Chapter 11: Goblins Farmhouse
As they enter the gap in single file, I attack them. I expected the spear to pierce the first goblin, but not to pierce the second goblin as well.

I kick the goblins off the spear and head towards the well room. I stop in the corner to take a look around. The well room is empty when I look around, but as I'm deciding what to do, a goblin comes out of the hallway to my left and starts running towards me.
Guessing by the direction he's facing, I know he's headed for the next passageway. I wait until he's right in front of me and swing the spear at his neck.

The goblin's body continues to advance a few steps before collapsing, as its head hits the ground with a plop sound.

I decided to see where he was headed, so I advanced towards the mushroom room. Looking inside, I saw two goblins on the other side of the stream gathering mushrooms. As I entered the room, the goblins dropped the mushrooms, drew their daggers and rushed across the bridge to attack me.
I parried one with a thrust to the chest with the spear, while blocking the other's attack with my shield. The goblin ducked, ducked under my shield and stabbed me in the leg.

"Whew! You're a sneaky little..."
I throw my spear back, raise it high and stab the goblin as he pulls his dagger out of my leg.
"PUNCH!"

I release the spear from the corpse and bend down to close the wound in my leg until it stops bleeding. As I wait, I look around and notice something on the ground next to the mushrooms. I hobble over to the bridge to take a closer look and find a stone mortar half full of a paste.
It looks like the goblins have been crushing mushrooms to make a paste that they smear on their daggers. I take the pestle and mortar, and walk over to the stream to clean them out. As I kneel down, I see movement. As I look closer, I notice a fish swimming across the stream, which makes me smile, as it represents a new source of food.
Once clean, I take the mortar and pestle and return to my room, then meditate for an hour before resuming the hunt.

When I go out to resume my search, the well room and mushroom area are empty except for the corpses I left behind. So I continue on and check the passageway where I found the books, but all the rooms are empty. I decide to keep looking and head to the room where I found the prisoners, but it is also empty.
As I look around, I see a second door on the right side of the room, so I head towards it and open it, finding another hallway. I can see that the hallway continues for about thirty feet, but halfway down there is something uneven, so I approach cautiously.
To the right is a small alcove, but to the left the wall is broken and there appears to be a natural cave behind it. As I approach the opening, a bad feeling comes over me and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

I immediately put my back against the opposite wall. I slowly slide to the side until I can see into the cave. At first, all I saw was the spider web, but after a few minutes of staring, I spotted the spider. Its body is at least a meter wide, and I'm guessing with legs it's at least a meter and a half. It's definitely a giant spider!
I turn around to leave the place, but I stop suddenly. I bet that thing has a beast core! I'm trying to think of the best way to kill the spider when an evil grin blooms on my face and I head back towards the well room.
As I walk towards the well room, I switch my spear to the hand holding the shield and stop next to the headless corpse to pick up its dagger with my right hand. Then I creep toward the last passage I haven't explored, knowing it has to be the goblins' lair.
As I slowly make my way down the hallway, I see a room up ahead and a bonfire, so I know I guessed right. When I get a little closer and can see into the room, I count about twenty goblins around a campfire. I also notice that the room has torches along the walls, as well as piles of trash, maybe goblin beds?
I also see a larger goblin with a sword, who I assume is the boss. okay, this should work, let's give it a try! I walk over to the light and throw the dagger at the goblin next to the boss.

I grab the nearest torch from the wall, smile at the boss and run off. I can hear the goblins chasing me as I reach the well room and turn left, then left again towards the prisoners' room.
I run across the room and through the door on the right, coming to a sudden stop by the broken wall. I throw the torch into the cave net and then hide in the alcove.
'Follow me!'
MP: 80/100
I stand completely still as I see ten goblins run through the door and head straight for the cave, chasing the torchlight. As soon as the goblins in front skid to a stop, they try to back up, but it's too late, as the spider emerges from the darkness and grabs the goblin in front.

'Haha, did I get credit for that?'
The remaining nine goblins dart forward to attack the spider, and I'm about to jump to attack them from behind when I hear footsteps. I stand still and wait. I see another goblin come through the door, but this one is wearing furs and feathers, and carrying a stick like a staff.
'Jackpot! This must be the shaman!'
The shaman stops in the middle of the hallway, faces the cave, and starts muttering something I assume is a spell.
'Sneak attack.'
MP: 75/100
I exit the alcove and stab the shaman in the back as hard as I can.

I look up and see a goblin writhing as it dies in the spider's jaws. The remaining eight goblins keep attacking the spider, but their daggers don't even scratch it. The first goblin that turns to run takes my spear in the chest.

The next goblin doesn't even turn around and simply looks down in surprise as the spearhead emerges from its chest.

I smile as I draw the spear and the remaining six goblins turn to look at me. I approach one of them, who quickly recoils only to scream when the spider bites him.
