Chapter 132 - Don’t Panic
The force was still enough to send Alyssa stumbling to the ground. A huff left her as the breath was knocked from her.
How were they so strong? It wasn\'t like either of them looked like bodybuilders, but they had the strength of one somehow. She watched Elias get to his feet.
Scott didn\'t waste a second. He drove his foot against Elias\' stomach, shoving him back against a nearby light pole.
Alyssa flinched when a loud clang sounded upon the impact. Her eyes then widened when Elias stumbled away from the light pole.
He made a dent in the pole. That had to be impossible. The force from that couldn\'t come from a body! None of this made any sense..
Elias lunged at Scott, taking him down to the ground. He hovered above Scott and drove punch after punch to Scott\'s face. His eyes looked dark, merciless.
Alyssa could only stare at him, feeling like she was seeing a person that she didn\'t recognize. She had never seen him this violent before.
"Elias, he\'s done. Elias! Stop!" she shouted. Scott\'s face was so bloody that she couldn\'t even make out his features any longer.
She didn\'t want Elias to kill him. He definitely had the strength to.
Elias lifted his fist another time, but he didn\'t bring it down. Slowly, he uncurled his fingers, breathing heavily as he glared down at Scott.
"It\'ll be ten times worse if you say anything," he murmured before climbing off Scott. He walked over to Alyssa, holding his stomach with a painful grimace. "I\'m sorry."
"Are you okay?" Alyssa asked as she looked over him. His cheek was slightly swollen, and it seemed like his stomach hurt. But he seemed okay for the most part.
She wanted an explanation for his conversation with Scott and him snapping, but she wanted to make sure that he was okay first.
Elias nodded before glancing back at Scott.
"Yeah, I hope so," he said quietly.
Alyssa nodded as she put her arm around his back gently. She figured that his back had to hurt from hitting that pole so hard that he bent the material.
That still seemed insane to her, but she tried to look past it for now and focus on getting out of here.
"Let\'s go back to your place," she told him, wanting to take care of him there. She also wanted to talk if he was up to it.
"You know what will happen. You know," Scott grunted as he pushed himself to his feet.
He wiped some of the blood off his face before spitting on the ground at Elias\' face. "And I can\'t wait to watch it happen."
Elias narrowed his eyes as he watched Scott limp off away from them. He put his arm around Alyssa\'s shoulders and guided her the opposite way, remaining quiet.
Alyssa\'s mind kept racing, trying to think of explanations for Scott\'s cryptic words. What was going to happen, and why did it sound so bad? She was overcome with worry.
"What was all that about?" she asked him.
Elias shook his head, grimacing slightly as he gripped his stomach.
"He\'s just trying to get me in trouble," he replied.
"With who? Your family?" Alyssa asked, knowing that had to be it. Who else would threaten Elias?
She felt bad that he was in such a bad position with his own family. She could understand that a lot, but her family drama hadn\'t been as complicated as this.
Elias nodded.
"It doesn\'t matter. He\'s always been a tattler," he muttered. "Just ignore him."
Alyssa wished that she could turn her head to this whole situation. It would be so much easier to pretend that none of the drama existed, but she couldn\'t.
It was there, and it wasn\'t going away anytime soon. That was what it seemed like.
"You attacked him," she said. Something about what Scott said triggered him so much that he hit him first.
How was she supposed to be calm and ignore Scott if Elias reacted like that? It was obviously a big deal.
Elias sighed as he lowered his head.
"I shouldn\'t have done that. I… just got so angry. He gets under my skin every single time," he said. "I don\'t like when he brings you into things."
"But I am part of this. It has something to do with me," Alyssa said as they came to a stop. She turned to look at him. "Should I be worried? About you? Myself? Us?"
Elias held her gaze for a few moments before shaking his head.
"You don\'t need to worry about anything. I\'ll take care of it," he replied before coaxing her to keep walking toward the parking lot his car was in.
As much as she wanted to be, Alyssa wasn\'t convinced. This wasn\'t something that she believed he could just take care of.
It was far more complicated than that, but she didn\'t know how to help because he wouldn\'t tell her anything.
All she heard was a bunch of cryptic words, and she knew that she was a part of this issue. It stressed her out.
"I just worry, you know? So much has been going on, and it seems like it won\'t stop," she admitted. She was nearing capacity when it came to mental energy.
She could only handle so much at one time, and his family drama was pushing her to the brink.
Once they reached Elias\' car, he pulled the passenger door open for her.
"We\'re almost done with this year. Everything will be okay," he assured her before closing the door behind her.
He climbed in on his side and turned to face her. "Just don\'t panic, and don\'t talk to Scott."
