Chapter 3: The well [ 1 ]
However, wishing won't change anything. I need to concentrate on surviving. I guess a source of food and water will be the top priority. But first I want to better analyze this... State!

I only have thirty-five life points, I didn't heal much by sleeping, could it be because I'm hungry and thirsty? Even so, this healing rate is too slow; it will take me days to heal completely.
Well, we have strength, agility and stamina as physical stats, and intelligence, wisdom and charm as mental stats. It really is like a role-playing game! Ah, yes, let's take a look here.... Race!
- Race: Black lion
- Abilities: Higher starting stats, Darkvision, No skill limit, Eligible for advanced classes.
Well, so I can see, but if I'm eligible for advanced classes, why don't I have a class? Select class? Choose class? Class? Why doesn't anything work? Well, I guess I can't have a class for some reason.
Let's see what those missions were... Missions!

"Ah, so I landed on a goblin. Good thing I got credit for that. well, I guess I accept everything!"
As I sit there, after accepting the missions and trying to decide on my first move, I notice some footprints in the dust. As I lean in for a closer look, I recognize that they are large rat tracks; the strange thing is that the tracks go directly into the wall.
As I lean in for a closer look, I go to put my hand on the wall to keep my balance, but as I put my hand through the wall, I lose my balance and end up falling on my face again.
"Whew, what is this, an illusionary wall?"
As I pick myself up off the floor and walk through the wall, I am blinded for a moment because the room is as brightly lit as if it were daylight. As I wait for my eyes to adjust, I am happy to hear the sound of water dripping somewhere inside the room. As soon as I can see again, I look around and see a room twenty by twenty meters.
There is water dripping from a crack in the wall in one corner and flowing into a crack in the floor.
I immediately run to the corner to lick the water off the wall. Once I quench the worst of my thirst, I take a good look around the room. The first thing I notice is that I can see through the wall from this side, which means I will be able to see any goblin that enters the hallway. The next thing I notice is that the light is coming from a stone suspended from the ceiling in the middle of the room.
Other than that, all that's in the room is some old dilapidated wooden furniture, which leaves me confused as to why it's there and why it's hidden behind an illusory wall. The first thing I do is move all the broken furniture to the far corner of the room so that the floor is nice and clear. I then proceed to do some basic stretches and exercises to try to get used to this new body.
Getting used to my new body is something that is definitely foreign to me, but I know it is necessary. In my previous life, I had been lazy and out of shape, so seeing what this body can do really surprises me. I'm actually having fun.
So I decide to train a little more seriously and see what my physical limits are. I'm able to do a hundred push-ups before I start to feel my muscles protesting.

- Congratulations, you've acquired the passive skill Fitness!
√ Fitness
√ Level 1
Statistics +1 End +1
Hmm, I wonder why it's so easy to acquire skills, could it be because of my race? Well, at least if I keep getting stat points from all these skills, it should be possible for me to become quite strong even without being able to gain levels.
After finishing my training, I go over to drink some more water. As I lick the water off the wall, I hear a squeak and, as I look around, I see a rat on the other side of the door. Since I know it hasn't seen me yet, I run to the wall next to the door and try to be as still and quiet as possible.

- Congratulations, you have acquired the active skill Stealth!
√ Stealth
√ Level 1
- MP cost 20
You can hide in the shadows and move silently.
Ignoring the skill message, I focus on the door and pounce on the rat as soon as it sticks its head inside.
"Squeal!"
"Yes! Gotcha! Wow! It's as big as a house cat!"
I feel guilty about killing it, since I had a pet rat in my previous life, but survival comes first. I bring the rat into the room, lay it on its back and use a claw to start slowly removing its fur.
⟨⟨-DING-⟩⟩⟩
- Congratulations, you have acquired the Desuello crafting skill!
√ Skinning
√ Level 1
- Agility +1
- You can skin small and medium-sized animals.
I carefully skin and gut the rat. Then I try to make a small fire with the broken furniture; it takes me a long time to get the fire going. Once the fire is lit, I try to roast the meat over the flames.
⟨⟨-DING-⟩⟩.
- Congratulations, you've acquired the skill of cooking!
√ Cooking
√ Level 1
- Intelligence +1
- You can cook basic foods.
I'm too hungry to be patient and end up eating the rat meat when it's still half cooked. It's not very tasty, but it's food and I have no intention of starving. Well, I've taken care of the food and water for now. This hidden room will be my base of operations while I explore, so I suppose I should try to make some improvements.
For starters, I'm not too happy about having to lick the wall to collect water; I need some kind of bowl or pitcher. I stand up and start looking around, trying to think of what I can use, when my eyes pass over the collapsed area of the hallway. I notice one of the bricks sticking out, look at the corner where the water is coming in and decide to try to make a basin to catch the water.
I step out into the hallway and start using my claws to dig into the dirt looking for the bricks from the original wall.
⟨⟨-DING-⟩⟩⟩
- Congratulations, you have acquired the Mining crafting skill!
√ Mining
√ Level 1
- Strength +1
- You can try to mine normal ore.
I really don't think digging in loose dirt counts as mining! But it's not like I'm complaining; I need all the perks and skill points I can get! I keep digging in the dirt looking for bricks, but I dig a little too far in one direction and cause a small cave-in that causes more dirt to fall through the broken wall.
After things settle down, I notice something strange in the new soil. Lifting it up, I discover that it is a lump of clay. I immediately start sifting through the soil looking for more. Once I have a decent amount of bricks and a good pile of clay, I bring everything into the room. Then I start building a wall around the corner using the bricks and clay instead of mortar.
⟨⟨-DING-⟩⟩.
- Congratulations, you have acquired the masonry craft skill!
√ Masonry
√ Level 1
- Stats +1 End +1

'How strong and sturdy this is, how cool!'
Once I finish building the wall, I line the inside of the new wall, the floor inside and the old wall to the level of the new wall with clay. I make a square basin of clay to catch the water.
⟨⟨-DING-⟩⟩⟩
- Congratulations, the Masonry skill has advanced to level 2!

Well, that helps, and once it's filled I'll have a better way to drink water, which is important. With that done, I go back to the collapse and start expanding the opening so I can get through more easily, since I'm going to be out exploring quite often.
⟨⟨-DING-⟩⟩⟩
