Chapter 117 Conflict-2

" Mr. Ryan, I heard you are responsible for our company accounts. Can you explain why you suddenly decided to suspend our accounts?" Samuel asked. He could vaguely guess the reason, but it was better to hear it directly from the horse\'s mouth.

" Yes, What was the name?"

" Achilles Investment," his friend reminded from the side.

" Yes, yes, that We suspect that your \'small\' firm may be involved in some illegal activities."

" You can\'t ban it on such speculation! Why are you doing this?" Abigail shouted. She lost her patience and seeing Ryan\'s smug face irritated her.

" Can\'t do it? Why can\'t I? It is my duty to eradicate illegal activities associated with our bank."

" You really got guts to question him. Have you forgotten how you begged for your position?"

" Right! I guess you need to do it again, your memory maybe getting foggy."

They began disrespecting Abigail in front of everyone. Samuel was unaware of what happened between these people, but seeing them openly showing hostility toward his employee started making him angry.

" That\'s enough. Is that how your company treats its customers?" Marilyn was furious. She held Abigail in high respect; seeing them tarnishing her reputation made her blood boil.

" Hahaha, Abigail, you haven\'t changed. How does it feel to ruin another company? Will you again beg for you fellow peers? I warned you to stay away but you just had to parade your ass here, acting high and mighty." Ryan enjoyed toying with her. He still resented her for dismissing him.

" You are right! Have anyone of them ever helped you? You fought so hard for them, now they are enjoying themselves under us!"

" Some of them even helped for getting rid of you. You should be grateful that you didn\'t get arrested."

Abigail was red with anger. She remembered; clearly, her subordinates testified against her. They made wild accusations which ended up being the deciding factor for her dismissal.

She never thought that the people she trusted the most would do something like that to her. But she learned that showing hostility toward them now might cause big problems for the company.

History might repeat itself, which made her hesitant to act. Samuel was her daughter\'s savior, and she couldn\'t betray his trust.

Samuel watched the trio\'s performance, they were vicious with their words, but Samuel only smiled seeing them.

" Is it the bank\'s stance on the matter?" Samuel asked.

" Sir, but-" Abigail wanted to protest, but Samuel only glared at her, which made her swallow her words. She had never seen him so mad; even when Quinn revolted, he was calm in that situation.

" Hahaha, I like that look brat! Yes, We will never work with thieves. If you want your money, you have to wait until the investigation is over. You know such things take time right?"

" Maybe in a year or two, you will get your money. But I am not sure." Brian said, supporting Ryan.

They laughed, enjoying Abigail and Marilyn\'s frustrated expressions.

" I may be able to help you out if you kneel and beg for it."

" I agree. Who knows you might like it?"

" Hahaha"

" Let\'s go." Samuel had heard enough. He led his group through the exit but said few parting words.

" I hope you will not regret it." which made the trio laugh again. What can a little brat do? They never took him seriously.

Outside the building, Samuel took out his phone and called his father. He didn\'t want to do it but was on a time crunch.

" Hello, Father."

" Hello, how was the meeting?"

" That-, You already know? I feel like I can\'t hide anything from you."

" You know your mother is always worried about you. She always pester me for such things."

" I never said it! Why are you lying to our son? Is it really that hard for you to own it that you care about our son." Laura said from the back. She had been listening to their conversation.

" Sheeh, Keep your voice down. Why are you yelling?" Robert whispered but with Samuel\'s supernatural ability, he heard everything. He smiled but feigned ignorance.

" Father?"

" Yes, I am here. That was your mother asking something. You heard nothing right?"

" Yes, Just some muffled sounds. You were about to say something."

" Right, Judging from your earlier tone, the meeting was a bust.

" Yeah, I never thought to meet such soulless peoples. Openly discriminating against Abigail, I really underestimated them. I-"

" Don\'t worry. Give me an hour, wait inside nearby coffee house to pass time. Let you father handle it." Robert knew what Samuel wanted to say. He also knew that his son was a very prideful person.

" Ok"

Robert hung up after that; he looked toward his wife, who had already heard their conversation.

" You could have warned him about it. What if something bad happens to him?" Laura was frustrated about the situation.

" You know, he need it experience it. He is always running around trying to do it all himself. Through this he would learn that he is not alone in this world. He has us as his family whom he can rely upon anytime anywhere."

" Right, He is kind child but sometimes it is too much. It must be bad if he wants our help right?"

" Don\'t worry. I half anticipated it, I already ordered Paul to make arrangements."

------------------------------------

A group was having a heated discussion on the upper floors of the HKSBC building. The holding LLC was ushering into a new era as they were gobbling up other banking companies left and right.

They were on the verge of finally breaking into the American Continent and breaking the monopoly of other financial giants there. The chairman and other senior executives were making final finishes to take the world by storm by announcing their achievements.

Although HKSBC has a century-long history, they always fell short regarding American counterparts like Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan etc.

" When is the final signing? We are already four months behind." John asked.

Sir John Bonde had worked for the company for almost a decade now. He had recently been selected to lead the company as the chairman, and with this deal, he wanted to solidify his position.

" We had some hiccups but the meeting is scheduled in a week. It\'s just that few executives were not able to prepare that caused the delay." The secretary said in a meek tone. He was afraid of saying it, but why should he be blamed for someone else.

" Don\'t tell me its them again? Flint it\'s getting out of hand." John said with displeasure, but his hands were tied.

" Why are you blaming the children? You know they are learning every day. Who do you think got you that seat? Huh?" Flint retorted, but it made John angry. He was openly spewing such things in front of everyone.

" Don\'t mind him. He gets defensive when it comes to his grandson." Baroness Dunn, who was second only to John, mediated the conflict.

" Your grandson is also hanging around with that kid. I tell you, nothing good with coming out of it." Dalton, another senior executive, chimed in.

He knew about the huge grip that the bureaucracy had on the company. Dozen people\'s coalition controlled it through their managing rights. Which gave birth to them planting their friends and family members inside the company.

Such a situation was bound to fail because of such people\'s incompetence. It caused the formation of two parties, and the bureaucracy was winning for the moment.

They began bickering among themselves. It had become a ritual; whenever they met, they would often fight like this.

" Ok, quiet down, everyone! We have things to discuss; if you keep going like this, it will take the whole day to finish this meeting." John said. He regretted mentioning the \'problem bunch.\'

That\'s when one employee hurriedly entered the meeting room. He looked pale, like someone who had seen a ghost.

" What are you doing here? Don\'t you see we are in a meeting?" John was irritated seeing the young employees. He couldn\'t believe that the guards had let him through. His day was turning worse from bad.

" Sir, Bad news! Republic National Bank is suddenly refusing our deal !" The employee below. He started catching his breath while others looked at him dumbfounded.

" What the fuck are you talking about? I talked to them in the morning." Flint, who was responsible for correspondence, said angrily.

" I-it is true, sir! Several other companies also decided to pull out their capital from our bank. Lower floors are in chaos because of the sheer number of inquiries." He said, gathering up his courage. He was facing the company\'s top dogs, which made him nervous.

" What?"

John and several others shouted simultaneously; it was the worse scenario at such an important time for the company.
