Chapter 575 Little Red Clock-2
Chapter 575 Little Red Clock-2
" It\'s fine son. I am pretty used to it beside, I have her to assist me from time to time." Aaron said with a smile. He missed talking with Samuel face to face like in past.
" Why don\'t you do as he says? We don\'t have to coop up here and mingle with customers like usual."
" That\'s right dad! Brother, you can customize it especially for our store, maybe we can open chains like big franchises." Hannah seemed to be learning about business.
" Franchise? That\'s too much work. Having a small restaurant means, we can take special care of each and every customer. Those chains don\'t know how to please their customers! Frying cold food and serving it like it\'s the next big thing? Sooner or later, people will get smart about it." he had a very strong view about big franchises. Unfortunately for him, Samuel knew how it would probably unfold even if his presence changes few things.
Junk food would have a large boom with the emergence of affordable internet coupled with smartphones. It\'s not like they were not here, Iphone was already making waves in the market.
" At least replace that typewriter with an actual computer. Who even uses that in this era? Isn\'t that right Kiko?" Hannah commented.
" My grandfather also has one so I am pretty used to it. Beside, I think it suits this atmosphere." Kiko\'s perceptive eyes knew that it must had a special reason to be there. Despite the messy workbench, it didn\'t even have a speck of dirt and seemed to be well maintained.
Looking at his face when Hannah talked about replacing it also confirmed her suspicion. Even Samuel didn\'t never commented about it which meant he must know about it\'s significance.
Aaron calmed himself first before speaking, "I am too old for such things. Beside, who am I going to pass this restaurant to? You always complain that you don\'t want to go into family business and Sami here didn\'t have nearly as much time to look after a small business because of his corporation."
" You are burying yourself in work, you guys should be vacationing the globe not running a business. Retire early, enjoy your life a little and get rid of that dusty old typewriter it\'s been here since I was a child!" She looked at her mother and father staring at her silently.
" Hannah it\'s fine."
" No brother-"
" Hannah!"
" Why is everyone so worked up about it? Did I say something wrong?" She looked around cluelessly.
" Honey."
" Alright." Aaron knew what her wife wanted him to do.
" I guess you don\'t remember because you were quite young at that time but this was very significant for your deceased sister. You guys used to hang around in the office all the time because both of us had to work long hours to run this small little restaurant by ourselves." he paused.
" Before she got sick, you and her would mess around and would always empty my cartridge with incoherent words. She always said, it\'s sound calmed her down. I still remember your guys falling asleep one time while listening to sound of my typing." He reminisced about the past as Carol came and hugged him from behind.
" I didn\'t know- I am sorry."
" It\'s fine baby, you were hardly three or four at that time."
" Still-"
" Come here." He called her and she came while hanging her head low. She must be beating herself up inside mentioning to throw something that her sister adored. They hugged each other as Hannah apologized again and again.
They consoled her because it must had triggered some of her sad memories from the past. Kiko looked at them with tears in her eyes, as her best friend, she was aware of what happened to her sister since they had been together for few years now.
Samuel on the other hand, only smiled. It warmed her heart, he never got a chance to have a conversation with her but from what he heard from his mother, she was a brave girl even in the face of death. He touched his eyes and was felt thankful that he was able to inherit a part of her, in a way she was still looking at the world through him watching her family reminiscing about the good and bad times.

" Did you have everything? What about...you know-"
" I have it mother! It\'s not like I am moving out! I am only going there for couple of weeks!"
" Weeks?"
" It\'s only a possibility!"
" Don\'t forget to call us every night, no call us right after you wake up!" Aaron was also worried. It was first time she would stay somewhere overnight, normally him or her mother would stay with her even when they visited the Estate but it was different this time.
" Ok I will."
" Sami-"
" I know, I will look after her."
" No, I am not talking about that! I was only saying not to leave the country without telling us! I know you have a tendency to fly around ever since you got your first private plane! I still can\'t believe Robert would allow it!" He reminded him.
" Don\'t worry will not leave the country. This time it will be a proper vacation, staying home and eating junk food!"
" Junk food?" Carol who was a self proclaimed nutritionist furrowed her eyebrows suspiciously looking at his face.
" I am eating healthy I promise!"
" You better be, or else, I will camp your house and deliver your every meal while you stay here. I still remember how scrawny you were as a kid."
" You don\'t have to bring it up everytime." They messed around for couple of minutes before the girls had their bags ready. Just looking at the amount of luggage, Samuel knew she was not messing around when she said \'weeks\'.
But she clarified that most of it were Kiko\'s stuffs, she wouldn\'t bring all of them only few things for the night. The rest of them would be taken care of by her attendants that were staying in hotel for time being.
" Right, you guys should come to see the new home. There is also someone I like you to introduce."
" Are you getting married?" Aaron asked innocently. He wasn\'t paying attention to Samuel\'s private life.
" Really? Do you already have a girlfriend?" Carol was excited too.
" It\'s girlfriends! Big brother has a big appetite!" Hannah exclaimed and started laughing.
" As expected from a noble." Kiko didn\'t have much reservations about it since she believe to each their own.
""...."" His parents didn\'t know if they were joking or were serious.
" You rascal! Who is teaching you these things!?" Samuel flicked her forehead. She immediately went down clearly exaggerating her suffering.
" Did I say something wrong!?"
" You shouldn\'t say anything and focus more on your studies. She is just joking, hahaha. Oh, look at the time, John must still be waiting for us. We better leave." Samuel acted awkwardly.
He gave them one last hug before grabbing the girl\'s luggage and darting toward the exit. The girls followed him laughing their asses off giving the couple knowing looks. They were left stomped, not knowing what to think about it.
But it did garner their attention to go check it out in person.
