemed like he was about to step forward, but Mu Fan held his shoulder preventing him.
Xian in response to Jun, tilted his head and reiterated his question.
"One reason?"
Xian\'s eyes then gained a sinister black glow to them as he answered.
"How about... the fact that you\'re too fucking weak?"
At the same time, a wild aura swept out from Xian into the surroundings.
The youths who were in the crowd nearby had their expression change before they began retreating.
"The peak stage of the Core Formation Realm."
Fang Chen said with a solemn look, assessing Xian\'s strength from his aura.
Everyone also looked at Xian with a solemn expressions. Not many people in their generation had reached the peak stage of the Core Formation Realm so quickly.
In fact, there might not be anyone who has.
For average geniuses, they would be around the Early Core Formation Realm at this point in time. As for outstanding geniuses like Gu Jin and Mai Rong who had their Water and Fire Empire feeding them resources, they would have already reached the late stage of the Core Formation Realm.
This scale might not be able to apply to Yang Su and the others due to how weird they were. Despite their low cultivations, they were far from average geniuses as they could fight across minor Realms. As for Yang Su, he was abnormal to have the ability to fight across a major realm
However, the scale was still applicable to normal geniuses, and the fact that Xian was at this level of cultivation meant he was far from geniuses like Gu Jin and Mai Rong in terms of cultivation speed.
Perhaps the only people who had shown such a wide gap in cultivation speed than their peers were the legendary \'Three Peaks\' from the previous generation.
Though one should know that cultivation speed wasn\'t everything. Cultivation itself was never a singular path, and having a higher cultivation base didn\'t mean you would beat someone with a weaker cultivation.
But with that said, Xian\'s cultivation was extremely intimidating.
Thankfully, Xian quickly retracted his aura before he smiled and said.
"Well, another reason is that I really did come here in peace. And I\'ve long apologized to big brother Shen about killing your members. It was an accident."
Jun\'s face was still angry. Xian indeed sounded apologetic, but could this person really feel such an emotion? He was obviously faking it!
"Do you think apologizing would just fix everything? And don\'t call Master that!"
Jun yelled, but Yang Su suddenly stepped forward and took the lead in the conversation.
"Alright, say you really did come in peace. Why should we join forces with you when you\'re a part of the Demonic Cult? You-"
"Ah, let me stop you right there."
Xian suddenly raised his hand and cut off Yang Su.
"You\'re mistaken, not-red-hair-guy-at-the-moment…"
Yang Su frowned at the name.
"…I already left the Demonic Cult. But not only me, everyone who\'s fed up with their cruelty has left. You could say we\'re starting a revolt within the Demonic Cult, it should already be underway back on our Maple Continent."
